Is the American Boxing Association trying to kill women? The organization is going to allow trans women to compete against biological women in the boxing ring. The new policy states trans women may box as females if:
The athlete has declared that her gender identity is female and has completed gender reassignment surgery. • The athlete for a minimum of four years after surgery has had quarterly hormone testing and presents USA Boxing documentation of hormone levels. • The athlete must demonstrate that her total testosterone level in serum has been below 5 nmol/L for at least 48 months prior to her first competition (with the requirement for any longer period to be based on a confidential case-by-case evaluation, considering whether or not 48 months is a sufficient length of time to minimize any advantage in women's competition). • The athlete's total testosterone level in serum must remain below 5 nmol/L throughout the period of desired eligibility to compete in the female category. New policy.
Although the high brows at National Review published a thorough explanation of how dangerous this new policy is, the folks at South Park do a much better job showing why it is a bad idea.
Like other sports bodies that have opened female competition to men, USA Boxing has maintained that hormone modification will level the boxing ring for female and transgender-identifying male fighters. But it is now well established that testosterone reduction does not negate natural male physical advantages, which are especially pronounced in boxing, former USA Boxing fighter Cara Castronuova told National Review.
“With boxing, you have to be able to go into wind sprints really fast and then bring it down,” Castronuova, who has won two Golden Gloves championships, said.
“Everything is an explosive anaerobic thing, and men have better anaerobic capacity than women,” she added. “If you’re boxing, you can’t go 100 percent the whole time. You have to go 100 percent, then 30 percent, 100 percent, then 30 percent. Men have a higher capacity to do that, and that really counts in boxing.”
For those high-intensity bursts of punching followed by rest, an athlete’s cardio fitness is extremely important. Males have a larger chest cavity, larger lungs and a larger heart, more muscle mass, and a denser skeletal structure. These attributes allow men a significant advantage over women in endurance and strength, according to the most recent Competition report from the Independent Women’s Forum and the Independent Women’s Law Center.
One scientific study from the University of Utah, citing an article titled “Sexual dimorphism in human arm power and force: implications for sexual selection on fighting ability,” found that “even with roughly uniform levels of fitness, the males’ average power during a punching motion was 162% greater than females’, with the least-powerful man still stronger than the most powerful woman.” Article
This is not going to end well. Just watch this Ray Mancini fight where he kills his Korean opponent. Mancini was a lightweight boxer, weighing all of 135 lbs. Imagine prime Mancini boxing a woman as a woman, even with the necessary testosterone therapy. It would not end well.

If a woman has to die so that a man can pretend to be a woman and box a woman then so be it. Equality!!!!
- a liberal Democrat
More virtue signaling.
These "trans-women" are cowards and bullies. They are afraid to compete against fellow men and they bully women.
It is disgusting. Yet the democrats and rhinos cheer this movement forward.
That’s fucking stupid.
Stop being such a bigot, KF. Men, women, and all the races are equal.
@5:56 some female boxer is about to FAFO how equal she is to a man.
Common sense is a thing of the past.
As a society, we have lost our minds. All of this transgender mess is going to kill women’s sports.
When all these transgender women start winning all of the women sporting events, then the democrats will change their positions.
Like Sleepy Joe Biden shut down the domestic production of oil. Inflation jumped up to 7.6 percent. Now, he quietly opened up US oil production and inflation is dropping. Go figure!
The Patriarchy wins again and liberals are the ones pushing it. Let them eat themselves.
@8:13 Your comment about domestic oil production is way off. Stop watching Fox news and try reading actual industry sources. Active rig count in the U.S., which is a measure of how agressively oil companies are looking for oil, dropped way off during the oil glut caused by the Covid shutdown. Pre-Covid rig count 796 rigs (Jan '00). Shut down 251 (Jul'00). Since then active rigs in the U.S. increased steadily to a high of 782 (Nov 22) with a modest decrease since then to 621 (this past Monday).
U.S. oil production was just over 13 Million barrels per day in January 2020. It dropped steadily during shutdown to a low of 9.7 Million bpd in the summer of 2020. Since then, U.S. oil production has risen steadily to pre-shutdown production (13.2 Million bpd). U.S. companies that survived the Covid shutdown (a lot of little guys got crushed), have gotten very adept a squeezing more oil out of the same wells. The survivors have also kept many viable wells offline to limit production, which keeps the price up for them.
So, based on actual f#$%ing facts, U.S oil exploration and U.S. oil production have both recovered during Uncle Joe's tenure - despite the major setback suffered by the oil industry during the 2020 Covid shutdown, which was overseen by Trump.
Crazy, my whole life I thought that South Park was total hot garbage. That was actually fantastic. I apologize to everyone I looked down on for watching that show.
XY's who couldn't/can't cut it in male sports just proclaim "I'm an XX", and these useless organizations let them do their thing.
Why is it always men wanting to compete as women? I never see anything in the news about women wanting to compete as men.
People always say all people are created equal. Now some are saying all people are not created equal. Why can't we make up our minds?
If all people are created equal then there should not be any women sports or men sports. It should be just sports. Either you can compete or you cannot complete. Same thing goes when it comes to everything else. People should compete equally with everyone else no matter what it comes to. No more women rights, no more men rights, no more affirmative action.

9:50,oil was going to recover regardless who was in office. Keep telling us how Uncle Joe is saving democracy. Lol
I'm a liberal progressive democrat, retired military. Worked with transgendered men and women at various times. Talented, smart people. But I agree 100% transgender women should not compete against cisgendered women.
But of note, just because something is allowed does it mean it will happen.
"cisgendered women"?? How about just plain "women."
From the rules above a guy can't just show up and claim to "identify" as a woman or even put on a wig, makeup, and a dress, and start boxing women the next day, week, year, or in 3 years and 360 days. They would have to have one hell of a commitment to the lie of "identifying as a woman." That doesn't translate into it being a good idea but situations remotely like the one in the South Park clip could not happen in the real world under those rules.
Two things from a medical perspective, in general terms:
1. 5 nmol/L testosterone level for a male in the typical age range of boxers (or even under 60) is extremely low and it is extremely unlikely that a male who was falsely claiming to be transgender could or would reach such a level AND maintain it for 4 years.
2. It would so unlikely to be basically impossible for anyone falsely claiming to be transgender to get gender reassignment surgery for the sole purpose of an advantage in boxing or any other sport, even assuming they were actually willing to get it. And given the other rules, even if a man could get the surgery and achieve the testosterone level requirements but really didn't (psychologically) identify as a woman, the former "he" would actually be (physically) transgender and meet the requirements.
The bottom line is that "fakers" won't be a real-world issue if the rules governing it are followed and there could not be any situations like the South Park clip.
6:55, Here's a homework assignment:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9331831/
Spoiler: "Testosterone drives much of the enhanced athletic performance of males through in utero, early life, and adult exposure. Many anatomical sex differences driven by testosterone are not reversible."
9:44PM, here's one for you:
Get a undergrad degree in a biological science from a recognized college, graduate from a recognized medical school, complete your residency, pass your boards, and spend at least a few years in clinical practice, preferably in a specialty, and then get back to us.
From your cited paper (and ignoring anything to do with it directly): "The non-overlapping ranges of testosterone between the sexes has led sports regulators, such as the International Olympic Committee, to use 10 nmol/L testosterone as a sole physiological parameter to divide the male and female sporting divisions. Using testosterone levels as a basis for separating female and male elite athletes is arguably flawed."
I do not suggest that the IOC's parameters are perfect but they are at least, even to the citation, only "arguably flawed," not demonstrably incorrect. The whole male/female-"male"/"female" thing in athletics has been going on for well over 50 years, but 5 nmol/L on a single test is well below any "normal" male level even in geriatrics. Four years of such levels in quarterly tests in a "male" not receiving any form of suppression, in the age-range of typical male boxers, is not going to happen. It has nothing to do with the appropriateness of transgender folks competing in whatever sport.
That said, do I think that males/"males" ought to be competing against females/"females?" I don't have a opinion, medical or personal, beyond that it ought to be up to whatever sanctioning organization and those who choose to compete under it: "Here are our rules. If you want to compete in our contests, meet them. If you don't like them, find another competition." There is no human, natural, or in the US, a Constitutional right to box (or swim or any other sport) under a particular set of rules. And in the real world, most boxing organizations have weight classes, so you would not have 135 pounders fighting 165 pounders, regardless of gender (and female classes are even more stratified weight-wise).
I don't think anyone ought to be allowed to merely claim to "self-identify" to force their way to compete in, do, or receive whatever they want, and certainly not in the face of compelling evidence that their claim is spurious at best - contra-dick-tory, if you will. But going through gender transition surgery and 4 years of hormone alteration is pretty strong evidence of sincerity about their claim. Whether apparent sincerity should weigh in the organization's rule-making should be up to that organization and those who choose to compete under the rules it decides. Same as life - if you don't want to wear shoes, a shirt, or pants, find another restaurant.
While you blabber about hormone levels, you conveniently ignore bond structure, bone density, and the superior recovery time males enjoy over women. In boxing, that is a deadly advantage.
I put up Ray Boom Boom Mancini fight for a reason. That is a lightweight and he still killed someone.

So you have a law degree too? What about publicly-funded schools and universities?
