Hmmm....where have we heard this before?

Ruth Ingram reports in yes, the Clarion-Ledger that Airwave may not be telling the whole story about the services it provides under its multi-million dollar contracts with Hinds County:

"Jackson-based company Airwave LLC maintains on almost a daily basis the city of Jackson's emergency radio communications system, an Airwave representative told Hinds County supervisors this week.>

But city officials say that's not so, and that the work is done by a city employee or Motorola, the manufacturer of the equipment that's under warranty through 2012...

City of Jackson spokesman Chris Mims said Airwave has not maintained the city's radios.

City employee "David (Pirman) is still dealing with the radios themselves owned by the city," Mims said. "He (Pirman) provides that maintenance and deals directly with Motorola on those. We're still under warranty with Motorola, so they provide maintenance."

Airwave representative Nathan Hargrove said Tuesday that he can't speak to any maintenance being done on radios by Jackson city employees - but that Airwave does service them. "I don't know that that's a contradiction," he said of Jackson employees repairing the city's radios.

"What I try to stay focused on is that we have an agreement in place for the repair of all the radios that Hinds County buys with 911 funds. The responsibility is ours," Hargrove said. "There are occasions where we repair equipment for the city of Jackson, like we do for everyone else." (Typical Hargrove-speak. Long on words, long on technical-sounding discussion but very short on actual applicable facts.). Article

Hmmm......... where have we heard this before? Nice get by Ms. Ingram. Probably a pattern as Cheryl Lasseter reported something similar WLBT a few months ago that was about Airwave but not the Jackson issue reported by Ms. Ingram:

Typical of the Ledger. Considering the sheer volume of regurgitated AP and USAToday content Davey's outfit runs they must not have thought anyone would notice when they ripped off from the real investigative outfits like WLBT and JJ if they regurgitated those stories months later.

So, Kingfish, has "Lieutenant" Graham put the word out that Stowers is not allowed to speak to the press? Or as a bullshit artist himself is the "Lieutenant" merely fond of the way that Hargrove can dish the bullshit?

Actually I give Ruth credit for this one. She was at the meeting Monday, heard the exchange, and checked with the city. City said here is the rest of the story.

No offense to all you people who want to bash the CL for fun, but those are two different stories. One is about Hargrove lying to the board of supervisors about how his company maintains the city of Jackson's radios on almost a daily basis. The other is about maintenance on Hinds County sites. While they are both exposing further information on the shady dealings of Airwave and Northstar and the BoS, they are clearly not the same story.
And if you think the CL rips off "real" investigative outlets like WLBT, please note also how often television outlets read straight from the pages of the Ledger.
Bash if you want, but if you don't give credit when it's due, it completely negates the weight of your argument.

You make a good point and I wasn't clear enough. I'll clarify. My point was there is a pattern developing. They can't check what Airwawve does in one story and then in another the City busts them. Nice catch.

(Haha... oops... but still we obviously need editors...)

That last post was from me. Not Kingfish. Go ahead, bash away. I deserve it this time. =D

Go look now. Better?

The last two posters, anon and KF, appear to be dancing the light fantastic for the benefit of each other. The readers of this blog can't keep up with that level of vagueness. "We didn't post it, you did, heh heh". What's up with that crap?

KF,

Thanks for keeping the "spotlight" on the f__g being given to Hinds County by Hargrove and Stowers.

These two assholes and the Hinds County supervisors that support them, make Jesse James look like a choir boy.

They're even giving ole' Edwin Edwards a run for his money!!

This disgracful conduct has been going on for months and years and nothing seems to be done about it! First, let me clarify that this message is about 3 members of the BOS and not the BOS as a whole. At almost 60 years of age I thought that I had seen alot of corruption by local officials. But,the Hinds County BOS takes the prize! They are worse than what we have all seen on a national level as far as I am concerned. The fact that they could look taxpayers in the eye and have the nerve to think we will all swallow this corruption is unthinkable. They were put in that office to be public servants, charged with a duty to represent the hard working taxpayers of Hinds County!! Yet, they are in office to forward their own personal agendas and bank accounts. How dare them! I wish I could go to the BOS meeting and give them a piece of my mind. Shame on them!!!!

Calling Lt. Graham, Calling Lt. Graham. Police Department Down! said...

I'm sure "Lieutenant" Robert Graham of the Jackson Police Department is following this story closely.

But by early October, the radios still had not arrived. "I was told there was a problem with batteries at the factory. The factory would not ship the order without the batteries. I've since talked to one of the reps from E.F. Johnson. They've told me they were not going to ship the radios because E.F. Johnson was no longer in partnership with Northstar Wireless," he [Raymond Police Chief Jason Crotwell] says.

Chief Crotwell tells us it appears Hargrove was untruthful with him, and he hopes he won't have to begin the approval process all over again, which could take longer than three months.

If it is any consolation Chief Crotwell it appears that Hargrove crony capitalist insider "Lieutenant" Graham hasn't been truthful with Hinds County taxpayers and District 1 voters either. Graham's not really all that interested in public safety as evidenced by his continuing strongarm tactics regarding Byram PD.

Graham has always been something of an unusual police officer. You see every time the Chief would put him on the street he'd mess up bad enough to get thrown right back into dispatch.

Robert Graham is not a police officer , He was a reserve . He never attended an academy period . It's an insult to real police that he claims to be the police. He is and always will be a dispatcher . Toy cop .

How easily we are fooled. I can remember, going back years ago, thinking Graham appeared to be so credible when he would give the crime updates or report (for the city) on happening criminal activity in Jacktown. He sure appeared more credible than Conduloo Green or the campus cop chief. Maybe he plateaued out then and should have stayed at that level. Peter Principle indeed.

When a small child is bad, you blame the parent, not the child. Politicians (and people, and corporations) are going to try and get away with what they can whenever they can. The fault lies with the people who are tasked with (and paid for) being the "watchdog" for this kind of behavior. If we want things to change, we shouldn't go after the Van Leonards of the world, we should go after the Bar. We shouldn't bother railing about the Robert Grahams of the world, we should hold the person accountable who is supposed to be holding Robert Graham accountable. Who's supposed to be protecting us from this and why aren't they doing it? THAT'S where we should shine our spotlights.

- Although, I admit, one must first discover and investigate the original act and actor, and get people "riled up" enough to exert pressure on those tasked with prosecuting. I'm just saying "mission accomplished" in that regard. Let's move to phase two.

I agree. It's high time we place the blame squarely where it belongs. Jones and Pete Boone!

Damnit KF we are SICK of the ShadowFax BOZO. Please cull his ass. He is a dumbass boring SOB.

Anonymous said...

That's funny. I've actually been thinking that SFax is, in general, getting better.

Anonymous said...

Who in the hell says, "BOZO," anymore? That term is from decades ago that it is almost un-PC.

It's so out of tune--and so KF. KF, you posted that, didn't you?

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
