Gazprombank GPB (OJSC), a Russian bank targeted with sanctions by President Obama over the Ukraine crisis, has hired two former U.S. senators to lobby against those sanctions, according to a new disclosure filed with the Senate.
Gazprombank is controlled by Russia’s state-owned energy company Gazprom, the country’s largest gas producer; it supplies about a third of Europe’s natural gas.
In a filing submitted Friday and effective that day, former Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott, R-Miss., and former Senator John Breaux, D-La., are listed as the main lobbyists under the Gazprombank account for the firm Squire Patton Boggs, lobbying on “banking laws and regulations including applicable sanctions.”
Gazprombank GPB (OJSC) is a subsidiary of Gazprombank, Russia’s third largest bank. On July 16th, the U.S. Treasury Department added it to a list of Russian firms barred from debt financing with U.S. institutions. Rest of article.

Absolutely disgusting how a politician--even a good ole boy from Mississippi--can pimp himself out for money from foreign governments who have no respect for America nor any interest in the welfare of Americans. Ole Trent lobbied for the U.N. Gun treaty recently as well. There is NOTHING he won't lobby for. It's just like when he was a senator but with more money. He's a mainstream republican though, just another reason we are doomed as a nation. No opposition party, only self-serving statists on both sides.

Lott is actually lobbying for the opposite of commies which are plutocrats. Gazprom bank which is a subsidiary Gazprom which in turn is the privatized former state energy company. As for 8:21 Noel - Your tin foil hat must of made you misread something on Infowars, Lott has never lobbied "for the UN Gun treaty" UN Resolution 61/89, who would his deep pocketed client be? If you want an example of him being a hypocritical hired gun, use the UN Law of the Sea Treaty. He opposed it as Senate leadership then lobbied for it for BP. Either are moot though as the UN has less power than the Oktibbeha County dogcathcer.

The West has put us on the brink of a catastrophe by destabilizing the Ukraine and, by virtue of the pact of NATO, is trying to put nukes 500 miles from Moscow. This situation is dire and must have a diplomatic solution.
Is there large pay here to Trent Lott? I'm sure there is, but I will take ANYONE working to resolve ANY tension here. The stakes are very high.

Reports: Michael Brown Had No Serious Felony Convictions As A Juvenile
While the St. Louis County Circuit Court has yet to release any of Brown's records, if there were any, a court official apparently divulged a few clues during a hearing about the matter on Wednesday.
NBC's Tracy Connor and the Post-Dispatch's Jeremy Kohler each reported that Brown was never convicted of a Class-A or Class-B felony as a juvenile, nor was he facing any such charges at the time of his death on Aug. 9.

The firm Trent Lott works for Squire Patton Boggs only took in $17.76 million in the last quarter. Haley Barbour's firm BGR Group has dropped to last place and only took in $7.25 million.
