The Pearl Police Department issued the following statement.
On October 10, 2024, around 11:17 pm, the Pearl Police Department responded to an accident with injuries in the 2300 block of Highway 468. Upon arrival, the first officer on the scene witnessed a male subject fleeing the accident and was running on Highway 468 towards his patrol vehicle. The subject was ordered to the ground at which point he complied. As other officers arrived on scene, they began accessing the situation and horrific scene. Officers located the wrecked vehicle around 100 yards away from the male subject.
Inside the vehicle, officers located an unconscious female passenger with severe head trauma. Officers requested additional medical services and started caring for the victims. While caring for the victims, the male subject who fled the accident scene went into cardiac arrest and medical personnel started CPR. Both patients were transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for treatment. Tragically, the male driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at UMMC. The Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to the crash scene to reconstruct the accident.
The Pearl Police Department is aware of irresponsible social media reports claiming that the Officers “kneeled on his neck”. This incident has been reviewed by Administration and these claims are completely fabricated. This entire incident was captured on body and dash cameras. The individuals responsible for these outlandish claims should be ashamed of themselves for taking a tragic death, horrific scene, and using it to cause irreparable harm to the community/police relationship. Thank you to the many responsible and reputable news sources who contacted the Pearl Police Department to verify the accuracy of this information prior to publishing fictitious claims. The cause of this accident remains under investigation.
Please keep the victims and their families of this accident in your prayers!

Someone trying to create our own version of St George Floyd.
Didn’t a Pearl police officer just get charged for making an arrestee lick up a pool of urine? These police statement would be great if we had any reason to believe them. They are nothing more than fan fiction in my eyes.
Typically you debunk something with evidence. The press release debunks nothing.
Show the videos!
The evidence is trust me bro.
I wasn’t there and didn’t see the whole thing! I can’t believe you don’t believe it! It was so raw. The nothingness! How can we go on?
You got it, you got it bad…
Just another example of one culture typically distrusting anything involving another culture. That will never change. Goes both ways.
This is not “debunking.” This is an argument against social media accounting of events.
These people on social media should sign a witness statement, you know since they saw it.... then when ( which they will be) proven wrong... lock their ass up fo making false report
"social media accounting" is an oxymoron
To 'debunk' doesn't necessarily require proof. One synonym of
'debunk' is refute, which means to oppose or argue against.
However, Jesus Christ could appear in court and state that he witnessed the event, and that the social media rumor is not true, and we would still have the usual cast of characters (you know who you are), jumping up and down and hollering JUSTICE!
The evidence is: "This is a no shit story."
8:39, look up the definition of debunk, you’ll see that it reads “to expose a falsehood.”
...among ten other definitions. Two of which are 'oppose' and 'to argue against'.
