Today is Don Rickles' birthday. He would have been 97 years old if he still lived. In celebration of his birthday, enjoy his roast of one Samuel Davis, Jr.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and this Jim Carey sketch of Don Rickles is no exception. Enjoy .

Classic. Thanks. Rickles calling it as he sees it. Carey was pretty good as an ersatz.
Boy you askin' for it this mornin' ain'tchu? This one goes not only in your personnel file, but in your 'permanent record'.
Back when the world had a sense of humor. Bunch of crybabies nowadays.
I remember many years ago my social studies teacher showed us a picture of his cousin, who was a professional bodyguard. His cousin was employed by Don Rickles. The teacher then showed us a larger picture of his cousin with Mr. Rickles. My teacher was a bit perplexed that Mr. Rickles needed a bodyguard. I also recall my teacher not having a sense of humor either.
I remember well the Dean Martin Roasts as a kid.
Tuxedos for the men, dresses for the ladies and laughs for all.
Glorifying this racist pig now KF? Isn't Don the one who said he was constipated in a plane until he flew over Mississippi? Pissed off the current gov at that time. Are you too young to remember KF? Oh that's right we're just sensitive.
8:21 here.
@8:51: My teacher whose cousin was Rickles' bodyguard was African American. I also think it was Jerry Lee Lewis that said the comment about $hitting on Mississippi, but I don't know why we got so mad because we $hit all over our state everyday.
just a bunch of Hockey Pucks!!!!
Hey 8:51, Get over yourself!
The dais knew what jokes were coming, this being scripted, so that had to be hard work, those Dean Martin roasts, feigning doubling over with laughter and surprise for minutes on end.
It’s striking to me now seeing Rickles, Berle, the ever unfunny Jan Murray, Norm Crosby, all on one stage at once. No quotas back then, I guess.
I did learn something, though. I never knew Sammy Davis was balding.
@10:30, That was Jerry Lewis (born Joseph Levitch), not Jerry Lee Lewis (born "The Killer"). You should know the difference. Are you even from around here?
