What does the headline mean? It means none other than 70's supergroup Chicago is coming to Brandon.
The concert will be part of Brandon's Jubilee Days celebration.

Searching for something to say ...
Should be a sell out. Every high school band director within 200 miles will be there to see if they actually need to change the halftime show they've been doing for the last 50 years.
Lost me when Ceterra turns it into a crooning band. Michael McDonald, Peter Ceterra, Dennis Deyoung. Crooners who ruined perfectly good rock bands.
I thought Peter Cetera retired 10 years ago.
Also, the crooning gets the panties wet. I knew long ago that if playing any Peter Cetera song works as long as your face doesn’t look like a troll doll that had a motorcycle accident.
They don't play any of the 80's power balads much. They stick to the 70's stuff that we all like.
I went to their show in New Orleans and they played all new material….which wasn’t so good….friend with me went to sleep….so we left. Pretty bad show imo.
Leave Michael McDonald out of this
@Kingfish
Cetera didn’t “turn Chicago into a crooning band.” David Foster did and resurrected what was a dead & buried band playing the state fair circuit. Cetera had been there since the first album and even sang lead on their debut single in ‘69.
Dennis DeYoung founded Styx and was the writer & singer of most of their hits.
McDonald is the only one who could have been considered to “ruin” anything by changing the band’s sound. Gave them their biggest songs, even though many (including me) prefer the harder-rocking early stuff.
Styx wouldn’t have existed without DeYoung and Chicago would have been a vastly-lesser band if the lead vocals would have been limited to Bobby Lamm’s lounge singer baritone or Terry Kath’s mediocre Ray Charles imitation.
Chicago changed when Terry Kath died.
I saw them the last time they played the Brandon Amphitheater and might just go again. The brass is still tight but the big hits are missing Cetera's voice, Kath's guitar, and Seraphine's drumming.
Glad they are coming back. I saw them at their last concert in Brandon in 2022. They played a good mix of old and new and the turnout was good.
I wish they could get James Taylor to return for another concert. Good show in 2023.
Saw them at Thalia Mara Hall a few years back and they were fantastic. Lead guitarist was considerably younger than the rest of the band and he was amazing. Vocals/harmonies were on point. They played most of their rocking songs; don't remember them playing any mushy top 40 stuff...but of course I don't remember much these days. I'll go see them again for sure.
Every time I walked into the frat house in 1970, Chicago was blasting away. They take me back to a very special time and great memories. I’ll be there.
I've seen Chicago twice. The first time was in the late '80s at Mud Island. The second time was several years ago at the Golden Moon. Both were excellent shows.
anyone I want to see are either retired or dead....
My problem is that Jared Leto’s 30 Seconds to Mars will never come to Mississippi.
My wife and I will be there. Thank you, KF!
9:58 so nasty. But it's not for you!
Speaking as a fan since junior high back when there was still such a thing as junior high and not “middle school,” I’ve seen them twice, at Reed Green in Hattiesburg in 1974 and again the last time they played Brandon. Both were excellent shows. As a musician, though, there were times at the Brandon show that I heard things that I couldn’t see being played onstage. Chatting with another concertgoer, also a musician, after the show, he agreed he heard/saw the same thing. Undeniably great band of great musicians that they are, still they augment there concert sound with prerecorded tracks. They don’t have to do that for this fan, but I’m given to understand any performers above the level of playing the finer honky tonks and whorehouses at all points south of Highway 80 are running tracks. It’s a shame. It “fakens” real live music.
But I’ll probably be there. Because Chicago is a collection of musicians and not some cobbled together salad of photogenic personalities.
Actually 'it means' a group capitalizing on that name is coming to Brandon. All but two of the original members are pushing up daisies and those two can find their zipper.
