The Neshoba County Sheriff's Office issued the following statement.
On Monday, October 21, 2024, Neshoba County Sheriff's Deputies acted on an East Mississippi Crime Stoppers tip. The tip described a group of abused and abandoned dogs in western Neshoba County, near the Leake County line. The tipster stated, several dogs were tied in the woods at 10241 Road 402, Philadelphia, MS.
Neshoba County Sheriff's Office in conjunction with a local animal rescue, acted on a Neshoba County Justice Court order to seize the dogs. Mississippi State Statute 97-41-2 gives authority to the Courts for law enforcement to immediately seize animals being cruelly treated, neglected or abandoned. Six dogs remained on the property and were seized by deputies late Monday afternoon. These dogs will receive medical treatment as well as nourishment.

we want the owner's name-
I love dogs but not people
It’s so easy to love a dog but hard to love human. Human love is always conditional
Let's hope that the owners are found and receive similar treatment as their dogs.
Hell is just not hot enough for some people.
Their Azz need to be put under the jail. How can you treat an animal let this. Im saddened by this.
I love my two dogs like their my children
For what purpose does the gentleman keep dogs out of sight and bound to trees with logging chain and without food? I sense some animal cruelty with wagering in the offing.
Those photos make me ill. Hate to think what my lack of humanity would incline me to do to that person.

6:19 - Those poor dogs were weakened through starvation so they could be used to train pit bulls to kill. Bank on it.
Well, it's Mississippi so that owner will MAYBE get a slip on the wrist, if anything. What few animal welfare laws we have are not enforced. It was just last year the news told of an animal control officer that tied stray dogs to his truck then shot them point blank. There are very VERY few people in this area that any compassion for living things, let alone animals.
The dogs in the picture were pit bulls.
