The Rose Anvil channel provides a much-needed public service. Weston Kay literally cuts boots in half and dissects their innards. The dissection can be rather cruel to well-known manufacturers as their shoddy work is exposed. Kay took on the Alden 403 "Indy" boot. The boot has a cult following as it was worn by Indiana Jones, hence the nickname. The boots start at $680. Are they worth it? Watch and see.
The actual dissection starts at 11:20.

I’ve followed Rose Anvil on YouTube for several years now. I highly suggest that anyone interested in quality shoes and boots to follow the channel. If you are into buy it for life products their content is a great resource.
It is really hard to justify all of this pretentious obsession when a pair of crocs and mossy oak socks are just as stylish, comfortable, and durable.
Love my Meindl hikers.
Crocs are fine, with shorts. But men's jeans will stack better, with boots like those shown. Stacking makes your legs look bigger, and thus makes your pelvis look narrower and your butt less womanly. ...unless you WANT to look like a bulbous-butted dog turd.
I'm on my feet 14-16 hrs a day & I don't wear cheap footwear. I got used to Altama Desert boots but they went outta business & new desert boot with Altama name is not the same. I'm on my last pair now so it's boot time for me shortly. I'll check the Anvil Channel. Thanks for the heads up!
Maybe kinda interesting, especially the process - but who the hell wants to spend $600 for a pair of shoes/boots?
Myself, I would be interesting in knowing where he got that knife and its specs - it appears to be a damn strong, sharp instrument
Only comment I can make is that is I buy all my shoes at Goodwill for $4.99. Gently used Nike, Johnston & Murphy, Skechers Rockport's and others.
It comes down to construction. You want Goodyear welted, most will start at $300. The Pacific Northwest boots use stitch down construction. The more expensive the boot, the better the leather used and yes, there is a difference among leathers. Rose Anvil shows how some brands use cheap fillers such as paper and leatherboard in their boots.
I appreciate your ongoing discussions of men's footwear Kingfish. Have learned a great deal.
Next, can we please discuss man-purses?
