Looking for a deal on a "starter rifle" for the kids? Palmetto State Armory knocked down the price of several models of the Ruger 10/22 rifle as it placed them on clearance.
The stainless steel/synthetic stock model is $269.
Blued/synthetic stock is $229.

That’s a heck of a deal for what is arguably one of the handiest rifles ever made.
No collection is complete without a 10/22.
Any model of the Ruger 10/22 is a great investment.
It's a lot more than a kid's "starter rifle".
I have one with a suppressor and you never hear anything but the action. Very very accurate
I lost mine in a boating accident but before that it was set up real nice with bull barrel, synthetic stock, nice scope, etc. Could drive nails with it….
I got my 10/22 in 1999. Wooden stock, stainless bolt, steel barrel band and trigger set. Fast forward to 2019 when I bought one for my son and while I still got the wooden stock, it had a plastic barrel band, plastic trigger set, and a pot metal bolt. Plus it cost $349 when mine was $150 in 1999. It’s hard to recommend it when the Marlin Model 60 and Henry .22 Repeater are still made as well as it was 25 years ago and costs exactly the same as 20 years ago.
I bought one in 1967 for less than $100. Wooden stock. Passed it on to son & grandson.
I don't believe in private firearm ownership. Before my enlightenment, I did own some, but lost them in a tragic boating accident off Flag Island in 78. Also I think Hillary Clinton is a fine, upstanding women, a patriot and certainly hasn't arranged the deaths of any political rivals.
I have one also, nothing wrong with it but I'd suggest at least a look at the Model 60 as well, unless you're looking to do some customizing. Aftermarket parts abound for the 10/22. I have a stainless 10/22 with a Mannlicher wood stock, I think it cost $125 back in the dim mists of time.
I heard once that the 10/22 was the most popular and widely sold gun in history. I never bothered to look that up but I own two of them, one of which is over 30 years old and I have never had either one jam.
Sadly the Marlin model 60 is no more after Remington drove them into bankruptcy.

Wow I did not know that. A few years ago I gave spare Marlin Model 60 to a friend as a gift. I guess it will increase in value as the years pass.
