Parker McCollum Coming to Brandon

Red Mountain Entertainment issued the following press release.

Coming into 2022, McCollum had already been named an ‘Artist to Watch’ by Rolling Stone, Billboard, Sounds Like Nashville, MusicRow and The Boot. He was featured as the Opry Next Stage ‘Artist of the Month’ and Apple Up Next Artist for 2021. Parker made is late night TV debut on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” where he performed his hit “To Be Loved By You.”  This year has only proven McCollum’s star status by garnering his first two major awards – ACM’s 2022 New Male Artist of the Year, and the CMT Award for ‘Breakthrough Video of the Year’ for his mega hit, “To Be Loved By You.” McCollum is also a 2022 CMA Award nominee for “Best New Artist” – his first nomination at Country Music’s biggest night.

Singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Parker McCollum released his major label debut album, Gold Chain Cowboy, with MCA. The album follows his Hollywood Gold EP which was met with widespread critical acclaim and became the top-selling debut Country EP of 2020. McCollum earned his first-ever No. 1 hit with his double-platinum certified premiere single, “Pretty Heart,” and his follow-up gold certified single, “To Be Loved By You,” also hit No. 1 on the charts. “To Be Loved By You” was also the only debut single to ship to radio and peak at No.1 in 2020. In November of 2021, McCollum made his first late-night TV appearance performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

McCollum has been named an ‘Artist to Watch’ by Rolling Stone, Billboard, SiriusXM, CMT, RIAA, and more with American Songwriter noting, “The Texas native teeters on the edge of next-level superstardom.” MusicRow listed McCollum as their 2021 Breakout Artist of the Year and Apple also included him as one of their all-genre "Up Next Artists" Class of 2021. A dedicated road warrior, McCollum made his debut at the famed Grand Ole Opry in 2021 and he already sells out venues across the country (over 40 sold out shows nationwide in 2021) including record-breaking crowds in Dallas (20,000), The Woodlands (16,500), Austin (7500+), Lubbock (7700+), Jackson, MS (5000+), Kearney, NE (3000+), Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, and three nights at Fort Worth’s iconic Billy Bob’s Texas. In March of this year McCollum made his debut at RODEOHOUSTON to a sold-out crowd with over 73,000 tickets sold. He also made a dream come true by performing at Austin City Limits for the first time and will be kicking-off their 2023 season. McCollum earned his first ACM award for New Male Artist of the Year in March 2022 in Las Vegas.  McCollum also won his first CMT “Breakthrough Video of the Year” award, a fully fan-voted honor, in April 2022. Parker is currently up for his first-ever CMA Award as a nominee in the “New Artist of the Year” category.

1:07, naw, I haven’t had a piss today so I’m kinda pissy. That ain’t country. No matter how ya paint it. All

Baseball hat blue jeans and boots. Not cowboy hat blue jeans boots.

If somebody wanted to do something they would see if they could squeeze Depeche Mode in on October 17th between NO on the 15th and Nashville on the 19th.

But, alas I doubt it would be supported here.

Gordon Lightfoot is more country than that fool, granted Canada is the country but he's still more country.

Jimmy Kimmel live...Now there's an endorsement that raises my pecker.

The original owners and stars of the Grand Ole Opry would be embarrassed to see him mentioned by the Opry as a rising star. It took many country stars several decades to become members, Willie Nelson for example.

Just another wannabe who got his picture taken on the tailgate of an old truck with a horse in the background and boots that never touched a farm or a cow-turd.

Meanwhile - Supersquawk every day is hollering about giving away tickets to somebody who is supposedly coming to Oxford - Another somebody who nobody ever
heard of. Waylen, Wallen or something like that.

If you have time, Google the Belamy Brothers singing 'No Country Music For Old Men' with John Andersen.

Is this a ba-donk-a-donk-a-ronk-a-stonk green tractor cranking country "singer?"

What and when was the last (real) country-music act to appear at this venue?

What's next? The Monkeys reunion? Herman's Hermits, The Third Generation?

Whatever it takes the 'dip and short-shorts generation'...with eleven PBR cans in the pickup bed.

Great, another bro country guy coming to rankin county. Alright rankin bros, time to break out the white sunshades, salt life yeti heybo shirts, squatted 15yr old trucks, flat bill caps, jeans with cool stitching on the ass, hey dudes shoes and throw some girly truly cans in cooler and go. What am I missing?

I think I stand for all my age bracket and the people on this blog in saying…..who?

3:20 nailed it.

Dumb culture and dumb music.

Anonymous said...

But, he's got his own, original PM logo. Not many true country musicians can say that. So, he must be the real deal.

Just like a gold chain cowboy
Ridin’ out on a horse in a star-spangled rodeo.

Was he a winner on American Idol or the Voice?

Apparently the legion of "Anonymous" posters, i.e. imbeciles, haven't recently (in the past 20 years) been to the Roman, or to Austin City Limits. The negative comments here continue to astound me. Perhaps one or two of them folks may show up at the Brandon venue and enjoy some expanding of their narrow culture (lack thereof). Amazing. Truly amazing the amount of negative comments. Meh.

Maybe next time.

Anonymous said...

Is Andy Gipson booking these shows?

For 'Meh' at 9:51...Tell me where 'the Roman' is. I might want to check it out.

PS: 'Meh' is terribly outdated - Even for a 20 something year old.

Diddywahdiddy said... Pardon. Mea Culpa..."Ryman" of course. The sarcasm and "we are too cultured" attitude of the Negative Patrol is amazing.
"Meh" to you et al.
Stultissimus Est.

@9:51 has nothing to do with culture. It is terrible bro country.

And the worst past is the Amphitheater books the same dudes. This guy was JUST there in September. Douche Bryan had been booked there what, 4 times? Not only does y’all’s music suck but you keep wanting to see the same 2-3 acts over and over again.

Let’s get some real artists to play the venue.

But, Plant and Krauss aren’t.

Diddy… Wut??? Culture??? Hahaha. You made my day. Culture.

I worked in the music business and toured for years. New music in pop, hip hop, and country is written by an algorithm similar to chatgtp. They analyze what songs did well and why then narrow down the algorithm. It picks the “trigger words” and chord patterns that had previously done well and writes a song about it. Then they hire these clowns to go out and sing them. I know. I’ve seen it first hand. In the business, it’s called “Nashvillization”. It is literally the opposite of “culture”. Creativity has no place in todays music.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.

Sonjay Poontang and his band headline the night with a special steel cage, no time limit "loser must leave town" bout between Alan Lange and "Big Cat"Donna Ladd following afterwards. Kamikaze will perform his new song F*** Bush, he's still a _____. Did I mention there was no referee? Dr. Heddy Matthias and Lori Gregory will face off in the undercard dueling with dangling participles and other um, devices. Robbie Bell will perform Her two latest songs: My Best Friends are in the Media and Mama's, Don't Let Your Babies Grow up to be George Bell.
