Carjacker Carjacks Instead of Showing up for Carjacking Trial

Yes, you read that headline correctly.

Frederica Brunson was supposed to be on trial last week on several carjacking charges but instead decided to go carjacking.  JPD tweeted yesterday:

Juvenile male suspect, Fredrica Brunson, Jr. -17, is charged with armed carjacking after a vehicle was taken, at gunpoint, from a female in the 700 block of Glencross Dr. last night. Officers captured Bronson and recovered the vehicle shortly after.

Carjacking is what young Fredrica loves to do.  A Hinds County grand jury indicted Brunson on July 26, 2019 for one count of carjacking and two counts of armed robbery.  The crimes were all committed on March 8, 2019.  Brunson has also been arrested for aggravated assault since the indictment.

A judge set his bond at $300,000 for the charges at his preliminary hearing.  Attorney Trent Walker argued in a motion for bond reduction:

When taking these eight factors on balance, it is clear that Mr. Brunson should be granted a bond reduction. Mr. Brunson is a juvenile being held at the youth detention center, and was a high school student in the Jackson Public School district at the time of his arrest. He has resided in Hinds County with his family for his entire life, and they have been present at all of his previous court appearances. He has no criminal history, since he is a juvenile. For the same reason, he is unlikely that he is a flight risk, since he has no means of supporting himself due to his age, and no exposure to any other region to which he might flee.  He should be granted a bond which is reasonable to assure his appearance, but does not act as a pre-trial punishment.

The bond was reduced but the record does not state the amount of the new bond. Brunson posted bond.

He was supposed to appear at his trial on September 14 but did not appear in court.  Circuit Judge Winston Kidd issued a bench warrant for his arrest.  Brunson (allegedly) carjacked a woman yesterday.

Can't say that he doesn't know jack-shit about jacking cars. Y'all notice that he stayed about 1/2-mile outside of Madison County? He know better.

Damn. If they'd named me Fredrica, I'd go on a spree too. Have some mercy on this fellow. He was just trying to drive far enough away that folks call him Fred.

So what Judge do we hold responsible for HIS actions? I mean, we all want to hold Judges accountable, right?

Kudos on your headline!

“He has no means of supporting himself”, except through his main occupation, CAR JACKING. I wonder why he hasn’t expanded his business model to include Madison and Rankin counties?

This kid is screwed.

He is the product of a broken culture, shitty schools and parents that can't, or won't control him.

He's headed to the cemetery or prison. Just a matter of time.

These fools don’t have a clue about Prison. Need to take pictures of him crying like a baby when big Harold asks for his food tray and send the pictures to his family asking for money! Big Harold, will then kiss him on his forehead and tuck him in at bedtime.

It just ain’t cute to be a criminal, the animals will eat you alive.

Ya know, THIS is the type of guy you really have to wonder if he's capable of being rehabilitated. If he's so unafraid of the criminal justice system that he fails to show up for his carjacking trial because he's out carjacking (and was also previously charged with aggravated assault AFTER his indictment), you just got to wonder if he might have missed the point.

Like a wild bear or tiger that develops a taste for human flesh, they usually can't be taught to quell that desire. Sexual predators are also known to likely be irredeemable. Likewise, this guy doesn't give the appearance he's capable of NOT being a violent criminal, so like the bear or tiger, it might do society a favor if they were to go ahead and put him down.

Sadly, he is mastering the highest skill that he is likely to ever possess. His parents showing up for his hearings means nothing. They likely have never shown up for anything else in his young life.

The United State is broken! Other developing countries are keeping their children in school 12 hours a days in STEM classes. The U.S. government has evolved into a nanny giveaway state.

1) Judge sets a high bond
2) Kid gets an attorney and bond is reduced
3) Is indicted and the judge set the matter for trial?
4) Kid doesnt show up because he knows he will likely be convicted and get a decent prison sentenc
5) When kid doesnt show up for trial, a bench warrant is issued.
6) Kid carjacks somoeone else

While not the best outcome, the sentence worked. everyone in hinds county did there job. I know people will say if the Judge had never let the kid out, he wouldnt have been able to carjack someone else. But the constitution gives people right to a reasonable bond. If they mess out once they are released its on them. but everyone worked in this case except for the kid.

The family of this young man failed him, then the Hinds County Courts blessed him. He will then, accidentally kill his next carjacked victim!

When is someone going to stop this madness!

I’ll bet $100 than his teachers at JPS, is glad this fool is gone! One less distraction.

"The family of this young man failed him, then the Hinds County Courts blessed him. He will then, accidentally kill his next carjacked victim!" Or a victim gives him a third eye. Then we get to see his Kindergarten and Sunday School pictures while the family cries about his being slow but a lovable kid.

Love the title myself.

Perhaps Kingfish can think of a way to include the word "crackerjack" into the follow up article.

"crackerjack carjack" or something like that.

And yes, there will be another article about this "young man".

He just a kid some of you people on here comments are so sad how y’all would want him gone if y’all had kids that’s a lil wild y’all won’t say the things y’all said else never hurted no one he just probably like to drive cars that’s all but he not dangerous at all as you can tell just a lil wild some of y’all are a disgrace for kids that have mental issues until it’s yours he still a child have mercy on him

@9:05... you can't even write a sentence. I would say this kid is more than "a little wild". A little wild is drinking a 6 pack and throwing up in your mom's car. This kid is a hardened criminal with no respect for anyone or anything.

My son loves to drive cars... he went to work and bought himself one.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
