The Capitol Poh-lice issued the following statement.
At approximately 7:51 a.m., a Capitol Police officer located escaped inmate Brandon Young at a gas station in a black Nissan Titan.
Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop; however, Young fled at a high rate of speed and subsequently collided with a fence. Officers were able to bring Young into custody at this time. (KF: He crashed into a fence by Galloway Elementary School.).
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office and the Mississippi Department of Corrections were notified and are en route to retrieve Young.
MDOC issued the following statement and mug shot yesterday.
MDOC and other authorities are searching for parolee Branden Young after he escaped the Madison County Community Work Center Sunday morning.
Young, 38, MDOC #142668, is on parole for felony DUI. He was assigned to the technical violation center (TVC) at the CWC earlier this month for violating his parole terms.
Young, featured here in a June 2023 photo, now faces an escape charge. He fled the TVC wearing a white T-shirt and orange shorts and ran toward Highway 51.

Disband JPD, give CPD the funding, let the City deal with settling with the Dr. Chief, crime problems solved.
Meanwhile JPD were seen writing tickets to hard working citizens on there way to the office. JPD doesn’t patrol neighborhoods or show up to any break ins. They sure as hell don’t dust for finger prints. Thank GOD for Capitol police is all i can say! Thank you for doing what Jackson police dept won’t do!
