Second update. MCSO told other media there was one arrest for minor with alcohol, were not 37 cars, and no guns, etc. I didn't write the post but I'm going to stand by the source as he was there. What I THINK probably happened was what he said took place did indeed happen but before the police arrived. There are several posts on twitter testifying to the fights. Anyway, decide for yourself. I've posted everything law enforcement said to e and others.
Update. Address appears to be in the county, not the city of Ridgeland. Law enforcement sources told me the crowd was around 1,000 people and at that point the police just wanted to get the crowd out of there in a semi-orderly fashion. If they saw something though, they made the arrests. Attempts to contact Sheriff Randy Tucker and Chief Jimmy Houston have been unsuccessful. KF.
Officers from Ridgeland, Jackson, Madison and the Madison County Sheriff's office (about 37 cars altogether) came together to bust up a large party of teens and young adults at a gathering of several hundred in Ridgeland on Hickory Road, just a few hours ago. It was the "Project LJ" party (Project X type). Many fights broke out, and when guns were shown, things got out of hand.
From what I can gather from 3 at the party, no shots were fired. However, the party was so large, the officers started telling those there to "leave-there's too many of you to arrest". More information when and if available. I did see one video of the officer's cars, but so far, nothing else.
Canton's own "2 Gutta" and Leto boys were spotted.
If you have information, please feel free to share in the comments. Pictures from the party are below. Check out Twitter. Use projectlj hashtag.

Trollfest '09
Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.
Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).
Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.
Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".
In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.
In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.
Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.
Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!
This is definitely a Beaver production.

Trollfest '07
Jackson Jambalaya is the home of Trollfest '07. Catch this great event which promises to leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Sonjay Poontang and his band headline the night with a special steel cage, no time limit "loser must leave town" bout between Alan Lange and "Big Cat"Donna Ladd following afterwards. Kamikaze will perform his new song F*** Bush, he's still a _____. Did I mention there was no referee? Dr. Heddy Matthias and Lori Gregory will face off in the undercard dueling with dangling participles and other um, devices. Robbie Bell will perform Her two latest songs: My Best Friends are in the Media and Mama's, Don't Let Your Babies Grow up to be George Bell. Sid Salter of The Clarion-Ledger will host "Pin the Tail on the Trial Lawyer", sponsored by State Farm.
There will be a hugging booth where in exchange for your young son, Frank Melton will give you a loooong hug. Trollfest will have a dunking booth where Muhammed the terrorist will curse you to Allah as you try to hit a target that will drop him into a vat of pig grease. However, in the true spirit of Separate But Equal, Don Imus and someone from NE Jackson will also sit in the dunking booth for an equal amount of time. Tom Head will give a reading for two hours on why he can't figure out who the hell he is. Cliff Cargill will give lessons with his .80 caliber desert eagle, using Frank Melton photos as targets. Tackleberry will be on hand for an autograph session. KIM Waaaaaade will be passing out free titles and deeds to crackhouses formerly owned by The Wood Street Players.

WOW
Were there any violations of the law?
"many fights broke out" = "assault" = "violation of the law".
Comprehension problem?
Mississippi's largest metro area and it's freakish problems. Take a bunch of relatively spoiled white kids whose parents wish desperately for their offspring to NOT be any or all things Mississippi as they revel in their private school snobbery and gated neighborhoods, throw in the inner-city black kids from Jackson whom the white kids think are generally hip and cool and want to be like, and there you have your culture. Thank God I live on the Coast!!!
You think this doesn't happen on the Coast? What dope are YOU on?
Where in Ridgeland is Hickory Road?
For starters, most white kids here on the Coast actually attend the public schools, in fact, some of the best one's in the state are down here, Ocean Springs, Pass Christian, Long Beach, Biloxi. Most private schools tend to be Catholic. I have never opened the newspaper one day in the last 10 years here and read where police departments from 4 different municipalities have had to come to a scene and break-up a party of hundreds of youth at one time in any of the 3 Coastal counties, where firearms were involved. I have never even read where that has occurred even during our public Mardi Gras events. Your culture and management of your civic order in the Jackson metro area is a disaster, by far the worst in the state. A quick check of the social media pages of the high school kids in the metro area yesterday would have alerted the parents and authorities to this party last night. Your whole societal structure in Hinds, Madison, and Rankin counties is a disaster, and shows that there is effectively ZERO leadership on the part of parents, governments, churches, business leaders, and political leaders.
Oh, so all those shoplifting athletes at Ocean Springs were great kids? Again, what dope are YOU on?
My son went to a huge party on the Coast last year in the fall. It was out off Hwy 53(?) somewhere by soccer fields. He said there were cars parked for miles and no cops.
And what about Black Spring Break?
I imagine that more white kids from gated Madison County neighborhoods who attend private schools try and shoplift from the stores at the "Renaissance" shopping complex, built with stolen Katrina funding-mechanisms meant for areas that actually EXPERIENCED Katrina in the state, in a week than total cost of goods stolen in a year in ocean springs. Why your preoccupation with dope, is it because it is such a large part of your metro area culture up there friend?
The word "dope" just came to mind reading your drivel.
9:39am, Did your son say that many fights broke out and firearms were brandished at the Coast party? Black Spring Break is something that is well publicized, it's dates are known in advance by the community, law enforcement, businesses and governments, and it is properly planned for and supervised by the community. I did not read in the last couple of years down here where huge crowds of underage youth were fighting and brandishing firearms at any of their events.
Well, I am not inclined to get into any arguments here among friends whom I mostly agree with every day. If I have offended anyone, I apologize. I just know what I see and read, perhaps I should be more open to understanding the Metro area's diverse population as pertains to it's "youth" of today.
To Coast Rat: I read with great amusement your post accusing police, elected officials and everyone else in the metro area of dereliction of duty for preventing a large gathering of people. I get it. Now that you people have realized you can't get a statewide elected official from the Coast, you think you have to say that kids don't act like that down there. We all know they do, with drunk drivers, meth heads, murderers in no short supply there either. And why is nearly every single child molester in the paper from Jackson County or Hancock County?
The first black spring break was pretty bad. Fights galore. Women were beaten. I think one was even stripped of her clothes if I remember correctly. The Sun-Herald covered it pretty well and published quite a few photos of it.
Guys and girls, I would love to see the Metro area of the Capitol Region of Mississippi deal with the influx of millions of tourists per year coming into a relatively small geographical area, with a plethora of casinos, parades, events, shopping, beach-going,bar hopping, etc. all going on ALL THE TIME, deal with this as effectively as we do down here. THREE Coast counties account for one-third of all state revenues every year in this state. Your comments about a statewide politician being elected from the Coast has nothing at all to do with what I am saying. But, thump your chest if you need to, we don't need to do that on the Coast, we already laugh at your government-laden and dysfunctional region!!!
I've lived on the coast. I'm glad you like it. I moved to the metro area because I didn't want my children to grow up on the coast. To each his own.
10:39 The child molesters aren't tourists
Anyone ever heard of Freaknik? I remember while in grad school sitting in a parking lot on I75 just south of Mills Moore road. They were BBQing, having sex, drinkin'... Looked like fun, except for the fact it was on a 12 lane interstate.
The suggestion that either area is safer or has less issues regarding dysfunction or ineptitude is ridiculous and manifested by insecurity.
The message @ July 28, 2012 11:08 AM brought to you by an anonymous holier-than-thou windbag.
Really 11:20? Bless your heart!
methinks there be some from more southern latitudes that need to recognize the hypocrisy of their condescending snobbery... well their weak attempt at it, anyway
Well, 3,000 youths, all run-off with apparently no one killed or seriously injured, let this Coast Rat be the first to say job well done to Madison County and the various law enforcement agencies involved. Parents, please try and persuade your kids to find better means of entertainment on Friday nights that are safer and better sanctioned.
Funny their are more cow pastures on Hickory Road than there are home. I really can't see a wild party on Hickory Road. Most of the people who live out there are releated to one another.
Hickory Road IS NOT IN RIDGELAND. It is in Madison County off Lake Castle Road(south of Lake Castle) between Richardson Road and North Livingston.
I'll bet 9:40 didn't have that attitude when he/she was benefiting from the hundreds of inland Mississippians that stopped everything to help our coastal neighbors.
I went to that party!!! it was amazing!!!!!!!!! there was plenty of room for the people to party but not enough room for them to park all of their cars!
Glad the kids had fun. Reminds me of the Ole Canton area "Green Lizard" parties back in the late 70's.
What really would fix this situation is if we keep tearing each other down like this. I mean it's not like we should stick together when the majority of the country looks down on us as if we are all stupid?
But yeah, keep up the good work guys, and divide the state to look down on each other like this when really we don't know all that much about how the coast operates or how central Mississippi operates. We'll prove the rest of the world wrong this way!!
Who is the property owner that allowed his place to be leased out for this thuggalicious good time?
Regional differences within any state will always exist.
Basically it's all in fun for each region to trash talk each other. In Louisiana: "NOLA & Baton Rouge v. Alexandria & Monroe "
I don't see any Gulf Coast / Jackson metro area confrontation . These are two separate planets.
The bitter Coast Rat is probably pissed that his/her Kiln meth lab was washed away.
As I said, just trash talk'n .
This is ridiculous. It was a party. Thrown by college kids, intended for college kids. Of course high schoolers showed up, but the majority of the population was college kids just having fun. Just because a few dumbasses decided to ruin everything doesn't mean that everyone in attendance was a hoodlum of "thugalicious." Who cares? It was a party! And the fact that this has started an argument about different regions is ridiculous. Don't you people have something better to do with your time?

To all it concerns it was a party that's all it has nothing to do with government and the police couldn't stop the party because it was private property and to the person who loves the coast so much it's not just rich white kids and inner city black kids if you actually had your facts straight you would know that we're actually all quite rich that why we're the richest county in Mississippi so our government must not be that bad for us to have that title. And yes I was at the party it was fun there were fights but no one had a gun

Again, I hope the kids had fun. No guns at the Green Lizard parties back in the late 70's.
Maybe a few Bongs from Be-Bop, but no guns .
Back in the day I used to go to some pretty wild frat parties out in the country. Boy, did we have some good times. I don't guess there were 1,000people there, but there were several hundred people I some of them I attended. Cops never bothered us either, and boy were they fun.
"Those were the days my friends, those were the days."
As I axed earlier, what laws, if any, were broken. Kingfish says there were rumors of guns but no gunfire. And he didn't talk to the police so there's no conformation that any law was broken.
God forbid a bunch It's the same as Madison cops pulling people over at midnight just for the hell of it.
Dear Shadow. DWF, me, posted this from a first hand account. Fighting, loud music, parking all over the place for miles, at least two guns were seen, and underage drinking and possession of alcohol.
Chestavion,
I would guess you are in college, since you said you were at the college party. Since you are in college, I would say it is the legislators' fault. We should pass legislation that outlaws any dumb ass that writes a paragraph long run on sentence. We have failed you and your parents. For goodness sakes check into the workforce training at a local Juco when you flunk out. I for one do not want to be paying for you to party on welfare in the NEAR future.
Rut ro.
And the "Muricans" think that they are sooooo exceptional.
I read in the local newspaper(H'Burg American) that an ad agency in Jackson received a $48,000 dollar grant to improve Jackson's image, saying that " Jackson's upside was its cultural diversity."
I imagine that within the next 20 years I will ride through Ridgeland and Madison and laugh at all of those plastic-looking storefronts with that cheap dryvit finish on the columns at the gas stations and that cheap fake-looking crap they try and hide cell towers with and laugh at the bars on the windows and doors!!!
chestavion stovall: thank you very much for making my earlier points regarding your region and culture.
7:57 where are the well-off and educated people going in 20 years? Back to Jackson? Pearl? I don't think so.
Last time I checked this wasn't a college essay, but since I'm so dumb, even though I'm going to school on an academic scholarship, you should check your own grammar because You don't even know how to spell run-on in a sentence. So I laugh at people like you who don't have any lives but thanks for your little input loser I've never met before and by the way my parents did quite fine with me but I wouldn't say the same for you anonymous 6:32
I lol'd at this poverty party. Strong Project X wanna be.

It has nothing to do with a college essay. I has to do with being able to properly communicate with another human being without requiring them to read your comments over and over just to decipher what the subject matter of your comment was.
Perhaps you could put as much effort into your communications skills as you do in the designs in your hair.
You scored a 21 on the ACT and are on an academic scholarship? Is it a scholarship to an online college?
Another JFP Intern rambles meaningless nonsense .
DWF, My goodness! People parking everywhere and loud music. But wait, you said there was underaged possession of alkeehaul. Were you carding the participants? Did you notice lustful intent on the brow of any of the young men and did you raise your hand for them this morning in church? My God! These people will soon be voting if they're not already.
At least we now know what warped Kaptain Kangaroot so many years ago. The sight of people having sex on a 12 lane interstate.
Lol thanks for stalking me anonymous 6:59, and by the way that was the score I made on the act the first time I took it. I will definitely be attending a real school, not one that is online. I would love to hear about your ACT score and all the things you've accomplished in your life, which probably not much since you are indeed anonymous. But I'll be the mature one here and not trash talk someone anonymously like you are. If you have anything else you want to say, you clearly know how to find me.
Thank you. :)
The wealthy will move straight north, west of 55 all the way to hwy 16 and probably even further north or continue down up lakeland. Plenty of undeveloped land that is not in the hood. There will need to be more private schools though.
It was te BEST party EVER !!!!
moople: One need not be 'wealthy' to live north of Jacktown, west of 55. Sure, there are lots of folks in that area who ARE, but also many, many, many who are not. Where there's a will (to get out) there's a way (to get out).
Shadowthumper I don't remember arguing that point. Quit fishing for a debate or bring a valid argument.
Is JJ now appealing to misguided college students who think an ACT score is somehow credibility? I have to laugh at that one!

Im one of the guys that threw the party and it was hands down one of the best house parties this state has seen. Bottom line this state cant stand for black kids to join with white kids to have a good time. I don't understand why people on the coast think they are so much better when the youth there dont have a clue. It's fine though. we will move our parties to the clubs in Starkville and Oxford and we will hit the coast up for a house party of the century very soon so be ready!!
Hey 10:05,
Since you are such a savant on scholy at your university, and want to correct people on their grammar, check your own before you make a fool out of yourself, again. When did we start capitalizing a word in the middle of a sentence. You big P.O.S. You are such a tool!
Regards,
Every English Teacher You've Had
As far as I am concerned, it was a party, nothing more. Are we living in such a police state that parties are now becoming "thugalicious"?
I have no idea who has the worst crime rate, the metro or the coast, and I really don't care. I DO know that the Ridgeland Police Department and the Madison County authorities are a bunch idiots. They conduct high speed chases through neighborhoods over the most trivial instances, they catcall the females they arrest, and on and on.
Madison County has the most corrupt lae enforcement community in Mississippi, hands down.
