JPD issued the following statements.
Carjacking
Jackson Police are investigating an incident where multiple shots were fired, resulting in a motor vehicle accident and an armed carjacking. These incidents occurred in the 3200 block of Lynch St. near Hwy 80 W. just before 12:00pm.
Officer originally responded to the Jubilee gas
station at the corner of Lynch St. and Hwy 80 for what was believed to
be a gunshot victim. Upon their arrival, Officers found a silver sedan
stopped on the intersection which had sustained
heavy front end damage. Officers later learned that several shots had
been fired at the vehicle prior to the accident as well as shortly after
the accident and a 38-year-old male had left that vehicle and ran to
the Jubilee where someone contact Police, assuming
that he had been shot.
Information was later obtained that the initial
incident stemmed from an altercation between the occupants of the silver
sedan and the occupants of a dark red sedan in the parking lot of the
Texaco gas station, also on Lynch St., just east
of the Jubilee. Both vehicle left the lot as several shots were fired
and the red sedan appeared to be pursing the silver sedan. As the
silver sedan traveled west on Lynch St. and approached the Hwy 80
intersection at a very high rate of speed, it violently
collided with the rear of a gray vehicle which was stationary at the
traffic light, forcing it into the intersection. Three individuals
exited the silver sedan; one appeared to be a female who got into a red
two-door vehicle that was stopped at the light,
before fleeing east on Hwy 80. At that time, the red vehicle that was
in pursuit, stop in the intersection just past the wreck and fired shots
at the remaining occupants before continuing further on Lynch St. away
from the scene. One of the occupants, a
black male, ran to the vehicle they had collided with and forced the
female driver out at gunpoint. He then took her vehicle and fled at a
high rate of speed west on Hwy 80. The third occupant, also a black
male, ran to the Jubilee along with the carjacked
female.
The male suffered lacerations to the head that
appeared to have been caused during the accident and not from gunfire.
He was transported for his injures and is said to be in stable
condition.
The carjacked vehicle was a gray 2005 Chevy Impala,
believed to have been taken by a black male suspect, known only as “Lil
J”. The license plate of that vehicle is, WBJ785 (Warren Co. MS tag).
It was unknown if this incident is related to the
two early morning shootings that occurred on First Ave. and again on
Capital St. That possibility has not yet been ruled out but there is
not enough information, at this time, to make that
determination.
Capitol Street shooting
Jackson Police are investigating a shooting that occurred at approximately 8:00am on Capital St. near Prentiss St.
Officers responded to a call of shots being fired and later found a
32-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck. The victim
was responsive but provided very little information regarding how the
shooting occurred.
Victim is in stable condition. There is no suspect information available at this time.
First Street shooting
Jackson Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in the 1600 block of First Ave.
Officers responded to a shots fired call at a residence shortly before 4:00am
and found a male inside suffering from at least one gunshot wound to
the arm. A witness advised Officers that several gunshots were heard
being fired into the home.
The victim was transported to an area hospital and is listed in
stable condition. Suspect information remains unknown at this time.
Kingfish note: It is suspected that at least two of these shootings are related. JPD sources said "victims" would not talk or cooperate with police.

I, and others, have asked the same question numerous times. For some reason no one will respond. To have been so high profile when it occurred it is now as though it never happened. Usually you can at least get something to the effect of "it's an ongoing investigation and we can't comment." This one has been nothing but crickets for months now. To me something smells rotten.
They have no leads, that is why. Feds came in and helped. Thought is it is out of town killers. No one locally has said a word. No chatter, no nothing. If killers came and went, trail gets cold.
NOW the street committee has a theory, and that is that the murder of Kingston Frazier, his uncle, and this deal are all related to each other. but that is the street committee, take it for what it is worth.
Ok, the thug that was transported to a local hospital with laserations to the face...exactly just who picked up the tab for his AMR ambulance ride and the ER bill ?
This happened at HIGH NOON, correct? And at Capital or Capitol, whatever. They don't even wait until after 10:00 p.m. anymore.
Where is the outrage from the "Leaders" in Jackson. Stokes, Lumumba, etc? You never hear from them condemning their people on these actions? They are more worried about looking like jackasses on national tv protesting the president doing sitting president protocol things, but wont come out and say a damn word about this. Where are the community activists like the guy with the dreads and knit hat. You want to be a community activist, then get your community under control. Everyone in Jackson like to make some point about white people this and white people that....these are your people, and you better be proactive getting them under control or you or a loved one may be the victim to some of this nonsense.

Stokes/Lumumba are "leaders" of Jackson. But Stokes is a racist anti-cop nut, and Antar just missed a chance to meet with the PRESIDENT of the country, where he could have gotten federal money/help in a 5 minute meeting-- but he wanted to 'stand with the black and brown community' per his campaign literature... XY = stupid x2.
Also, every software package today has spell check and rudimentary grammar correction; guess JPD overrides it... what an analogy-- free help available but purposely not used.
My Jackson is a very fond memory from the 70's and 80's. I left for Madco in mid 2000's and my only regret is not leaving in the 90's; lost maybe 100k value on my house. If you are sitting on the fence, look in the paper next local election and compare candidates in Hinds /Jackson with Madison and Rankin. It is what it is. If you choose to stay and 'resist', more power (and sympathy) to you; I fought the fight for 25 years, and left happy, but poorer.
The national political powers have been dropping drugs into the black community to create killings between competing gangs and continuing social dysfunction. CIA, DEA, FBI, ATF, etc are all trafficking and benefiting the political elites here and in Old Mexico. Addiction and social dysfunction is eating out the heart of America now. POTUS would have to shut down the core of both political parties who have engaged in illicit trafficking in guns, drugs, uranium etc. Truth is coming out about sexual harassment, but when will the other truly American Empire evil be outed. The public has a suspicion that Washington is evil from the Pentagon where no audit has ever existed to Capitol Hill. That is the truth.
Everyone pointing at the leadership of Jackson is obviously a racist. Any paralegal can tell you that this violence won't stop until all YTs acknowledge their inherent racism and admit they are at fault. #justiceforchokwesbeard

Not to mention the super stars on the Madison County BOS.
Difficult to focus on being a hard-working, crime-fighting mayor when there are so many television cameras around.
