The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality issued the following statement.
MDEQ is lifting a water contact advisory put in place June 16th for a tributary near the Hidden Hills subdivision in Flowood.
Repairs have been made to the relevant sewer lift station and corrected the problem which had resulted in a large discharge of wastewater into the unnamed tributary that flows into the confluence of Mill creek and Pelahatchie Bay. The advisory also covered an area from the west end of Pelican Place off Audubon Point Drive to the end of Forest Point Drive.
MDEQ advises that water contact in this area is once again safe for recreational purposes.

Glad I sold my boat and don’t go there anymore. But sewer leaks have happened in the past and swept under the rug.
I want to see the water samplers drink a pint or two. That boo boo water is still there.
2:02 - How long ago was that? Retired fed here (8 years ago) who worked alongside DEQ on everything having to do with water. All of the DEQ folks that I met were well trained and conscientious professionals. Why would you think state employees would hide the quality of water from the citizens of Mississippi in any instance? That's is plain idiocy.
4:55 - That is creek water. Who drinks water out of creek?
@8:55 PM - Calm down as it's now all water under the bridge.
8:55...why hasn't Ckokeway been charged criminally for willful and negligently allowing raw sewerage to consistently run into streams, creeks and the Pearl river? NO ACTION WHATSOEVER FOR YEARS?
WHY ,WHY,WHY ?
If you pay a firm to haul off your waste-water and that firm dumps it into the Pearl River, you and they will go to jail. As I recall, though, all the players in that scenario were white.
7:38 - I use the firm that did the dumping, and I have to say I am very pleased with their work. My ex-girlfriend and my son have very long hair and around once a year I would have to get the firm to blow out my sewage line. But, I will still call-on Rebel High Velocity in the future, if needed, but not the girlfriend. I miss her cooking, though.
