While the dithering Judge Andrew Howorth throws tantrums, the Justice Department arrested Lindsey Whiteside for transporting a minor across state lines to engage in sexual activity. Desoto County Sheriff Thomas Tuggle announced the arrest this afternoon.
The case does not yet appear in Pacer.

New episode? Or double jeopardy?
Not double jeopardy, nor Final Jeopardy for that matter. Different ccharge, different court (state vs federal) different jurisdiction.
Double jeopardy does not apply when someone is charged in both federal and local jurisdictions. Criminal law 101.
Federal charges are separate from state charges. Given the publicity and the complete mess that was made by the judge, I would expect the federal hammer to fall hard.
that bitch is now in the federal system.
yet again, another instance where a state judge in mississippi cant read read the mississippi statute on sexual battery , and in come the feds to flush the toilet .......................... that is mississippi.
Suppose she figured she was already in enough trouble that she should go for more
to 712 this is an entirely different case with different elements.........takin a minorr across state lines for sex will prove to be quite the misadventure.
to ''new episode''...........................taking that minor across state lines will prove to be the the ultimate misadventure of the defendants life.
once again the feds have to ''fix' mississippi .
id say this is about the 100,000th fix the feds have made in the past 100 years.
The press conference made it sound like she's being charged with at least one Mann Act charge.
The Mann Act, passed in June 1910 and named after Illinois Congressman James R. Mann, invoked the Commerce Clause to felonize the use of interstate or foreign commerce to transport women for immoral purposes. The Act was aimed at prostitution, immorality, and human trafficking.
the united states department of justice..... a/k/a darth vader, has now arrived.
to that moron desoto county circuit judge ....here comes the cavalry.
the MS Supreme Court should review its protocol on Special Judges. Too many Howorths
would you rather spend time locked up at a minimum security "federal facility" or Women's' prison on Rankin. Think shes getting a better jail time in
Fed facility
8:21 not that the state judge in Mississippi can’t read the statute. Im sure he knew the statute, but thought he was dealing with a bunch of heehaws so he didn’t give a shit about the law or that little girl! No he’s in his feelings!
8:21 easy on the harsh words, but it’s ok, I am sure the judge is calling y’all much worse!
Of all the women over the consent age, why an underage girl! WHY!!!
And nobody had an inkling this shigity was going on?
She will plead out.
Unlike Chokwe.
It’s pretty cool that someone in our justice system is punishing these types of crimes. It just took people outside our state to do that. That’s on the presiding judge that made a bad call then whined about it. He should have to tell the victim and her family why she didn’t matter enough to put this woman in prison.
"And nobody had an inkling this shigity was going on?"
That's the dark question about DeSoto County....what on earth is going on in their churches and school system? Many are saying it's cult like, and that deeper investigations with interviews of who knew something, but were afraid to speak up are desperately warranted.....
Perhaps you should re-read before hitting publish...
Yeah the judge screwed up, but nothing like the Charlotte, NC judge that let the thug out who then knifed and murdered the young girl on public transit and then said, "Got the white girl."
