Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey issued the following statement.
On Monday, October 13th, 2025, deputies with the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department responded to an area near Shell Oil Rd for a possible stolen vehicle. After receiving information that a stolen white Ford F250 was at nearby residence on Shell Oil Rd, deputies and investigators traveled to the residence and located the vehicle. During that time, law enforcement were able to confirm that the truck was indeed stolen and had reported to the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department in August 2025. While at the residence, deputies and investigators made contact with Steve Frederick Nieburg who was detained after he was found to be in possession of marijuana. As the on-scene investigation continued, a search warrant was obtained and executed which revealed additional stolen vehicles on the property which displayed altered Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN). One of the vehicles was a Toyota Tacoma that had been reported stolen to the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department in July 2025. A second stolen vehicle, 2017 Toyota Camry, was also recovered that had been reported to the Brandon Police Department in 2022. Unfortunately, a red 1992 Toyota Tacoma reported stolen to the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department had already been disassembled. A stolen 2019 car hauler style trailer was also recovered that had been reported to the Flowood Police Department. Investigators located multiple stolen Stihl chainsaws that were taken from a power line company in Alabama. In addition to the chainsaws multiple firearms were found inside the residence that are believed to be stolen through a house burglary within the City of Pearl. The sheriff's office would like to express its appreciation to the Brandon Police Department their assistance in this on-going investigation.

This due has been a POS for a while. He's had some other shady dealings as well.
We'll see him in about 40 years or so.
lock em up
Some people can’t make good decisions. This guy must love prison life.
Book 'em Danno.
Another stupid bad guy who didn't get the memo to do their crime in Hinds County.
Brian Bailey issues another press release. Does this man really believe he can salvage his reputation and keep his cush-job? Really?
That must be most all the White crime in Rankin.
He was pushing a pack of Mexicans doing little odds and end like picking up trash, painting, etc on residential construction sites. Typical hustler type work. Stuff was coming up missing and his pack of Mexicans scattered so I guess he went full blown thieving. All these hustler type cats end up getting caught. Glad some will get their property back.
Yes, yes he does.
