A woman who shot at another car during a road rage incident yesterday on I-220 earned herself a $2 million bond in Jackson Municipal Court today.
JPD arrested Angelic Bernard yesterday and charged her with attempted felony aggravated assault and aggravated drive-by shooting. A woman was driving to work yesterday on I-220 around 11 AM when Bernard allegedly began shooting at her car. The shots penetrated the vehicle's rear door.
JPD managed to track down Bernard thanks to information provided by the victim. Bernard said her friend shot at the victim but quickly changed her story to say the shooter was her boyfriend. JPD quickly determined she was not telling the truth and the rest is history.
Municipal Court Judge Jeffrey Reynolds called Bernard dangerous as he set her bond at $1 million per charge.
The 24 year-old Bernard is a McDonald's employee. She already faces a simple assault charge for an incident at Wendy's.

"Shots Entered The Back Door"...She Gotta Learn To Lead Her Target...
I remember when things were so simple at McDonald's. They had hamburgers, cheeseburgers, fries, shakes, chocolate or vanilla made the old way, and sodas. Employees didn't go crazy.
Thankful to the Jackson Municipal Court for this high bond!
I’ve complained for years about the purposeful allowance of lawlessness by Democrats so areas like Jackson can remain a one party city, so now it’s time to give them credit for this high bond.
It’s Jackson what do you expect
Had a brother in law who worked at the McDonalds (Maybe the first one in Jackson) on Highway 80 just west of where the J-Train offices are on Valley Street and H-80. back in the 1960s. He par fried then later second time fried the really good old style Mc Fries, cooked burgers and waited on customers, sometimes absolutely by himself and never shot at anyone. Well, eventually he became a cop and did shoot a guy one night, but the guy had it coming, because he fired first, so I am going to say it didn't count. He did get altimers and is now gone RIP.
Good for judge on the high bond.
WLBT: The judge meant it!
"An attorney for Bernard asked for a lower bond, saying the 24-year-old McDonald’s employee supports a four-year-old son, and said she would be open to having her client submit to GPS monitoring.
She also told Reynolds the bond was so high that she couldn’t post it, much less, Bernard.
“I couldn’t either, and that’s the point,” Reynolds said. “She shot multiple times at a random lady. To let her get out and do this again [and possibly kill someone] ... She’s not going to be out on my watch.”"
I'm sad that we have to applaud a judge for doing what should be the bare minimum, but I agree. Good job.
How many fast food places would close if they weren’t allowed to hire people with records?
Good news for her is when this quiets down a bit, a county judge will without much public awareness lower the bond amount and she will find a bondsman to get her out on a payment plan- Seems like she might could use some mental health treatment but nobody offers that free short of Region 8- I find it stupid that these same Jxn judges will give a murder suspect cheaper bonds
@2:36 PM Have you ever watch the movie The Founder starring Michael Keaton? Well, Ray Kroc was a milk shake machine salesman who stumbled in the McDonald’s brothers’ operation. Ray Kroc wouldn’t believe how bad McDonald’s has become. Or that they dont even have functioning ice cream machines in most locations.

Its about time that Jackson got serious about bonds for murders and violence.
There was another incident like this several years ago , charity Barnes shot into a car in jackson and killed the driver. The driver son was in the car and witness it. Whatever happened with that case? Did it go to trial?
