The Justice Department issued the following statement.
A former Pearl, Mississippi police officer was sentenced today to 12 months in federal prison for acting under color of law to deprive a person of his civil rights. Michael Christian Green, 26, was sentenced by U.S. Magistrate Judge Andrew S. Harris. According to court documents and information presented in court, Green, while on duty as a certified law enforcement officer with the Pearl Police Department, forced an arrestee in custody to lick urine from the floor of a holding cell within the police department. Green pleaded guilty to the offense on March 14, 2024.U.S. Attorney Todd W. Gee of the Southern District of Mississippi and Special Agent in Charge Robert Eikhoff of the Federal Bureau of Investigation made the announcement. The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation with assistance from the Pearl Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Samuel Goff prosecuted the case. If you or someone you know has been the victim of abuse by a law enforcement officer, call the FBI hotline at 1-800-CALL-FBI, email tips.fbi.gov or call the FBI Jackson Field Office at 601-948-5000.
Kingfish note: The Justice Department charged Green with violating the suspect's civil rights. The bill of information states Green was dispatched to address a "family disturbance" at Sam's in Pearl. Green arrested a man and took him to the holding facility at the Pearl Police Department.
The suspect knocked on the door repeatedly and said he needed to take a leak. After his pleas were ignored, the suspect went to a corner of the cell and did his business.
The Bill of Information alleges Green went nuts:
Green looked at B.E. and stated, ""Let me tell you somethin'. You see this phone? I will beat your fucking ass with it. You're fixin' to go in there and you're gonna lick that piss up. Do you understand me?"D. Green repeated the command that B.E. ""lick it up."" Green went on to tell B.E. to ""go suck it up right now."" B.E. was returned to the holding cell. While standing in the doorway of the holding cell, Green commanded that B.E. get on the ground and ""suck it up."" Green removed his phone from his duty vest and filmed B.E. while B.E. got on the ground and licked his urine. (KF: He was dumb enough to film it?) B.E. gagged when he made contact with the floor. In response to B.E.'s gagging, Green told B.E., ""don't spit it out."" B.E. gagged again. Green responded to B.E.'s second gagging episode by stating, ""lick that shit up. Drink your fuckin' piss."" B.E. gagged a third time. Green did not have a government interest or law enforcement purpose in ordering B.E. to lick his urine.E. B.E. was eventually allowed to leave the holding cell. After returning to the booking area, B.E. repeatedly vomited in the booking area garbage can."
Green waived indictment so he will soon plead guilty to the crime.
In a truly just world, Green would be forced to drink his own.... well, you get the idea.

When I first moved to the Metro, I rented a house in Pearl while I settled in and figured out where I wanted to live more permanently. This guy was my neighbor. When I moved out, he had never said a word to me but informed me that if Mexicans ended up in that house he was going to hunt me down.
S.O.B.
The best way to avoid treatment like this is to obey laws and use common sense to avoid contact with police officers and getting thrown in jail.
What a great goon squad candidate. Another one of Stankin Rankin's finest.
In my career I engaged with lots of law enforcement officers. Many of them are sociopaths who want the power that goes with the badge to carry out their prejudices. If I were a judge I'd put them in jail for the maximum.
He deserves to drink piss.
WTF!? Only a year!? Jesus! He should be doing a lot more than that for this heinous crime.
Is that a toupee?

Naw, make him lick up ever other inmate's urine...

Sometimes minding your own business aint Good Enough...
4:18. So? Your point?
@4:31 - or to hire ethical police officers that respect the law. Who knows if the guy he arrested even broke the law or if officer pissy pants just felt like arresting and humiliating him for fun. There are some really sick people out there and policing has more than their fair share.
I would wager he will learn all about Pay Back and what goes around comes around.
“We should not have to live in fear of law enforcement!” “The Goon Squad” from the Rankin Co. Sheriff’s Department is proof that we seriously need police reform. It’s a fact, Sheriff Bryan Bailey runs a seriously dangerous dept. How many people are mistreated, abused, beat, wrongly convicted by law enforcement officers like these? I believe there are many good people in law enforcement. The leaders of Rankin Co choose took ignore the obvious for many years, why? I really don’t know what else to say. It’s just wrong.
Such is fallen man.
Holy fuck. I mean, I was JPD in the 90s and that kind of retribution never crossed my mind. What world am I living in??
What's that thing on his head? He should get extra time for wearing that. What a goober ...
Pearl is the worst. Their cops are arrogant and ignorant. They run a speed trap on 20 and fill their coffers with fines.
You know why the Pearl Fire Department doesn’t have a ladder truck? Because they don’t make two-story mobile homes.
Bad deal all the way around.
Certainly, only an evil or complete dumbass would do this to another person.
However, good police cost more than bad ones. The question is how much is the public willing to pay in order to get the good ones?
5:09: I think the author of the book in the article you cited is dead wrong, with his "Seven Deadly Wins" of ruthlessness, charm, focus, mental toughness, fearlessness, mindfulness and action. That he based his book on an online survey and an interview with a coke-head kind of speaks for itself.
The thing is, most of us can spot an a-hole and see through manipulation. People just don't respond well to a d*ck on a power trip, especially lawyers and judges.
When faced with someone like that, I've found the best tactic is to just outwork him, because people like that don't seem to work much when no one is watching.
and now he's a felon
He was prolly mad he wasn’t in his apartment playing Fortnite. What a goofy little kid. Probably tall and overweight and thought he had the advantage.
This guy clearly isn't nearly as smart as he thought he was.
It's almost like the feds served a warrant and got the evidence from the perv perp's own duty phone.
Talk about hoist on own retard!
His eyes do seem a little close together. Might be he ain't right in more than one way!
Not sure how this equates to deprivation of civil rights.
Hope he gets paid back in prison. Sick bastard.
I don’t get why the guy actually complied. I would take ten ass whippings before I’d drink piss. I’d probably be in prison after I got out because I’d have probably murdered this cop first chance I got. And I’m a law abiding conservative white man who thinks we do need cops. Unfortunately the job attracts some psychopaths.
@4:34 - he probably thought a cop as crazy as this one would rape and murder him if he didn’t comply. How often are citizens able to peacefully resist dirty cops without getting bogus charges or a funeral?
I doubt this guy’s I.Q. would break room temperature on one of his better days.
To 5:05 pm.
One year is the maximum sentence for the charge. Still he is a convicted felon and it will follow him for the rest of his life.
A goon without a squad.
Who was this fools training officer? Were there red flags? At 28 years old and doing this shigity! Where was the jailer? The Officer has limited access to the jail with supervision of the jail personnel!
As a former jailer and shift supervisor no way in hell would an officer come into the facility while I was on duty and commit such sick and unlawful acts. This shit brings tears to my eyes, what have we become?
.
Just endless humiliation for MS LEO and we know there will be zero reform.
These people are disgusting and we are all wondering how many more lurk among the ranks at this point.
This is coming from a conservative that used to "back the blue".
I hope LEO realize its not just libs that are sick of this BS and we are paying attention too.
This is just from my experience as Law Enforcement Officer.
This former officer was surrounded by this culture in his department!
You just don’t wake up one day and do this atrocious act!
He felt comfortable in doing so!
All the Officer had to do was arrest, take to jail, hand over to the booking officer and LEAVE!
Is there a single honest cop in Rankin County or are they all a bunch of perverted power tripping assholes?
8:33 PM, I hate to say it but all of them from the sheriff on down are a bunch or perverted power tripping assholes.
