JPD issued the following statement.
Jackson Police have charged 22 year-old, Darvin Arnold, with aggravated assault for a shooting that wounded a 4-month old infant.
Arnold was originally detained for questioning at a residence on Downing Street the night of the incident.
Arnold remains in custody and is awaiting his initial court appearance.
The infant still remains hospitalized and in critical, but stable condition.
Kingfish note: Darvin was arrested last year for commercial burglary but was never indicted.

Thanks to Robert Smith, property crimes are rarely being prosecuted. And my sources say that the house where the baby was shot is a house of horrors including abused animals.
Not indicted on the burglary? But of course not, because it wasn't his fault that society has kept him down.
Why prosecute him for shooting a baby? That's very trendy in Jackson, and great for thug street creds.
Lock up your babies, AND lock and load.
Can the state take over the judicial system in Jackson? Given the police seem to do a pretty good job, the problem appears to be with the DA and the courts.

Kind of in no-man's land. Nobody really wants to fool with this dumpster fire but there are too many important facilities (private and governmental) located there for the state to allow it to sink much farther. I wish Phil would deal with this on his way out instead of handing it off to the next gov. .
Shoot a baby- get a $25k bond.
@1:11pm: Read before you comment. The $25,000 was for the burglary charge. He hasn't gone before a judge for this yet.
CASTRATE and LOBOTOMIZE him.

Phil ain't got no time to deal with prolems. He's hoping for appointments to make, is busy studying lobbyist opportunities and be lookin' over a list of potential pardons. There's a supreme feeling of power that goes with the ability to pardon criminals. Imagine (if you will), a deputy sheriff with that ability.
