There is nothing wrong with your radio.

Clear Channel flexed its muscle and pulled all programming from WJNT and moved it to Clear Channel stations. Included are Rush, Hannity, and Beck. Clear Channel owns Premier, which is the largest syndicator of radio talk show programming. Premier has the rights to Rush, Hannity, Art Bell show, Jim Rome, Dr. Laura, and others. Don't know yet where Rush and Hannity will appear today. Stay tuned.

Put a fork in WJNT if they've lost Limbaugh.

Anonymous said...

Do they own that Yabba Dabba Do station where Kim Wade is now?

Anonymous said...

At least something has interrupted jowl-flapping Limburger, even if it is for a short time.

Anonymous said...

WJDX 620's website says it will be carrying Limbaugh.

Anonymous said...

Too bad for you Limbaugh will still be on the air in Jackson today over @ 620 AM. You could hit the archives up over @ the JFP to listen to Donna & Todd over and over again.

listen to Kim Wade and JT and Dave and youll be fine

"Progressive" envy on display.

Anonymous said...

Wasn't Dave shown the door?

Just heard a Hannity promo on 620.

Somebody please tell me where I can find Laura Ingraham. WJNT is now running Fox News Talk, and I have NO desire to listen to Glenn Beck.

Lil help? Thanks.

Clear channel grabbed up dan patrick & moved him to 1590, where Rome will be, too. WHERE IS. LAURA INGRAHAM?

Anonymous said...

Laura will be on WJNT at 11 from now until? head to head with Rush.

Anonymous said...

WJNT weekday changes:

9-11a - Kilmeade and Friends
11a-2p - Laura Ingraham
2p-5p - Jerry Doyle

Anonymous said...

Dan Patrick is a bore.

Anonymous said...

Dang, mornings won't be the same without Laura Ingraham at 9.

Bring her back to the 9 AM slot. My Diet Coke just dosen't taste the same.

So if she's going head to head with Rush at 11, were and when can we hear El Rusbo ??

Anonymous said...

620 am at 11 a.m.

Anonymous said...

Idiots @ WJNT would have been better off giving Kim Wade 3 hours than running Jerry Doyle afternoons. But they've never been known for smart over there.

J. Kev said...

Man, putting Laura against Rush is just stupid.

Sigh.

Anonymous said...

I guess I live in a cave...don't know who Dan Patrick is or Jerry Doyle.

Anonymous said...

Kilmeade ads started running last week: "Starting October 3!".

I wondered how they were going to make room for him; now we know.

How strong is the signal from 620 AM? Wasn't that an ESPN channel?

Stopped listing to JNT in the afternoons when Kim W left. Listened every morning until they pulled Rick & Bubba so now JNT is no longer on the radio at home, in the car, or at work.

Mornings use to be great-Rick & Bubba then Kent & Larry. Don't bother going to that channel anymore because of the changes.

Anonymous said...

Will still listen to JNT in the morning since they dumped Rick and Bubba and their American Idol/TMZ/Suburban Birmingham Housewife fluff. If I want to hear a couple of rednecks talk about reality TV and amp up the phony laughter, there are a dozen other "morning zoo" programs on the dial.

Also, does anyone take more vacation time than R&B? I wish I could take 2 weeks for Christmas, a week for Spring break, a week for Easter, and 2 weeks in the summer for a job that requires me to work 5 hours a day.

WSJ is a good program and Kilmeade is decent, but Laura I. is a dud and Jerry Doyle? Please!

JNT never did exploit their Limbaugh contract well. They never used the muscle of Limbaugh to sell ads, so it's probably better this way, but I agree that JNT is done without Rush.

Two words: Vertical Monopoly.

1590 AM, another talk station, is off the air this afternoon.

Any connection to this story, or just technical problems?

Anonymous said...

i entered Rush withdrawl, so glad to know 620 can give me a fix tomorrow. Laura is toast if up against the 'great one'. May Beck and Rush live forever!

I tuned in for Limbaugh today at 11:10 and got Laura Ingraham. I thought she might be subbing instead of that goofy Englishman and immediately flipped back to 102.9. If Supertalk made this decision locally, it must have been in concert with Phil Bryant since they rarely take one step forward and two steps back without his approval.

Shadowfax said...

For those of us who drive regularly, finding and retaining a Limbaugh signal is always difficult. But, there's always French Camp Gospel and 99.1 is cool if headed south of Ridgeland toward HBurg. And for those of you who miss the arrogant and hateful 'Dave' of JT & Dave, you can still pick up his wife on Gallo's channel at 8:00 on Saturday and pretend to hear him through some sort of osmosis.

Best 1-2 punch in Jackson radio is Kim Wade lead in to Michael Savage. Bar None.

Anonymous said...

Kim Wade is bogus and a joke as a realtor. Maybe we have a silent liberal majority in Mississippi.

Dante said...

When possible, I prefer listening to Limbaugh on his website. AM stations signals are too iffy.

Shadowfax said...

Dante: If I sat in Krystal restaurants all day long with my laptop, I could follow your lead. However, I don't.

Yall understand that Kim Wade was fired from JNT for using his show as a platform to bash others in his personal profession.

Taking Rush off JNT was not something they wanted to do, they were forced out of the contract by a "power play" by a bigger conglomerat. It's not a liberal conspiracy like everyone is saying.

Anonymous said...

Maybe we have a silent liberal majority in Mississippi.

We don't. You'll have additional proof on November 8th. That type of pipe dreaming is probably best smoked over at the JFP online.

You may find Wade bogus but the number of peeps he reaches of all persuasions is stratospherically exponential to yours.

Everyone?

Yall understand that Kim Wade was fired from JNT for using his show as a platform to bash others in his personal profession.

So what?

Anyone know where Lou Dobb's show ended up? This morning 620 and 1590 were both running sports shows, and 103.9 FM was running a rerun of last night's Michael Savage. I may end up re-subscribing to XM.

Anonymous said...

None of these changes have anything to do with WYAB.

"Stopped listing to JNT in the afternoons when Kim W left. Listened every morning until they pulled Rick & Bubba so now JNT is no longer on the radio at home, in the car, or at work."

Pretty much the same here. Bit by bit the station has lost my interest. Talk about a fading signal . . .

Anonymous said...

Doesn't he mindless Rick and Bubba garbage still air in this market on another station?

Anonymous said...

Friends and listners: I've been asked to report that effective next Monday, Kingfish and Donna Ladd will merge their publications (and attitudes) and appear only in the Jackson Advocate.

Anonymous said...

Rick & Bubba are on 930 AM in the morning now.

Anonymous said...

Rick -n- Bubba are a good fit for Jackson Academy radio.

Anonymous said...

I, too, stopped listening this station after Kim Wade was booted. Don't care what they do now.

Shadowfax said...

I can't tolerate the self-serving, giggly, Rick and Bubba show with their fake, periodic assertions of Godliness. Glad some of you can. Kim Wade long ago became solid boredom when it was obvious he had no guests and such repetitive daily bitches and gripes, primarily about the Jacktown regulations that are crafted to bring him and his businesses down.

Just listened to Limbaugh on 620 (I believe it was). Isn't this primarily a sports talk station? But, it was good to get the hell away from Laura Ingraham. Then over to a bit of 'Dave R' on Supertalk to get my head straight. Now for wings and beer...

Anonymous said...

Pot-Kettle-Shadowfax complaining about repetition. Go figure.

Anonymous said...

Convincing Kim Wade to come their station was the best call the owners of WYAB 103.9 FM
could have made.

I hope 103.9 FM can soon boost their signal to a larger area.

BTW , Oct 3rd @ 9:29 pm , please get back to your normal ntern assignment at the JFP. Donna needs you to run around the corner and
get her another Fondren Frappe.

Shadowfax said...

I'm glad, now, that these programming changes were made. It gave me an opportunity to bypass Ingraham, find Savage, tune in to the new Kilmead show and listen to Rush on a better signal. I also accidentally found Beck whom I'll continue to keep on 'hide'. No reason to go to 1180 a.m. at all now unless I have a burning need to hear Larry rant on blacks in Hinds County, as if.

Anonymous said...

Ha! JT & Dave...what bunch of dopes. Radio airwaves have never been better since that show was canned.
And Kim 'Bony Finger' Wade? Gawd, doubling his airtime was a biggg boo-boo. Now he has to fill the dead times in between his 5 callers with something- which leads him into freestyling more of the same ole malarkey and shilling for one thing or another.

Odd statement considering the wall-to-wall volume of calls he fields. Sounds like envy is eating you alive like a cancer.

If you have a show somewhere, radio or online, let us know so that we can listen to how a master works his call rope.

8:58 KIM! You crazy bugger! wall-to-wall callers? Ya dont say

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.

Dr. Heddy Matthias and Lori Gregory will face off in the undercard dueling with dangling participles and other um, devices.
