Update (1/8/24): Found in Crystal Springs. Family took her home.
A mother is asking for help in finding her runaway teen. 17 year-old Kamryn Lewis walked out of UMMC yesterday. Her mother posted on Facebook:
Kamryn Lewis she ran away from Batson phone is off she had on a white sweatshirt and sweat pants(KF: Possibly grey) she is now listed on ncic as a run away according to ummc so i don’t know much at this point. The missing teen's aunt posted more information on social media:
My niece is missing! She was last seen leaving UMMC ER! Her name is Kamryn Grace Lewis. She’s roughly 5’ tall and weighs 98-100 pounds. She has distinctive tattoos as you can see in the third picture. Any information or sightings can be reported to Detective Beth Victoriano at 6017200432 or any local law enforcement.
Rankin County deputies responded to a call yesterday after the teen "threatened to harm" herself. Lewis was transported to UMMC where she later escaped.
WLBT reported she was seen at Pops late last night.

Seen at Pops last night, huh? This isn't going to end well.
This was the girlfriend of the dude who got killed in Raymond several weeks back.
"...of the dude who got killed..."

THANK YOU, for using decent English!!!! Most people posting here, would have said "...of the dude THAT got killed...".
Oh! By the way, what is "Pops"?
2:21, do you approve using "got" versus "was"? Pops is a bar on S. Gallatin, which is Jackson, which is in Hinds County. Does that help you to understand the situation that she is in?
Pop's is a bar in South Jackson on S. Gallatin near the JPD pistol range. It just might be the establishment that Charlie Daniels sings about in "Uneasy Rider".
The Grammar Nazi must not be from round here.
A friend told me that the one time he was in Pop's "twenty five years ago, for about 15 minutes and a beer, it was a rundown flea bag crawling with prostitutes trying to drag men to the attached motel for trix". That it has survived longer than Danny's or Metro Center may be a business lesson for South Jackson.
Charlie Daniels was referencing the old Hilltop Lounge I believe.
My gut feeling is the girl is OK.
(She's pissed about something, but will probably be found alive and well soon). At least I hope she's safe.
Regarding Charlie Daniels' "Uneasy Rider", I always envisioned that early 80's dive bar ... Billy Neal's Spud & Suds. (about 50 yards north of the old Cherokee at North State Street and Sheppard Road).
Yeah, way later than the song, but it met the criteria.
Back in the day, the east end of McDowell was lined with “gentlemen’s clubs”. Just around the corner on Gallatin was Pop’s, which is the only one still around. They were a great place to get your ass kicked if you so wished, kind of like Bob’s Country Bunker in the Blues Brothers (where they had both kinds of music, country and western).
I hope I worded this correctly so the grammar police won’t come after me…
There’s just no reason to be jack asses. Seriously.
12:58 here.
I’m something of a grammar hammer in my own right, and the got/was query is a fair one. “Was” sounds a tad more passive, and I should have used “murdered” instead of “killed.”
But yes: with people it’s who/whom, not that or which.
Ellwood, before the "gentlemen's clubs they were C&W bars like Boots' Hat & Cane. Don't remember the names of the others. Was Pop's one of the original C&W clubs or did it come later?
@Louis LeFleur, Embers was the other one located at the corner of Parcel Dr and E. McDowell. They were C&W but were known for their barbecue and the used car lot on the property too. They were well known and had a long time presence there until the late 90’s. Today it’s a vacant lot with a pile of garbage and the burned remnants of the original building, it never was cleaned up. Among the many eyesores in Jackson.
Vapors was the other club on McDowell next to Embers I think? Pops around the corner on Gallatin. Ran a lot of ambulance calls over there.
Mary's Palace used to be down the street from Boot's Hat and Cane. Had a friend that knew the house band back in the early 80s. Had a beer or two there and a few times at Pops. Thankfully that phase of my life didn't last too long.
Thanks for the update, Kingfish. Glad she's with family now.
"Family took her home"
The girl is 17 years old. Unless she is mentally unstable, she has a right to and is responsible for her own decisions. She will be an adult by the time this thread dies. You people act as if she's 12 and in need of hugs.
If she were black, weighing 226 pounds, her story would not even appear on this blog.
