Truth be told, Mayor Lumumba's political career began in a lie. JJ reported on March 12, 2014:
Looks like Chokwe decided to pass off a quote from Frantz Fanon's "The Wretched of the Earth" as his own in in the first sentence of his speech yesterday. See for yourself.
Each generation must out of relative obscurity discover its mission, fulfill it, or betray it. In underdeveloped countries the preceding generations have both resisted the work or erosion carried by colonialism and also helped on the maturing of the struggles of today. We must rid ourselves of the habit, now that we are in the thick of the fight, of minimizing the action of our fathers or of feigning incomprehension when considering their silence and passivity. They fought as well as they could, with the arms that they possessed then; and if the echoes of their struggle have not resounded in the international arena, we must realize that the reason for this silence lies less in their lack of heroism than in the fundamentally different international situation of our time. It needed more than one native to say "We've had enough"; more than one peasant rising crushed, more than one demonstration put down before we could today hold our own, certain in our victory. As for we who have decided to break the back of colonialism, our historic mission is to sanction all revolts, all desperate actions, all those abortive attempts drowned in rivers of blood. Page 206, The Wretched of the Earth, Frantz FanonThat is one use of the quote. Here is how it is used by other revolutionaries. So did Octavian attempt to pass off someone's statement as his own or was he being cute and hoping no one would discover the source of the quote?

Well, that sure was a sad day for Jacktown.
it's been all downhill ever since-
Shockway and Biden have something in common-plagurism.
To add to @10:27 AM's comment.........and lying, making shit up, incompetency, no management skills, narcissism, etc., etc., etc.
If Bennie tours Chock through the Delta, I do hope they stop and visit in Rolling Stone.
It Takes A Villain
The Lumumba Manefesto
...manifesto
And the mayor's lies have only grown in number & size since then.
I hear Stokes is authoring a book - Pinnochio and The Dope Boyz with forward by Ben Allen, images by the local, political cartoon artist.
Lumumba's pronouns are fail/failure.
It’s better to be silent and thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt
Chowke is coming out with a book -- Being a Mayor for Dummies.
Hey 6:25 I thought it was how a Dummie can be Mayor
“Truth be told, Mayor Lumumba's political career began in a lie.”, no surprise in that event. All the people, of the mayor's ilk, traffic in deception. Lies, and half-truths are their stock, and trade.
They produce nothing of value. The by-product of their actions are misery, heartache, hate, discontent, poverty, and various other negative afflictions known to mankind. This is the way of the Marxist. Nothing new for them to leave destruction of historical institutions, proud traditions, moral foundations, and opportunities for the majority in their wake.
This type speak in promises for the future, but give no positive results for today. Always listing the problems of the past, while using fear of an illusionary enemy as a motivation for the people's continued support. This is the way of the marxist.
