My son and 3 other kids were recruited by Hartfield from Northwest Rankin to come play football. Ultimately, the kids decided to stay at Northwest. I picked up on this behavior way back then. Glad we passed on that.

Amateurs, no one was shot or stabbed.

One thing that's guaranteed is this will be on the socials and all the parents from Hartfields Academy will defend this. No one there calls out bad behavior.

It's a private school. It won't be handled. Mommy and daddy will pay their way out of any consequences, and they are probably involved too. If it was a public school game, police officers would be kicking people out.

Where was the AD? I have heard he was a good guy, but he should have had control of his students (or ejected them) waaaaay before it got to this point. If they were talking about a student’s deceased mother, shame on them and shame on the adults for allowing it. These student sections have become increasingly out of control the last few years with little being taught in the way of sportsmanship and class by the adults. The adults acting a fool should have promptly been shown the door. Ridiculous that it got this out of control. But, having watched how HF announcers talked on a recent broadcast, having class and showing sportsmanship is not what is being modeled by the adults.
Also, if parents would teach their children how to act and discipline when they make poor choices (bc they will) instead of encouraging this craziness, there would not be situations like this.

The kids who were cut this season, have been committed from day one and are the ones who are made to suffer for it. Long-time students who practiced daily, played through every injury and broken bone, and showed real commitment are cut from teams so that outside AAU players can take their spots. It’s disheartening to see kids who have worked hard for years be dismissed by fly by the night coaches who seem more focused on their son's team than the students who have been part of the school community from the beginning.

There’s no longevity, no continuity, and no real effort to build a stable basketball program. A child with a desire to play basketball will never get consistent leadership or development at Hartfield Academy. Constant turnover among coaches who are only interested in manipulating their sons below average basketball skills.

Even if it was OF that started it, the admin of HF (and OF) should have shut it down quickly. I haven’t seen that scene in JA, Prep, or MRA’s gym. I’ve seen people tossed before it got to that level. It never should have been allowed to escalate.
