The city of Jackson issued the following statement.
Due to recent storms, trash pickup will be delayed today. Strong winds caused a temporary power outage att he Waste Management transfer station. This is preventing the transfer of trash collections. Crews are currently working to restore power and Richard’s Disposal will resume service as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience.

O no! What will we do?
Have you ever noticed the least little intervention, of whatever type or cause, will shut down
one of Jackson's municipal obligations?
ROFLMAO. Not may be delayed, will be delayed.
Administrative impotence = The Story of Chowkey Antard Lumumba.
So, Richard's isn't even a fully independent contractor for waste disposal services? Go figure.
Dump the trash on the ground. Nobody in Jackson will notice the difference.
60K a month in IT service should have them fixed up in no time .
So, I guess thunderstorms are the new excuse for everything. I wonder if I can sell that BS to my employer??
@10:50 AM I'm pretty sure Jackson IT has nothing to do Entergy's electric service.
Figured this fell under Business as Usual.
Jackson is lost.
I wont say 'get out while you can' because that notion is too silly to type at this point of the death spiral.
It’s not their fault, we had a quarter of an inch rain last week. Everything else seems to be working, except
1. Roads are undrivable.
2. Murder ranks number one in the country.
3. Deserted houses are overgrown with weeds and other wild growth.
4. You can’t drive at night for fear of getting run over by drag racers.
5. Electricity is sporatic at best.
6. City swimming pools look like sewage treatment plants, and who knows, they might be.
7. The water is unusable because of raw sewage being dumped in it.
8. I don’t believe there is a livable hotel or motel in the city limits. When one of the network pre football game teams filmed at the stadium across from the Univ. Med. Center, they were obviously informed as they commuted from Pearl.
Other than these and other “minor inconveniences”, I can’t think of any reason to visit and stay in the Capitol city.
Feel better now? Was all that just pent up inside waiting to get out? Or are you the poster who has to repeat it over and over again?
Richards is picking up in Eastover at 1 pm. Grabbed everything I put out!
Repeating Lil Choke's "short" comings may cause the little emperor to celebrate marxist triumphs, but if accurately described, may get his base to question his competency enough to try a different mayor.
Perhaps KF might inform this site if the COJ has a role in clearing fallen trees that prevent Lift Truck crews from repairing poles and lines, thereby indicting boy mayor with yet more incompetence, ruining the quality of life in Jackson by not quickly and effectively removing fallen trees, slowing repairs from hours to days.
Unfortunately, Lil Choke can't hire and keep competent staff nor pay his bills on time, thereby running potential contractors away. Jackson, the fastest shrinking city in America, circles the drain.
10:50 you beat me to IT ! ( no pun intended )
Mine got picked up earlier than usual today in NE Jackson.
I can’t put my finger on it but “recent storms” sounds like an excuse. I didn’t have electricity for over a week after Hurricane Katrina, but Waste Management picked up the garbage.
In the Madison city limits Waste Management comes by on the same day each week within the same three hour window, week in and week out, and picks up all the properly organized yard waste and storm debris that you put to the street.
MHB is one seriously (and highly) competent Mayor!
I am not the Jackson-is-lost harpy but it is odd that KF does not get his knickers in a twist when "Brandon is lost" or "Madison is lost".
Odd that it is ok to use that same sentence against the burbs but it is somehow revolting for Jackson to hear it.
11 32 you are correct, as Entergy is pathetic in their entire service area, and not just in Jackson.
Lucky Chuck has Waste Management to blame.
4:21,
Kingfish mistakenly thinks it’s just one person saying the same thing. Instead, it’s a large number of people saying the same thing. He chooses to silence them. Why? He’s more worried about getting RINOs like Delbert to buy another political ad.
Jackson is overwhelmingly black. The white vote is largely Republican and meaningless. Jackson will not improve until black voters actually go to the polls and elect a mayor who is not corrupt and has a brain. I hope they will. Soon.
Kingfish is a “Jackson” Lover
$:21pm has a confusing post, aye.
Rankin and Madison have successful growing economies that efficiently control (not eliminate) crime and expand their economic base, as their taxpayers expect, whereas Jackson has rampant, uncontrolled crime, a national record in per capita murders and shrinking population and a marxist elitist mayor who can only attract sub-par garbage companies, dollar stores, exploitive check cashing/ paycheck loan sharks, one-hour motel ho houses and hair/nail parlors.
See the difference?
The heat is getting hotter. The next problem Jackson will blame on the heat. They already said cold, rain, wind, crime, poor roads, potholes, missing manhole covers, nonworking signal lights, is racist. Why should heat be given a pass?
