Another JPD hard-luck story.

Local attorney Jane Tucker sent me this report she wrote on her experience with Jackson's criminal justice system after a con man ripped off several car dealers last week. Enjoy.

Saw says he needs friends! Imagine that.

Where were you before a crime was committed against you on getting criminals off the street M.I.A. No one cares until they are a victim blame JPD as usual. Let the investigation to it's course first .

Meanwhile let's dump another $125 million of bond debt into a downtown hotel and $150 million more into an arena money pit and tell everyone that Jackson must, must, must, must, must do all that to save the city.

Instead of getting damn JPD fixed let's do beer and burgers downtown after work then tell everyone Jackson is wonderful!

I'm sure the downtown crowd will be quick to disavow that Mr. Tucker's car lot isn't downtown but that it is somehow south of downtown. Yeah, right.

Why do you think the population of the suburbs is rising and the population of Jackson is declining? Poor law enforcement and city leadership. Yesterday CL posted the home statistics for property vacancy in the metro area. The numbers do not lie. The area will continue to have a crime problem(not a race problem) until JPD and the city leadership does a better job.

As the letter says "Good Luck Jacksonians."

JPD needs a better type of leadership this administration did nothin but fire officer. They did nothing to further the education on their people. Buddies are promoted and the officer who are capable to do the job are leaving and going to other departments.

dont blame young people trying to host fun events downtown,, they are doing everything they can to attract young proffesionals to the area, both black and white young normal people working together... its not their fault their leaders are bozos

If y'all would listen to Dorsey Carson then you'd understand that Demario is our fault because we wouldn't agree to jack up taxes to fully fund MAEP. In Dorsey's warped worldview crime is the fault of the victims for not coughing up the green anytime the House Donkeycrats demand it. Vote for Dorsey 'cause payback is a bitch.

Oh, please, not the young professionals crap. Lord help us.

Maybe Councilman Twitterwell can incorporate this alert into his daily fusillade of self-promoting tweets.

Remember we have to help him help them which helps us because we helped him help them.

Anon 12:39 "Oh, please, not the young professionals crap. Lord help us." Another term is "Hipsters" LOL

Sorry for the off topic post...

Why do people keep complaining about Jackson crime and the JPD?

The real question is, "Why do you keep banging your head against that concrete wall, Moron?"

Answer, "Because it feels so good when I stop."

And welcome to Rankin and Madison Counties.

Only in Jackson.

We've got a mayor who's too arrogant to admit there's a problem because to do so would indicate a failure on his part. A twice-retired campus cop pretending to lead the state's largest police department. A 500-pound "chief of patrol" who is qualified only to patrol buffet lines.

That's why we have this situation. This guy is running around grinning like a possum eating sh!t while JPD "detectives" stand around looking stupid.

It's also why we have thug bars on Capitol, an illegal rooftop bar on top of the Millsaps building, a dance club/whorehouse run by a Rankin County stripper across the street, etc. etc. etc.

And the whole time Whitwell sits at City Council meetings playing with his twitter, Margaret Barrett Simon sits there with that glazed look on her face like she's wondering if Dewey's gonna beat Truman, and the other 3 rename stuff.

Welcome to Jackson.

Crowley that is Hilarious about the chiefs you cant make that stuff up. The only reason your case is being looked at is because you went to the media. JPD is a dog and pony show. Detectives go through no special training or are tested for the position, they are just patrolmen in plain clothes. That department is the laughing stock of law enforcement. The City needs a makeover from the mayor to the police but its not gone happen because of the "Keeping it Black " theme of jackson.

Update: Robert Smith, the District Attorney, is working the case and skipping JPD. So, at least there's progress on the case.

And for the illiterate twit who is accusing me of being MIA until now: If you followed any blogs, you would have read the Jane vs drug dealer vs. HUD saga seven years ago. Two years ago I spent nine months trying to get an illegal personal care home operator out of business. Couldn't get anyone to give a shit about that until someone at the home poured water on a client on the coldest night of the year and she froze to death. There's plenty more I could report but it's all the same crap.

Now I understand why Harvey's first act in office was to cancel the TV show "48 Hours" from following the JPD as they investigate crimes. Lord help us if the rest of the country should learn what we all know....

I didn't watch the CNN story, but do you think they would have interviewed officers from JPD....NOT!

"dont blame young people trying to host fun events downtown,, both black and white young normal people working together, getting drunk and sitting cross-legged at the feet of Mal and Pal, promising to be good Presbyterians and embrace homosexuality in the priesthood... its not their fault their leaders are bozos and wear wingtips."

Now that right there is funny.

Thanks for this info.

Why in the f__k would any one take a $ 13,000.00 , or $ 8,000.00 check on anyone you don't know well?

I can't take those kind of hits. Make them go get a cashiers check!

you know, it didn't used to be like this 50 or 60 years is almost like hoards of criminals swept across the South devouring everything in their path...

Demario called me to let me know he'd hired an attorney to pursue his misidentification defense (which seems to conflict with his defense on Monday that he got confused and wrote the check on the "wrong account"). His attorney is some guy 5 years out of law school who works in California. He has lots of web presence though. I called the attorney and he has not yet accepted his case. I let him know he need accept ONLY cash from Mr. Walker.
All I can say for sure is that Demario hangs out in some dimension other than the one the rest of us inhabit.

I forgot to add, Demario gave me his attorney's name and phone number. The phone number was correct but poor Demario does not appear to know his own attorney's name which is Michael Trevino and NOT Mark Trepano.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
