I've been a huge proponent of Capitol PD and HB 1020 since the beginning. However, I'm about to the point where I say heck with it all. If these opponents want to fight so vehemently against something that can help bring law and order to the CAPITAL CITY, then let them lie in the bed that they have made. I live in Hinds County, but moved from Jackson a number of years ago. I have always been a proponent of Jackson, but if these Democrats want to elect filth and live in filth, then let them. The state should quit helping in any way, shape, or fashion if HB 1020 ultimately fails.

Hallelujah! It is past time for DOJ to get involved in this. At some point the Mississippi Legislators who passed this legislation should be held accountable.

Anonymous said...

I said it many months ago. The only thing Tater has going for him on this one is the balance of the SCOTUS, assuming it goes that far. The millions in wasted litigation could be used for countless things.

Another nuisance suit filed by Biden's racist and militarized DOJ that will be heard by an APPOINTED federal district court judge.

State should wipe their hands and walk away and tell Jackson to solve YOUR mess YOURSELF!

pull the bill, stop the law, and let them rot; plus pull all state funding;

Water crisis in Jackson: Why DIDN'T the State take any action? Racism.

Crime crisis in Jackson: Why IS the State taking any action? Racism.

Damned if you do and damned if you don't. Does anything Democrats do make any sense anymore?

Anonymous said...

Joe Biden and Brandon Presley are OK with Jackson's crime!

Anonymous said...

The press release ( and complaint I am sure) is nothing more than racist bull shit!
It is unbelievable the spin that is put into this. I hope the case is assigned to Wingate!

Capitol Police have been excellent, but without the CCID court I'm afraid they'll be hamstrung. How long will this case take to play out all the way to SCOTUS?

I've had two needs to call Capitol Police (you're a fool if you still call 911 and talk to Lumumba's hires) and both times the response time to my home in Fondren have been excellent.

First time, a strong wind gust flung open the back door the in-laws left unlocked and set off the alarm. Response time: 5 minutes, 30 second.

Second time, a drugged out zombie came stumbling through the yard crawling and slithering his way through the yard. Response time: 3 minutes, 15 seconds.

We will be safer as long as the CCID system is fully allowed to be implemented.

Thank you Uncle Joe! Someone has to stop MS's big gub'mint Republicans from stealing my tax dollars to pay for selective security to a few rich, mostly white folks in Jxn. Revert the Capitol Police to their original and long standing mission of protecting State resources/employees in DT Jxn.

Folks don't be simps, Rs are every bit as big government and overreach as Ds.

At some point the Mississippi Legislators who passed this legislation should be held accountable.

How do you want them held accountable? What specifically do you want to have happen to them? Put up.

Anonymous said...

Dang! That was quick. How long have that had Hunter's laptop?

Anonymous said...

Ms. Clarke got her undergraduate degree from Harvard and JD from Columbia.

Yet another previously-respected professional goes down the drain for Lumumba. It boggles my mind. Tell her to say hello to Guliani while she's down there.

Anonymous said...

Looks like the work of Uncle Bennie.

Anonymous said...

My guess is Bennie Thompson is the driving force behind this. Let him fund the shortfall of $ that Jackson has lost out of his own pocket book. DOJ is a joke!

So we should just let Jackson crumble in to an abyss of crime? Btw the Jackson area Reps (prob some senators ) asked for their homes and businesses to be put in to the CCID then voted against it to let us take the heat ! Let that sink in.
-A Rep who gives a shit!

It’s obvious Jackson doesn’t want any help. It’s time to move the capital and wash ours hands of Jackson.

This complaint in intervention is really full of political talking points and laden with basic factual errors. As an example, it lists Bryant Clark of Pickens, Mississippi as a resident of Hinds (instead of Holmes) County in support of its argument that Hinds County residents didn't support this bill. I trust Judge Wingate to see through all of this and not let this devolve into a total circus. And fortunately we have the 5th Circuit that will shoot this partisan chicanery down.

Anonymous said...

Held accountable for what? Trying to stop the murders of mostly black people in Jackson?

Also, please explain to me how it is racist and "disenfranchising" of black people when it adds appointed rather than elected judges in the only majority white part of Jackson. If anything it's disenfranchising white people.

These people who support this are so low IQ and emotionally driven. Murders and violent crime are at an all time high- quick, let's stop any attempt to cut that back!

Anonymous said...

Who do they sue when they get this struck down but then realize this would have helped Jackson?

Anonymous said...

@4:23PM — The Capitol Police “have been excellent” without a CCID court. We should all hope and pray they continue to be excellent without a CCID court. It’s a losing cause and has been since the day the governor signed the bill. It was a nice try, but let’s end the pain and move on. Maybe the expanded CCID will hold up. That’s about all we can hope for. I have not seen a JPD cruiser in going on two months. Lumumba’s job description is rapidly evaporating. He doesn’t have to worry himself with water, sewer, crime, and what am I missing? Most black folks are fed up with the crime and decay in Jackson. They want want law and order just like the rest of us. But an issue like statutory disenfranchisement doesn’t much depend on what most law-abiding citizens want. Its a hot button thing, tailor made for radicals on both sides.

"I've had two needs to call Capitol Police (you're a fool if you still call 911 and talk to Lumumba's hires) and both times the response time to my home in Fondren have been excellent."

Dang dude, I'm 60 and have never called 911 nor know anyone who has ever called 911. For the past 30 years I've lived in Madison/Rankin Counties. If I had to call 911 that often, there'd be a "for sale" sign in front of my house. There's an old saying, "if you live among cannibals, don't be surprised to find yourself in the boiling pot."

Darren LaMarca should be ashamed. He knows what he is doing is wrong. Hope the prestige was worth the price of your soul, Darren.

P.S. read "Live Not by Lies" by Rod Dreher.

Lynn had cancelled the 'all Friday half day' work schedule as well as comp time requests for the remainder of the election season.

She will now be dug-in deep and burning the midnight oil. An Attorney General of a state has a job to do, ya know.

Anonymous said...

By all means we must ensure that the civil rights of the multitude of criminals in Jackson are protected.

Anonymous said...

State needs to start looking into moving agencies out of Jackson. That’s where this is headed. Tit for tat until the only loser is going to be the city of Jackson who of course will cry racism

Anonymous said...

Haha wait a second. I thought the last allegation was that the CCID was racist because it only included the "white areas".

Now it's racist because the City of Jackson is 75+% black?

Pick one, dammit.

Anonymous said...

Get out of Jackson NOW- while you CAN!

This shines a light on how the DOJ helps fine tunes the living environment in cities and states throughout the country. By suing them in noble ways that ultimately enhance nothing, the squeaky wheels to keep on squeaking. They've proudly been a tremendous blessing to No One Ever. And such a bargain all the while. I await the day they sue themselves, for not having sued themselves.

Anonymous said...

They don’t care about winning the case. They care about dragging it out so long that it doesn’t matter.

Anonymous said...

Being sued for trying to stop murderers. You get what you vote for. Elections matter.

Anonymous said...

Hey, go on and admit it. You weren't surprised by this. If you were surprised by this, you haven't been paying attention. There is a full-blown Marxist regime in charge of the country.

This regime is against decency, law, and order. No expense will be spared, no task either great, or small will stop them from their assault on these two issues. Pay attention, and be honest. This isn't the country you were taught it was.

Anonymous said...

“I have not seen a JPD cruiser in going on two months.“

I’ve wondered if this were intentional by Lumumba. After all, you aren’t a good little Communist if you aren’t intentionally braking down society.

Anonymous said...

They are already moving state offices out of Jackson. They just need to go ahead and move the rest out faster. Move UMMC which is a state funded hospital and let Jackson have Jackson. Without state workers and the medical facilities they wont have any tax dollars left. The city has nothing to provide now. I am honestly curious if their is any functioning part of city government left.

Since no judges have been appointed yet, the claim seems premature at best. Beyond that, the notion that a county has the authority to create its own kind of approach to dealing with crime is a novel one. Since when did any county have that authority? State law governs how criminal matters are to be dealt with, and that is applicable to all counties. No such thing as "home rule" when it comes to this kind of thing. Unless the DOJ is trying to say that Hinds County has the right to elect or appoint judges who will ignore State law

Anonymous said...

Benny did this. He can’t solve a door knob

Anonymous said...

5:04 p.m. never called 911? Come on dude, get out of your bubble and live a little. I know you don’t have any real problems in Ramadison County, but at least call to report the worst crime you have to experience in Candy Land: Dave Roberts getting the weather forecast wrong.

There are more JPD cruisers that reside in Rankin and Madison counties than Hinds county. Let that sink in. The cops won’t even live there.

Also, to the poster that says move the state agencies out of Jackson, it’s coming. Lots of hush hush talk of moving them out by the prison and Whitfield between Pearl and Brandon. Coliseum and ag stuff too. It’s super quiet, but it’s coming. Even the state knows when to cut ties.

8:22 PM, thanks for posting the very accurate article.

Its author correctly states “politicians choose to increase power by increasing dysfunction.”

Part of that dysfunction includes Crime, a tactic used by leftist Democrats to keep people that are too smart to vote Democrat from moving into cities like Jackson.

One only has to look at who runs all of the other high “Crime” “Dysfunctional” cities for validation.

And now when the state of Mississippi tries to help with crime, the Democrat Department of Injustice Feds are coming to their rescue - in order buy loyalty votes from Lumumba et al.

Anonymous said...

This is a bad bill and it needs to die. JXN is on life support! Let it slowly but surely fade away.

Anonymous said...

DOJ = Department of Just-Us.

Anonymous said...

When I saw the word black capitalized I quit reading. The DOJ is "woke" and if we don't end this madness soon someone will come along and end it for us. Russia pushed the war in Ukraine to deplete the arms stockpiles of the western nations. Our idiot president confirms this for all our enemies. Meanwhile China builds their military strength and makes their plans. But hey, at least reoperations are in the works.

11:20 I see one every morning about 6:35 returning from his shift to his home in Madison MS. My question is... how does he afford to live in Madison on a Jackson cop salary? I don't blame him for wanting to live in Madison though.

Anonymous said...

8:16 PM et al, be very, very careful what you wish for!!! Some moves might make sense but the State must be careful as leftist Democrats are a cancer - so moving too many state employees to Rankin County will certainly result in its demise.

It may take some time, but trust someone having watched Democrats carefully and tactically destroy Jackson, MS – expediting the process in the 1990’s with Jackson’s mayor brining in an out of state police chief – causing crime rates to soar.

Anonymous said...

6:46 - It's no longer a bill. It's been signed into law. For now.

Let Jackson sink it's self. Like Captain Smith deliberately running the Titanic into the Iceberg. By the way, when and where is the next gun show. Need to load up on some supplies.

Why would you go get ripped off when you can get it cheaper at a local gun store or at Palmetto or Gunbuyer?

In the 36 years I have been alive living in Clinton, Ellisville, Mobile Alabama, Clinton (again) and now Ridgeland I have not once ever had to call 911 for myself. So 5:04 is right.

Too bad that ability doesn't extend to leadership.

Anonymous said...

All these commentators saying “f-it let Jackson kill itself” seem to forget it is OUR Capitol city. This is why we are not intervening in the failing cities of Greenville, Greenwood, Yazoo..etc. If the citizens have to come to Jackson we should have an expectation of safety. That is a bigger job than the Mayor is capable of doing. Thus, legislative action. It is just that simple to me.

Anonymous said...

The Capitol Police have been doing a phenomenal job. EVERYONE should be thankful. If anyone doesn't like HB 1020 then they are part of the problem.

Anonymous said...

It would cost state taxpayers billions of dollars to move state agencies and UMMC to adjacent counties. The MDOT building is a prime example of this. Just don’t make anymore investment in facilities in Jackson.

The trend for Democrats now is to legalize crime. They think it’s ok to steal from businesses, burglarize homes and commit carjackings with a gun to someone’s head. They are only against guns for law abiding citizens.

Anonymous said...

Be careful what you ask for, moving several thousand government workers into Rankin County is not going to turn it into Silicon Valley or Beverly Hills. You'll just get more fast food places.

Anonymous said...

@8:54 AM - If I've said it once I've said it a thousand times, like an addict, Jackson will not return to its former greatness until it hits rock bottom. That could happen in 5-7 years, so hang on and lock and load.

Until then, it's not my capital.

Anonymous said...

The DOJ as the nerve to say Mississippi has a two tiered system of justice? !!!!
What a joke. DOJ and the FBI the most corrupt law enforcement in n the US with coverups of Hunter, Sleepy Joe and Hillary!

Anonymous said...

Jackson won't hit bottom until the BK declaration. The rapidly eroding tax base can not maintain the infrastructure. Doesn't make economic sense to replace water/sewer/roads on residential streets where only two or three inhabited properties remain. Large parts of Jackson are environmental disaster areas.

Anonymous said...

ANYTHING LaMarca says going forward about Jackson crime is 100% lip service BS. He doesn't even live in Jackson.

QueenBeew said...

It'll be so nice if the capitol was moved and allow the radical people to have Jackson! Let them have it! I'm sick of it!

Why wouldn't Lil Choke and Bennie T want teens to live long enough to vote?

Anonymous said...

July 13, 2023 at 7:49 AM: All housing in Madison is not outrageously priced. There are houses of all prices and people of all races and all incomes living in Madison.

Anonymous said...

3:00 PM, “teens live long enough to vote?”

Democrats don’t even care about 5-year-olds being killed, must less teens (see link below).

Dead children are collateral damage in exchange for power and leftist Democrats keeping their power depends on high crime rates so they can control cities like Jackson.

Give Mr. Kenneth Stokes for credit for telling the truth, ““We’re (Jackson is) being known as the child killing capital, not the capital of the State of Mississippi.”

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
