OK, you are a new hot-shot developer. You're going to meet some out of town investors and want to dress to impress. Indeed, one investor mentioned something about going to a high-class gentleman's club loaded with um, high-priced talent. For that excursion, you definitely want to do some stylin' and profilin'. Fortunately, Allen Edmonds has you covered.
Yup, Allen Edmonds is having a special trunk show for shell cordovan shoes and boots until July 19. Shell cordovan shoes are pretty expensive but as you can see, the Allen Edmonds shoes are pretty cheap at $850 for shoes and $950 for boots. Check out on website. Shell cordovan is made of horse membrane and far superior to calfskin. A pair of these shoes will probably last until retirement - or death.
The trunk show even includes shell cordovan Apple Watch bands ($100).
Feel free to order through the New Orleans store over the phone. Remember, this sale only happens once a year.

King fish, I hope you got at least a free pair of shoes for running this ad.
Question: what model of Allen Edmonds should you wear on the Miami Yacht ?
I'm glad I work in health care. We wear sneakers.
If I have to wear shoes like that to go to a gentlemen's club, then I'll pass.
Love to have a pair. Can you loan me half my monthly rent?
I’m glad I live in Arizona. We wear sandals.

Depends. Are you trying to launder money or convince a multimillionaire/billionaire of a business venture.
He runs this ad once a year when this sale happens
I bought a pair of loafers in 2018 after seeing this and I love them
I paid 200 dollars for shoes that would normally be triple that and when they wear out you send them back in and for 100 bucks they resole and refurbish them
worth every penny
Regardless of how much you earn, if you wear shoes that cost more than $500 for anything other than military service, you are not an adult heterosexual male.
Guess you've never seen White's work boots or Nicks.
Hunt? Check out Russells
@4:15
if you dress in business casual attire for work daily you know how fast a man can burn through a pair of cheap loafers.
this has nothing to do with sexuality and everything to do with buying shit that lasts
If you pay over $59 for shoes you are wasting $$$.
If you pay over $59 for shoes you are wasting $$$
Your podiatrist and orthopedic surgeoon may tell you differently when you become their patient. By then it may be too late.
There's a reason why the US military procures expensive footwear instead of flip flops.
4:15, other brands are now making inroads, but for years wildland firefighters wore exclusively White’s or Nick’s that KF referenced, and that is just one example of expensive non-military footwear that surpasses your $500 threshold for being a hetero male. Read and think before you post - you may learn something occasionally.
This makes me miss "BROGANS", Jackson's real shoe store, back it the 80's and 90's. Our own "Progressive Shoe Store".
Yup. And if you are hunting, Russell Moccasins are worth every penny.
I share your enthusiasm for Allen Edmonds. Truly great American company. I own three pair, one of which I had refurbished. And let me just say on that point- I was STUNNED with the quality of my shoes when they came back. Indistinguishable from a brand new pair.
Very simply! Good shoes are a good investment. I have shoes that are 15 years old and look like new.
How to determine if a man is successful?
1.House
2.Wife
3.Shoes
(obviously this is not on the moral/spiritual side of things)
Professor in business school was fond of this measurement...pretty sure this was an all male class 50 years ago
Where’s vehicle/rims?
Ain’t nobody in MS that ain’t a doctor or lawyer buying $1k shoes. And most of them ain’t buying them either.
The A. Edmonds spend most of their time in the closet now, but are still fine shoes
The finest horse hide
KF, sadly Russel was bought out post Covid. I wear their snake boots about 6mos out of the year. Pricey, but made to your feet and some of the finest boots I’ve ever put on. I hope the new guys make them in the same quality, but as of now they are only making stock boots with limited offerings. I need another pair and would love another style that does look like they have any longer.
I used to buy a new pair of Allen Edmonds every year from a shoe store in Pontotoc.
Guy from Georgia bought the company. Was already a customer and big fan of the boots. He modernized the equipment and processes. Made it quite clear in an interview he is not going to use cheaper materials and ship production overseas as JM, CH, and Florsheim have done. Rose Anvil took them apart and said it was the same quality as before.
Interview on Youtube
He explains in the video why they are not taking custom orders right now. When he bought the company, there were over 1,200 orders if I remember correctly. Stopped taking them so they could get caught up and be able to promise delivery within a reasonable amount of time.
Horse membrane?
As a 1978 high school graduation gift my grandparents bought me a pair of black oxford dress shoes I think they were around $70 back then. Today, I am still wearing them 46 years later! Mailed them toe AE for repairs in the past too. Best shoes you can buy and present yourself in...just saying.
I have a couple of pair for sale. Like new. Barely worn.
Do they come in rainbow with a matching bowtie?
I miss the shoe-shine guy at The Hilton...
I see what you did here. Very nice.
I'll spend that kind of money on waders, but not shoes. Gotta keep my priorities in order.
Are they on sale and the sale price is $850, down from $X? Or are they just for sale like they are any other time and the price is $850 all day every day?
Gorgeous shoes, by the way. You've got me interested
Sold only once a year. I include sale as a way of having fun. The post itself is kind of a fun post as you can tell from the first paragraph. Also, you can't buy truly high end shoes in Jackson so I'm having a bit of fun giving them some exposure.
Don’t mean to pee pee on the shoe parade but some of these shoes/boots look awful.
This is great news, that Allen Edmonds has a future. And it's admirable, Kingfish, that you're promoting these classics. You're right about Shell Cordovan. It lasts longer, and is vastly easier to deal with, than regular leather. I noticed, just last month, that my husband's shoe rooms have been purged of their "regular" Allen Edmonds (his AEs date from a decade when we were young and struggling - before we'd heard of Alden, or he'd set foot in Battaglia or Bijan, or visited the little family workshops in the hills above Naples - which are disappearing, by the way), but that his AE Shell Cordovans remain.
DH wears suits, every day, and every moment he's not naked or in the weightroom. Those Allen Edmonds, despite decades of having been worn every month or two, have lasted.
On the other hand, some gorgeous oxfords he bought (perfect for the casual suits he keeps in Wyoming), when we were out, bored, shopping a tiny downtown in the Rockies, had their beautiful matte tan finish start FLAKING, the second time DH wore them. That's the sad reality with MOST leather goods, today.
So, YES! Invest in those AE shoes! ...and the MATCHING BELTS! The look, I see, has been subtly-tweaked, and is exciting. Previously, AE was merely "standard". Now, it's exciting. The brand seems to be moving up into the niche previously occupied by Alden.
(but really, Kingfish, the "Gentleman's Club" thing, with the high-priced hookers/dancers/whatever, is NOT what we associate with men's Trad shoes. Those hangouts for iffy men, are the ANTITHESIS of Trad shoes. And male associates who're so pitiful - and so peer-pressure-vulnerable - that they go into such places, are the sort of loose cannons I wheel off the deck, and into the ocean.
As magnificent as you are, assuming you continue lifting the big weights, you will NEVER, even unto your dying day, need to go into places like that. And, to borrow a line from 'The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone', "I'm surprised that YOU would know people like that.")
Darling, that strip club reference was an inside joke of sorts. Those who know will laugh at it. Sometime before the end of the year, the joke will become clear to you.
Bought a pair of Florsheim Imperials in Shell Cordovan, model #93605, on eBay a few months ago in pristine condition for $100. These were from the mid 60's and looked like they came off the showroom floor.
If you want great shoes for cheap, Florsheim Imperials on eBay, models 93602, 92604, and 93605. Can find some really great deals there. When it comes time to resole or recraft, send to Bedo's leatherworks in VA. He has the original Florsheim insoles with that gorgeous logo and for another $200 or so will use JR soles.
