Madison-Rankin District Attorney Bubba Bramlett issued the following statement.
On July 11, 2024 Madison Police Department responded to a call in the Northbay subdivision. On scene, officers located one .223 caliber shell casing . Surveillance footage from the victim’s home showed a man on a motorcycle drive past the home and fire multiple times at the house. Officers were able to isolate a picture of the distinctive jacket the man was wearing. They then tracked the jacket to a manufacturer in Canada who was able to provide a purchase list of everyone in Mississippi who had purchased from the store. The Defendant was one of only 22 customers from Mississippi, and records showed he had purchased the particular jacket seen on the surveillance tapes. Investigators also determined he owned a motorcycle matching the one seen in surveillance tapes. Registration records showed Hines also owned a black van that can be seen on both surveillance tapes and license plate readers driving in the area of the victim’s home on multiple occasions.
Law enforcement then performed a search on Hines’s home and located the jacket and the motorcycle. Hines was found to be in possession of a rifle that the Mississippi Crime Lab determined was consistent with the .223 shell casing found on scene. Investigators also obtained the Defendant’s cell phone which showed him searching for the male resident of the house in question and making notes regarding the address.
District Attorney Bubba Bramlett stated, “This is a case that was solved by the hard work and dedication of the Madison Police Department. To identify a suspect through an article of clothing that was manufactured in another country and then use that lead to build a solid case resulting in a guilty plea is what makes the city of Madison one of the safest towns in this state. We hope this guilty plea and sentence will bring back that sense of safety to the victims and the other residents of Northbay. Let this also be a lesson to potential criminals – gun violence is never the answer, and my office will seek prison for those who shoot weapons in our counties.”

Pretty commendable investigative work there. Bravo.
Damn fine cop work! Did we ever figure out a motive?
Once again, do not do crimes in the city of Madison, because the police have nothing better to do than find your ass.
In Madison Co. if you do the crime, you will do the time. No blessings losers.
Barber told him him much more for the beard trim and the SHTF?
More like the police in Madison county actually do their job rather than drive by a crime scene and don't stop a la JPD.
Roman Cortez Hines as Huggy Lowdown of the Tom Joyner Morning would say, you are the Bama of the Week!
Watch the end of the movie when the fools get caught and sent to prison.
Is the Madison PD Chief going to get on the TV and talk his brains out?
All they would need is DNA, and it would make a good episode of CSI
I.... am.... in.... AWE! Hopefully, this story gets picked up by the Daily Mail, and Sky News Australia (those two venues, plus Jackson Jambalaya, are the only ones most of us follow, these days), because this is truly WORLD CLASS.
That's some Bosch level detective work!
So, this man, having driven by the house several times in his van....lemme guess....I was not random. Odd that 'the fish' did not find out a motive (through confidential sources or court records). But, such is the nature of follow-up reporting on this blog.
Good work team.. But I still need to know motive.
12:46 - Motive for this type of thing is usually a woman/love triangle. But modern gangsters don't need a "traditional" reason like that to shoot up a nice neighborhood.

Confident that when you were born you didn't cry, you whined.
To the low information voters across the river: stay the f@ck out of madco if you are up to nonsense.
4:18: Are you kidding me? KF excels at follow up, sometimes many years down the road.
Nice Jacket -
It's no longer just Ridgeland with crime issues.....
The Madison Police Department is a whole lot busier than they used to be. The City of Madison is sandwiched between Jackson and Canton and crime is overflowing from those two cities into Madison. In addition, there are probably more criminals that live in Madison than in the past.
