Lay down with dogs and fleas seem to be the result. The Clarion-Ledger reported:
Stephen Fielder, the self-proclaimed pastor from Meridian, says a member of Chris McDaniel's campaign paid him $2,000 to give an interview in which he accused a Thad Cochran campaign staffer of asking him to pay people to vote for the GOP incumbent.....
However, Hood spokeswoman Jan Schaefer confirmed Monday evening that Fielder told investigators that it was Noel Fritsch who paid him for the interview.
Additionally, a Democratic activist said two weeks ago that Fritsch contacted him about helping to find legal representation for Fielder. At the time, it was believed the FBI was talking to Fielder, but that has not been substantiated. The FBI previously would neither confirm nor deny any investigation into Fielder.
In an email statement Tuesday night, Fritsch said, "Charles Johnson paid for the texts & emails Cochran/Wicker staffer Saleem Baird sent that prove Cochran bought Democrat votes."
Fritsch did not respond to other questions about whether he helped raise the money used to pay Fielder or about his alleged involvement in securing legal representation for the Meridian man....
In the interview with Fielder, at about the 16:14 mark, Johnson asks Fielder if he has a photograph of the Cochran staffer accused of asking the Meridian man to pay for votes. Fielder says he can get one. Gilbert then says, "OK. If you can forward that or email that to us or to Noel, we'd like to get that."
Fritsch was allegedly in possession of the recording prior to its release on GotNews.com and, within an hour, on RedState.com. On June 29, when asked about the audio, Fritsch would neither confirm nor deny that he was in possession of it. "You'll just have to wait and see what comes out," he said at the time. "I hear there's some interesting evidence out there." Rest of article

Chrissie McDenial is now in the illustrious company of Senator Bilbo for his racist, criminal, and stupid tactics and accomplices.
I wonder if Chuckie's visit to MS gets rescheduled? LOL. "Hey Mr. Johnson, would you mind stopping by the AG's office to discuss a small matter while you're in town?"
So, what's the problem? He just needed some 'walkin' around money' and this has been going on for years. I'm old enough to remember good ole 2nd district Bennie's ad agency gathering the preachers and passing around some cash and sample ballots to be distributed on Sunday before the election. We won't mention the special order at Briarwood Package Store of cases of pints and half pints to be handed out...of course in the community, not at church. Just an old Mississippi tradition. As Ross Barnett once said: "What's the constitution among friends?"
"Useful idiot" for sale to the highest bidder. Wonder who the last highest bidder was?
Let the Capital Resources echo chamber commence...
Wake up.

Pay for a vote...pay for a lie....the minority community is well known to jump willingly at either or both, equally.
Noel Fritsch does not seem to be particularly bright, so if this is true, I bet he left a long trail of evidence to prove it.
What was purchased- gullible people. Actually, they paid Chris and Chuckie to be gullible- hate all you want, that's kind of intelligent.
The rest of it's dumb, but PT Barnum would be proud.

I think the only thing both sides can trust at this point is that you CANNOT trust anything that comes out of this "reverend's" mouth.
I think it's painfully obvious this whole vote-buying controversy was a Hail Mary from McDaniel's camp. They just never thought they'd get caught.
What about this theory? McDaniel knew going into the runoff election that he would challenge because, as chairman of the election committee, he had to know that crossover voting exists in just about every statewide election?
It would explain his pointed comments election night, that he never planned to concede.
It also would further connect Charles C. Johnson to the McDaniel camp, since Johnson was putting out pro-MCDaniel/anti-Cochran stuff since before election night. Maybe Chuckie was testing the waters beforehand.
11:02, agreed, but that being the case, it is patently absurd to include his allegations in the McDaniel complaint. Poor lawyering at best and complete incompetence at worst.
It never ceases to amaze me that people think the truth is something that can be purchased.
What you get for your money is whatever the person being paid thinks you want to hear!
Unless they have independent evidence to back up what they say if paid, forget about it bearing any resemblance to truth.
The people willing to sell their soul to the Devil in the name of politics is quite amazing.
What a fantasy to believe that saying " Oops, God, sorry" is going to save their soul without confession and atonement.
If McD's complaint isn't dismissed by the GOP first as untimely under the statutes read together(which will nip all this nice and cleanly in the bud), then Tyner's putting the "word" of the Reverend in his Complaint should provide for some fun Cross-Examination, don't you think? The rebuttal by lots of north east Jackson Republicans to the sworn Affidavit on cross-overs ought to be plenty entertaining as well. Hope it is all televised, albeit distracting to anything truly productive.
What the McDaniel team is going to face from Garriga et al is going to be brutal. YP made a great point today in that this drawn out challenge, suing all the Clerks, should give clients of Hortman Harlow great pause.
@12:21, I hope you meant to imply it was McD's unsophisticated supporters who were gullible & not that the McD campaign or their media co-conspirators ever had any illusions they were purchasing the truth from Fielder, do you?
If they did indeed harbor those illusions, that would make McDaniels not only amoral but too dumb to be deputy dogcatcher let alone a US Senator and MS dodged a real bullet by not electing someone that naive & ignorant to represent their interests in DC.
It's pretty clear now that the same sleazy & corrupt crew who signed off on sneaking into that nursing home was going to try to subvert the outcome of this election by any means necessary, including cynically engaging in exactly that which they accused their opponent guilty of: egregious race-baiting & election fraud.
@11:02, Agree McDaniel's legal counsel has destroyed their professional reputations if they ever had one to speak of. That filing was an embarrassment.
McDaniel set out to expose everyone and didn't realize he was going to expose himself. I bet it kills him knowing how much entertainment he's provided. Which is even better.
Thank you for your pursuit of justice, Chris. You Patriot, you.
It is amazing how this character Fielder was untrustworthy and is now creditable.
I guess The Clarion Ledger was a liberal rag but now a friend to "conservatives".
Hypocrites all.
On the flip side, it's amazing how he was so trustworthy to the McD side, and now he's noncredible. Funny how that goes, huh?
I believe him a whole lot more when he's not being paid to say, I'll say that. He could be lying now, but from the get-go it just felt like he would have said anything for money.
That's what you get for putting your stock in it.
Both, we all know that this type of vote buying is very common in the black community. It happens all over the United States. Politicians understand they are to go to the large Black Churches to dispense funding. Its not new to anyone that is Black or anyone that has worked major campaigns where the candidate needed the Black Vote. In this case, I believe EVERYONE was paid. And if they continue the investigation, the Feds will find that not only were they paid in this case, they have been paid in past elections as well. This is a can of worms that both sides should not have oppened. A lot of people will be exposed. The only good thing about this is people will be a little more hesistant to practive the "pay by head" approach they have been using for many years.
So far as the trustworthiness of this guy. I actually beleived him more the first time around. Why, because I know this type of thing happens. Also, I think he liklihood of lying is greater when he knows he could possibly face jail time. When Hood advised that he, too, could face jailtime, you better beleive that he was going to distance himself from the situation. If he hadn't been faced with jail or led to beleive that he would be incarcerated for telling the story, I would bet his story would not have changed. Furthermore, how do you explain how they knew who to go to get the story. Those of us that have worked campaigns in the Black Community, know full well that there is a GREAT possibility that what this guy initially said is correct. We also know that if it is NOT correct in this election, it definitely has happened in other elections.
I'm not an attorney, but I recently did some forensic accounting work for a client to prove damages whereby he was paid less than contractually agreed amount and that defendent had not acted in good faith. Nothing unusual there.
But in discovery, we further proved that the defendant had lied in depositions and had conspired with co-defendents to create false "evidence" to mitigate damages consequential to the original complaint. The defense committed fraud and conspired with other parties to fraud. A much bigger deal now.
The defendent realized that they had screwed the pooch by creating a criminal case out of a civil complaint by their maneuvering to conspire to deceive the court by creating this fake evidence, which did not exist and was was therefore not discoverable prior to their "cooking the books" and creating corresponding supportive evidence with different media to document. Oops. Hello, metadata.
On the eve of the case going to trial, the defense, realizing the severity of the matter, threw a Hail Mary, making a motion to dismiss based on "Clean Hands" Doctrine, in which they basically admitted to their scheme to defraud the plantiff, citing some simple clerical errors in billing & bookkeeping by plantiff (nominal in amount---less than .15% of the original amount unpaid by defendant)--- as "evidence" that the plantiff had also committed irregularities prior to the defense's fraudulent activities.
Hence, according to the defense, the plantiff's hands were not clean, either, and defense asked judge to throw the case out, as both parties were both at fault.
After the judge denied the motion, the defense agreed to settle out of court for a sizable amount "which included multiple damages, expenses, principal amount plus interest and finally, some anticipated factor of punitive damages, albeit a conservative amount in light of the evidence.
Question: Would a remedy of "Clean Hands" be applicable in MS as a potential case for a "do-over" ?
I know nothing about election law, but it seems that McDaniel's unwillingness to accept ANY responsibility in this cluster-fuck makes fools out of his staff and insults the court, especially where he asks the court to designate him as the "winner" of the election as the preferred remedy.
Not a TeaBagger nor from Jones Co.

According to your screed, wouldn't EVIDENCE would be "easy" to procure by a self-described "Experienced Campaigner within Black Communities" like yourself?
Unfortunately, taking the word of a felon already twice convicted of fraud doesn't seem to meet the bar of PROOF, does it?
Did Stevie even sign a sworn and notarized affedavit? If not, his words in the "interview" with a "pretend journalist" are about as useful as comments made on social media about "what I'm gonna do in the fall election" or in an anonymous exit survey of BLACKS.
Hearsay about evidence is not evidence. Otherwise, every bagger, including their Dear Leader McDildo, would be guilty of election fraud for saying they wouldn't support the Republican candidate if Cochran won the primary and would instead vote for Childers.
Without any evidence to support your opinion, why can you not understand why your own bias makes you sound less like an experienced, professional voice of reason and more like a racist, bigoted redneck? Think.
Back in my day when you lost a close election, you shook the other guy's hand, congratulated him and then went around complaining to your buddies about how you got robbed.

@ August 6, 2014 at 6:25 PM,
Perhaps you missed my point. My point is at a bare minimum, this challenge will expose a problem that has been happening with the Black Votes in elections throughout the United States for years.
I wasn't apart of the alleged Shenanigans associated with this campaign, so I couldn't say with any level of certainty is that which was or is now being stated is true or false. I can only state that the scenario which "The Supposed Preacher" outlines initially is not foreign to anyone that has been closely involved in elections that are determine by Black Voter turnout. Its simply the TRUTH!
By the way, I don't have a dog in this hunt. I could care less which one of them wins or has won the Primary. But, I do care of the maintaing and/or restoring the integrity of the voting process. I do care that their may be a race of people that can only be mobilized when there is a monetary award offered or the threat of a alleged Klansman getting into office. Ithink people should exercise thier rights to vote without all this extra political "Hee-Hawing". Moreover, I think its a sad day and an aweful sad state of affairs when Politicians think it is appropriate to film and display the infirmed. I think its sad that we have so called "grass roots political" idiots that will only tell a story about voting irregularities if they are being paid for a story or if they are being threatened with possible jail time for participating in the pay by vote political schemes that have plagued our nation for so long.
We can pretend that such foolery doesn't happen, but we know full well that it does. We can ignore certain pieces of this "clusterfuk" of an election because we are siding with one side of the other. But, if we are actually being truthful and honest, we will all collectively agree that this election has been an utter mess of chaos riddled with unethical and possible illegal political practices. I will mention just of few of those insane occurences of this disastrous mess of an election (Contined on next post - thread exceeded 4096 characters)
(Continuation from previous post where I exceeded the number of chars)
1. Filming the infirmed Mrs Cochran and publishing it (Ding against McD)
2. McD supporter entering and staying in the locked Hinds county courthouse unattended for hours (another ding against McD)
3. Cochran's campaign workers getting caught destroying Mcd's signs (ding against Cochran)
4. The accusations by the bootleg Preacher of vote buying (double ding against both candidates)
5. The newly formed PAC by the legitimate Minister (but still a black minister, nonetheless) that failed to report such a PAC existed prior to running advertisement then lying about who the contributors to the PAC were -- Another Lying or Confused Preacher (SMH) -- not to mention the extremely low office space rental rates , use of church employees, and Church tax exemption issues) (ding on Cochran)
6. The campaign report that failed to mention a few hundred thousand dollars that was used to "GET OUT THE VOTE" HA!!! I'm sorry, but I had to laught at that one, considering the chain of events that led to this (ding on Cochran)
7. Now we are back at the Bootleg Pastor, that is not recognized as a pastor by his church, now saying (after being questioned by the AG) that he didn't distribute the money that was given to him and he lied. What the HELL??? (Ding on Mcd)
8. Oh wait, did I forget about the state's GOP Party chairman being arrested for a DUI. I can't blame him for needing a drink after this mess, but I also can't help but wonder who knew he would be drinking, sat back in the cut and set that up the stop to publically expose and embarrass? (Ding on both sides)
9. And now we have books upon books of redacted info and evidence of crossover voting. Not to mention Circuit Clerks refusing to turn over the same information that one can get by simply requesting a voter registration list from the state (I wonder why all of a sudden this have become such private info. When you go to vote, you can see everyone’s name on a page. If it is truly that private, why am I able to see the whole darn list when I sign my name) Either that process needs to be reworked or the list is not that private at all (ding on SoS and the Party on this one)
Although McD may appear to be a sore loser or on a witch hunt, I think the best part about all of this is that he and others have shown that the voting process in Mississippi (and others states) is extremely flawed. There are many gaps and opportunities for voter fraud. They should be carefully reviewed, analyzed, and fixed to reduce the risk of such foolery occurring again in the future. NO ONE should be proud of the way this election has been handled. NO ONE!!!!!

1:41 In your last paragraph about
the problems with the voting process there is someone who could has 2 plus years to do something about the problems. Chris McDaniel is THE chairman of the Senate Election Committee in Ms.
He could have done the job he was elected to do but according to some of the people he is close to
the last 2 years has been spent planning his run for U. S. Senate.
Can someone, anyone, post any evidence whatever to support the theory that 'Garriga's retort is going to be brutal'? What has he done, accomplished? Who has he prosecuted or defended with success? What wills has he written? Whose unemployment claim has he won?
I have not heard or read a word about Garriga since Fordice's second term. Have you? Well, wait, he did marry a former on-air television blonde from the metro.
8:02 , kingfisher (the blog owner) gave Garriga a good review, from having seen him in action in court before. But the "key advantage" for Garriga is that he works for Butler Snow, the same law firm slash lobbyist firm which hired former gov Haley Barbour (and also Mike Espy the former congressman -- who was the lawyer defending Madison cty during the election-material-access lawsuits last month).
1:41/1:23, your nastiness-listing (and conclusion that nastiness is extremely counterproductive) is pretty solid. Your assignment of "blame" is a bit faulty in my view, for some of them anyways. You missed some big ones, tho.
10. Allegs of officials not correctly instructing precinct-workers on crosschecking pollbooks (the only way to prevent illegal-double-voting before it happens).
11. Allegs of a vouchers-for-votes (distinct from Fielder’s walking-around-money, in a different county).
12. Allegs that seals on the ballot-boxes, and chain-of-custody for the security thereof, were violated in several counties.
13. Lack of voter-ID on absentee ballots, and an unusually-vast increase in absentee ballots in the runoff (McDaniel lawyers listed over 2000 alleg-invalid absentee ballots in their book-o-evidence, bulk of them being due to having no absentee-ballot-application on file whatsoever).
14. Allegs hundreds of prima-facie-illegal-double-votes were retroactively 'legalized' by the simple method of erasing one of the offending double-votes from the pollbooks, thus 'changing' the certified outcome of the 6/3 d-prime AND the 6/24 r-runoff (but presumably without adjusting the vote-tally certified with the sec state!).
15. Adverts falsely claiming that McDaniel was in the KKK, which were paid for by age-65 dem Ruth Harris and her 4 friends (supposedly nobody else).
16. Flyers falsely tarring McDaniel as a racist, with (illegally) no FEC data listed whatsoever.
5_B. Flyers falsely tarring all tea party folks as racists ("tea party intends to prevent you from voting"), as well as radio-spots encouraging illegal-double-voting ("all registered voters... vote on 6/24"), w/ all the money for this newly-formed PAC coming 100% from Henry Barbour’s pro-Cochran-affiliate MsConservativesPAC. Cf Scooby Doo Warren & Mitzi Bickers.
5_C. Henry saying he had nothing to do with race-baiting, then later backtracking, and now doubling down and saying McDaniel really *is* a racist (despite testimony from stSen folks to the contrary), and that the tea party in general and TrueTheVote in particular are inherently racist, too. RNC members at the national level, with rare exceptions like Ed Martin R-MO, tacitly back this narrative up.
17. Pro-Cochran media, with one-sided coverage that stinks (kingfisher not included ... biased comments, but the blog owner is not to blame).
18. Pro-McDaniel "media" in the form of Chuck Johnson from LAX, who despite uncovering valuable facts, at the same time is unapologetically sensationalist / sleazy and sometimes sloppy in how things are reported.
19. Vocal pro-Cochran commenters, many of whom have now adopted all the dem talking points, more or less verbatim -- calling fiscal conservatives teabaggers, renaming politicians they disagree w/ using crudely twisted versions of their real names, and tarring all tea-conservatives as crazy and/or racist.
20. Vocal pro-McDaniel commenters, who have stooped to the same level -- calling supporters of Eisenhower the pawns of lobbyists, renaming politicians they disagree w/ using crudely twisted versions of their real names, and tarring all Ike-conservatives as evil and/or bought.
Not to mention, ‘acceptable’ nastiness, such as refusal to debate the challenger, unfounded accusations that Cochran supported Common Core (I found zero statements by Cochran on the subject -- after the accusations Cochran said he was against it -- and so did gov Bryant which was a welcome shift in the latter case), and laughably false accusations that McDaniel wasn’t a fiscal conservative.
Call me naive, but I had no idea things could ever get this nasty. That's before even bringing in the Preibus & NRSC scandals! Sigh. Although the seat in MS is still solid for any repub (Childers has no funding and PVI+9 is very hard to overcome even w/ millions), fallout from this nasty primary will ripple well beyond MS & long past '14.
