SEC Shorts had a lot of fun with what else, the Bulldogs record-setting win over LSU:
Hats off to the Bulldogs. They came in , did what they had to do, and came away with the win. Pelini was typical Pelini. Stubborn and refused to change. Made no adjustments during the game whereas Aranda was the master of adjustments. Leach owned him at Oklahoma and Texas Tech. Look it up. Apparently Bo didn't think to look at the Washington game films because he ran a defense that was the complete opposite of the Huskies. Dumbass would blitz and use man coverage on third down every time with the same results. It also never occurred to him to cover Hill even though Leach loves to use short passes to halfbacks slipping out of the backfield. Getting beat is one thing. Allowing the other team to set records is something else.
The Bulldogs kicked the stew out of the LSU O-line. Defenders were shooting through the A gap. 3 were beating 5. Brennan was the opposite of Burrow: Indecisive when he had time to throw. After the game, he said he gave it his "all" and didn't show much leadership or taking responsibility as Burrow or Tebow would have done. Hopefully he will learn. One could say LSU lost an overwhelming number of starters. However, with the recruiting classes LSU has, at some point it should be reload, not rebuild.
Truth is, State wanted it more and played like it. Hats off to the Bulldogs for a well-earned and deserved victory.
Oh yeah, did anyone see the beating Burrow took yesterday? 8 sacks. 3 in OT. He is getting killed every game. Will he make it through the season?

Trollfest '09
Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.
Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).
Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.
Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".
In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.
In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.
Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.
Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!
This is definitely a Beaver production.

Robbie Bell will perform Her two latest songs: My Best Friends are in the Media and Mama's, Don't Let Your Babies Grow up to be George Bell. Sid Salter of The Clarion-Ledger will host "Pin the Tail on the Trial Lawyer", sponsored by State Farm.
There will be a hugging booth where in exchange for your young son, Frank Melton will give you a loooong hug. Trollfest will have a dunking booth where Muhammed the terrorist will curse you to Allah as you try to hit a target that will drop him into a vat of pig grease. However, in the true spirit of Separate But Equal, Don Imus and someone from NE Jackson will also sit in the dunking booth for an equal amount of time. Tom Head will give a reading for two hours on why he can't figure out who the hell he is. Cliff Cargill will give lessons with his .80 caliber desert eagle, using Frank Melton photos as targets. O will go back to being O. they'll be lucky to win 5 games this year. He'll be gone in 2
If the pandemic crisis (whether one considers it real or over-hyped), has taught us anything...*sigh*...surely it is that sports are really, really stupid, and possibly humanity’s biggest waste of time, second only to war.
“Th’expense of spirit, in a waste of shame,”
If you can source that quote, then you probably are a practitioner of that ancient art. Or a sports fanatic...or both. Fie on all Sportsball.
I watched the game KF. For most of the first half, Kylin Hill was well covered. Hill's biggest play was a coverage bust due to the motion and play-action of the receiver. I do agree that there was too much blitzing and not enough occasional zone. LSU's biggest defensive issues were no Stingley or Vincent (there two best DB's). I was more disheartened by the fact that the offense looked inept until the second half. Joe Burrow is not walking through that door, and neither is the bulk of last year's offense.
Coach "O" looked pitiful at his post game presser.
Perhaps I missed it, but I don't think he ended said press conference with his normal unintelligible speak.
Never did I hear him scream his signature phrase "go tye'gahs ! "
We still giving advertising revenue, ticket sales and alumni donations to people who will go on to the NFL and take a knee during the National Anthem to show us how much they hate us? Good job guys! You could spend Saturdays lifting, jogging or growing food in your yard or you could spend it showing your wife that you bow in deference to another man cause he’s muh bawplayer!
I’m laughing at the disgust from the Baton Rouge Advocate that is still shell shocked asking, Mississippi State? We lost to Mississippi State?
If you have a parlay for LSU to be national champions and their QB to win the Heismann, the casinos thank you for your covid contribution.
Well, my goodness, KJ looked pretty darn good...but he should have based upon the DB's that lswho (formerly dbu) put on the field this past Saturday. It made ms state look better than they really are. Guessing that when Leach leaves state, he'll average about 6-7 wins per year just like everywhere else he's been. O could be up for an awakening with his fan base/administration if he can't right he ship. If he's eventually fired by the end of next year, that buyout is going to be tough to swallow. I'm betting that both the tigahs and the dogs wind up around 5-5 each with the SEC Championship coming down to Bama & Florida when all said and done.
The excuse makers, trying to explain their bad pre game picks, touted lsu's loss of starters, but failed to acknowledge State having a totally different staff, offense and defense, with completely different schemes, with no spring training. And like any team they lost starters as well.
Bottom line is lsu is the typical lsu. They are a good team with typically mediocre quarterbacks. Last season was exceptional because of an exceptional transfer qb. Looks like State has that type of qb this year, but with an offensive maverick coach.
Coach zero is and always will be a clown. He doesn't coach now, just recruits and that's smart on lsu's part.
Leach is not an unknown commodity. There is a book on how to play Leach. Huskies always executed it to perfection as did Ole Miss once, or was it twice? Leach was going to run his offense and did so.
Leech is not an unknown commodity - but he will change depending on what the defense is doing. In Saturday's instance, he didn't have to change because your Tigers kept on playing man, and they couldn't keep up.
Did the Tigers lose a lot from last year? Damn sure did. They are ranked 127th nationally on what they lost. But the Dawgs are ranked 116th so all this blame on "look at all our new players" is a pretty weak excuse. Truth is, last year was an anomaly for LSU - Coach O found him (somehow) a QB and had great coordinator that could put his talents to use.
Leech won't win them all this year, but based on Saturday, he will win more than O. Comparing the number of 4&5*s that O has to work with, the fan base won't be happy in Tigerland this year.
LSU played a whole new defense against Central Florida in the Fiesta Bowl and did fine. Of course, Aranda was the coach and he was constantly adjusting.
This is also what happens when you don't have any OOC games and a bunch of new players. no "preseason" that allows them to get used to game speed. Drop them in the crucible and go this year. State earned it, don't think I am downing them. They played hard, put themselves in a position to win, and took it home.
At least neither Leach nor O took a knee. Can't say the same for Mullen and that guy at TSUN.
Has anyone else noticed how much Lane Kiffin resembles Dobie Gillis (when Dwayne Hickman was younger)?
Leach has always been head coach at schools that were historically below average in their conference. He has always lived in college towns and is not quick to change jobs. Washington State has the least resources of any power five school. Still Leach has had only three losing seasons. At Mississippi State he will have the best players he has ever had, but so will his opponents. Historically State has been below SEC average in recruiting QB's and WR's. With Leach that won't happen. State has had excellent defense many years. People like to think that Leach tricks people. But he runs fewer different plays than most college coaches. But he practices those plays to perfection. His WR's run 8-9 miles a day in practice. The defending champs were clearly gassed in the fourth quarter and State wasn't even playing fast, which will be a strength. His teams will outwork most teams and that fits the historical Mississippi State mentality. I'm not making a specific prediction but he looks like a very good hire.
F***k Mullen!
-State fan
All of you are shooting from the hip. Y’all are not on the fucking coaching staff and don’t know any more than the last guy who typed a paragraph claiming this and that. Just shut up and find something productive to do. Y’all are just trolling each other to stay pissed off. Just stop.
Funny video. One note - the LSU people on SEC Shorts really need to be Cajun. And real Cajuns - not their regular folks trying to speak in a Cajun accent (that NEVER works). If they need to use subtitles that would be even funnier.
LSU was only 1 deep at each position last year? Who knew?
LSU has a top 10 recruiting class each year.
Stingley was out, but it wasnt just his back up that got burned.
Look at the MS State offensive time of possession after the first and second quarters. They were gassed.
LSU's DC is to blame for some of it. They played man the whole game and arrogance thinking they were more physical and didn't drop back to zone didn't help them.
Before they game announcers were talking about how deep they were with talent at all positions. After a loss they talked about how many were out.
Purple Shirts, yella britches.
There was astonishing beauty in seeing Bo Pelini bomb in his debut as defensive coordinator. He has such a nasty personality. I have never been sure why players would want to play for him. He (and one of the Stoops brothers) stand out as being a real asshole on the sideline, yelling and berating his players. Glad to see him fail.
Congrats on beating last year’s practice squad. How does the saying go? “The sun shines on a bulldog’s ass...”.
Coach O and the whole LSU administration were too involved in the Covid/BLM issues trying to appear politically correct. Leech never had his mask up once the whole game, and had his players practicing full-speed/full-contact everyday. What did you think was going to happen?
The Bulldogs may falter at some point, but Leech doesn't give a shit about anything but execution, and therefore winning....even with four turnovers!
