Hinds County District Attorney Jody Owens issued the following statement.
Hinds County District Attorney Jody E. Owens, II, announced today that 38- year-old Sammie Woodard has been found guilty on all six felony counts stemming from the long- term sexual abuse of two minor girls. Woodard was found guilty of four counts of Sexual Battery and two counts of Gratification of Lust. Evidence revealed that Woodard sexually abused both minors on multiple occasions over several years. One victim stated that the abuse began when she was only five years old and continued until 2021, culminating in an assault at the Rainbow Motel. The second victim stated that her abuse began when she was just ten years old. Both victims described ongoing sexual assaults that lasted for extended periods and occurred on separate dates.Woodard turned himself in to law enforcement in December 2021 after the victims came forward and disclosed their abuse. He received three life sentences along with three additional fifteen-year terms. While the majority of his sentences will run concurrently, the Court ordered one life sentence to run consecutively, resulting in Woodard serving back-to-back life terms. “There is no place in our community for grown men who prey on little girls,” said District Attorney Owens. “Protecting our children requires all of us. If you witness or suspect sexual abuse, report it immediately. You could save a child’s life.”

But you can murder someone and no big deal. 10 years. 15 max
Punishment should include permanent physical castration.
There's a post from earlier today about a murderer who got a 40 year sentence in Hinds County. What are you talking about?
