The Mississippi State Climatologist reported a hailstone yesterday that tied the state record:
This hailstone fell near Brooksville, MS in Noxubee county early today (06-14-23). If it measures 5.0 inches in diameter it will tie the state record set in 1962 (Lafayette county). I do not know who to credit for this photo but I certainly hope this hailstone is safe in a freezer so we can get an accurate diameter and circumference. If others from the Brooksville and Crawford areas have any other photos of hail please send them my way.

A lot of small pebble size at Main Harbor
They probably rolled it in cornmeal and fried it.
Yeah - That's gonna leave a mark!!!
Not sure I would consider that an accurate form of measuring, especially to tie a previous record.
God is trying to get our attention that He is not pleased with what we are doing to His creations.
I hope they will preserve this and place it in the museum next to the Jack-a-lope, the 125 lb. white perch, the 6 headed alligator, and the cow with 5 legs.
All the roofers converging on Brooksville.
You call that a hailstone? Why, back in my day, we had hailstones that would fill a Jackson pothole.
Bunch of candy-assed pansies. (Snort) A 5-inch hailstone.
My pristine 2000 Benz S500 was destroyed by stones that big in Clinton March 2013. That was such a damn fine car.

That storm did some incredibly bad damage like nobody around here had ever seen before. Sorry about your car. Were you in it when the storm hit?
Hope they don’t have State Farm
Talk about Hail State.
AOC sez, "Global warming!"

Parrot brain says "I want a cracker.I want a cracker."
SQUAWK
Measure it quickly. Then, rinse it off, put it into a glass, and pour 3 fingers of Pappy Van Winkle 23 over it. Cheers!
Kudos to the Mississippi State Climatologist. I bet Ole Myth ain't got one.
