This is the last call for the annual JJ fundraising-drive. Thanks for the donations and support. Thank you very much for reading this blog over the years. Who would've thought that a website which started as a little ole blog back in 2007 would become a leading news and commentary website in Mississippi six years later. It's been a pretty good ride and a pleasure getting to know many of you.
The New York Times discovers Jackson
The New York Times published a rather nice feature on Jackson. Of course everyone here is swooning as they exclaim "they like us."
More JSU-Madison details
JJ obtained through a public records request the lease for the Madison campus of Jackson State University and all associated correspondence. JSU and Dick Ambrosino, the CEO of Parkway Development, signed the leases on January 28, 2013. The site is located within the Parkway East public improvement district. Some highlights of the lease:

Post-election critiques
Bryan Eason complained in a Clarion-Ledger article about how long it took to obtain election results for each Jackson precinct last week. Jackson should have posted the results online within twenty-four hours of the polls closing but there were some reasons why it did not occur.
