How low can you go? Harmon home now listed for $225,000

Linda Harmon's former home on 2027 Petit Bois is again listed for sale. How low can it go? This home was sold (An earlier post showed how mortgage fraud probably took place.) in December 2006 for $900,000. A payment was never made and the home later went into foreclosure. It was sold in September 2008 for $373,500. The house was then put up for sale at $369,900 (see picture of listing in this post). The home was then listed a two months ago for $275,000. Unfortun- ately for the home, the merry-go-round continues as it is now listed for $225,000. Oh, and Ms. Harmon? She is still in custody in Williamson County Tennessee. See earlier post

$900000 was unbelievable, but this is even more unbelievable.
Wish I could buy it for investment. It has great bones and a good floor plan . Just needs someone with a little imagination and taste to give it more eye appeal, in and out...something those who have had it seem to have lacked.

Sounds like a real deal if the house doesn't have foundation problems or some other major problem. If not, it will sell quickly.

Too much product available to bet it will sell quickly.

Did I mention the River Hills Tennis Courts are literally the back yard?

Wasn't there a big sign hanging on the back of the place some months back that was visible from Lakeland?

Kingfish said...

Yup. could see it from Cups in the Quarter when I went there.

hate to break to you but ms harmon is no socialist, in fact I never heard of her , but she is a little cute.

Who appraises properties like this that there is such a decrease in value in such a short time? Surely in '06 there was an appraisal to support a 900k mortgage? And now it's for sale for about a third of that?

Looks like the roof has those ugly black streaks. I think it's some kind of mildew. To me it just kills the curb appeal of a house.

What is Ms. Harmon in custody for in TN? You may have said already but I must have missed it.

If I bought this property, I would definitely get my own owner's title policy.

click on the links to earlier posts.

I'm told an appraiser's esignature was forged when it sold for $900K.

The pity is this price is bad for the valuation of homes in the neighborhood which is part of the Eastover Homeowner's Association and which also has an active neighborhood association as is evidenced by the improvement in the entrance.

The convenience of the neighborhood is also a huge plus. It's a neighborhood of professionals of note.

Katrina and at least one hail storm has taken place since the house was built. I expect that explains what you see on the roof. Likely does need replacing now but it shouldn't cost a $100000!

It's a shame the out of state owners just haven't had the advice or knowledge on this house to do " right" by it.

Linda definitely wasn't a socialist and one of the previous articles blogger responses suggested her parents were millionaires. That isn't true either. Her father was an ATF agent and her mother stayed at home.

The hail storm took place while Linda owned it if I'm not mistaken. She definitely wasn't a socialist and her parents are not gazillionaires either.

I don't feel too sorry for the neighborhood association as no one in the subdivision seemed to gripe when it sold at 900,000 dollars for $180 a square foot, way over the market price.

The stains on the roofs are black algae that feed on minerals in composition shingles. Usually starts on surfaces facing north. This stuff from an outfit out of Texas is expensive but works as advertised. I've used it and it removed the stains I had completely. Got turned onto the product by a neighbor. Way cheaper than a new roof.

No one is going to weep for the plight of the Eastover Homeowner's Association.

did someone say socialist? or socialite? slight difference there, Chester ;-)

I've always said socialite. Someone must've misread it.

someone has their comic meter set too low.

KF...wasn't you, was one of your bloggers...probably one who either can't spell or edit but since it was the same who claimed her parents were millionaires, who knows?

Petit Bois has a separate homeowners association and Petit Bois is included in the Eastover Association for security service and mosquito control purposes. So the homeowners have the option of belonging to both or just one of those groups.
Neither association tracks and/or reports home sales.
Had anyone been told that the Harmon home sold for $900000,they wouldn't have believed it.
Many , if not most, of the inhabitants of the neighborhood did not inherit, they earned their money.
The Harmon house and most, if not all of the homes cost more than $225000 to build and the lots have been $25-55000. So this is a huge equity reduction that those with an ounce of compassion will surely understand.

Has nothing to do with compassion. Has everything to do with the fact that no one complained or said anything when it sold for $180 a square foot or made similar remarks when I reported on it a year ago but now complain that its too cheap. It goes both ways is my point.

I seriously doubt it will affect the property value because it won't be allowed as a comp by most lenders.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
