The Mississippi Automobile Dealers Association, representing car dealers across the state, endorsed Delbert Hosemann in his bid for re-election for Lt. Governor today.
“Legislation aimed at growing our educated workforce and encouraging our state’s small businesses to thrive and grow are priorities for us. With his past experience as a businessman, Delbert understands the important role car dealers play for Mississippians and the communities we serve,” MADA President Marty Milstead said.
Elected as Lt. Governor in 2019 with more than 60 percent of the vote. Hosemann’s platform centers on securing Mississippi’s elections, cutting taxes on working people, addressing crime in our communities, investing in our roads and bridges, growing our economy, improving educational opportunities, and running state government as efficiently as possible.
Hosemann previously served as Secretary of State following a long career as a businessman and tax lawyer.
“Automobile dealers create thousands of jobs and meet the transportation needs of our citizens,” Hosemann said. “Like all of our small businesses, they are critical to our economy in Mississippi. We are grateful for their support.”
Hosemann’s first term has been marked with multiple policy wins: reducing the income tax rate to 4 percent, one of the lowest rates in the country; reducing the state’s debt by more than $500 million; providing an average raise of $6,000 for teachers; streamlining workforce development efforts; increasing access to high-speed broadband internet; and investing hundreds of millions of dollars in roads, bridges, ports, water and sewer, and other infrastructure.
Hosemann and his wife Lynn, married 52 years, are extremely proud of their three children and eight grandchildren.
The Republican Primary Election is on August 8, 2023.
