Hopefully her pension is revoked.
Her pension, if due, will not be revoked. Nor will the rebate on her land line which is due from South Central Bell.
Paid*
Why did it take so long to spot the embezzlement? The woman stole almost a quarter million dollars before anyone noticed!
...which is due from South Central Bell.
Blast from the past.
Something doesn't add up in that letter from Pickering. The numerical amount is vastly different than the written amount in parenthesis. Regardless, I'm not surprised. As a Brandon resident, I've only few reasons to venture into Pearl, er, Perlin, and everytime I venture there, I tread cautiously as yes, I am a criminal in the eyes of the Pearl Criminal Justice system. I've been serving my 3 years "probation" that came with.....getting caught leaving a convenience store without first fastening my seat belt. Mississippi law codifies my heinous crime as a $25 fine. But the City of Perlin demanded I pay them $75, of which I did. Wouldn't surprise me to learn they reported my crime to my driving record as well, again, counter to State law. So where'd the extra $50 go? Was there an incentive to be watched like a hawk from the jack boot wearing men in the dodge chargers? I hope this woman gets offered a plea bargaing deal and rolls on some others. Nearly a quarter million dollars is way to much money to remodel the kitchen in a mobile home.
Well ole Purl is in for some serious changes. Hopefully they can get the exodus to stop at the Police department. New admin has had to make drastic but necessary decisions..
10:58. InPearl that's payed. They have their own dialect that's hard for Jacksonians to understand.
The written amount is $5607.18. Only $232,738.01 short of the owed amount. That's a whole lot of no insurance ticket fines that were paid in cash and then, as they had full authority to do, remanded to the files. Person paying fine speaks no English. Who will ever know? Looks like no one until a quarter million dollars later.
according to the demand and the indictment she was swiping about 13,000$ per month. someone was asleep at the switch. how can city government NOT notice that?
400..thats easy, the former mayor was too busy playing police...not to mention his ride along partner was crooked too
What ever happened in this case?
