Where's the Brick Wall?

Warning: Language not safe for work, school, or Kiffinites.

To say Georgia came out ready to seek and destroy last night was an understatement. The only thing missing was a crybaby insult before the game.   Speaking of pre-game, check out Coach Kirby Smart's locker room speech to his footballers before they took the field.

Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit spared TCU in their nightcap recap.

Every time I see Chris Fowler, I'm reminded that the man seriously needs to be on meds. Serious meds.

I get that the wins/losses have TCU in there, but they never should have been. Something needs to be done because that game only had one of the two best in the country. That TCU QB is in pain this morning.

Wonder if he talks to his mother with a foul mouth like that. No respect for this guy no matter how many championships he wins.

Turned it off @ half. Would have been fun to watch Harbaugh gets his ass kicked like that.

“We don’t have the good fortune to play an out-of-conference game as the SEC does in Week 10 or Week 11. You’re not going to catch The Citadel in Week 10. We caught Texas.”

8:51 - so what is your recommendation? TCU beat who they had to beat all the way through the season to get to the championship game. Should they have been denied the opportunity to play for a national championship because they have not historically been one of the elite? Tell me o wise one.

Is Herbie wearing water skis? I thought that video was in 3D for a minute.

Great role model. I bet those players are perfect gentlemen when they take your daughters out on the town. Perfect gentlemen.

It’s important, this. Because football, you know.

College football is having an crisis and last night did not help.

Four straight championships for the SEC. 13 of the last 17. The only people that like this live in SEC country. The rest of the country is abandoning college football. The 12-team playoff is, in my opinion, a last ditch effort to save it.

81 of the ESPN Top 100 high school recruits went to six schools. Those six schools are always in the hunt for the playoff, so they are getting the best players. Last night was Georgia just doing whatever they wanted to an outmatched team because they had better players. The kid from Germantown in Madison is fourth string and scored two touchdowns.

Right now, the best high school players have two options. Go to one of the six schools that has a realistic chance at winning a championship, or go get paid at a place like Texas A&M or Texas that is throwing money at a problem that money won't fix. A 12-team playoff will expand the number of teams that have a shot at winning a title to about 20 or so, but that's it.

Add in the transfer portal nonsense where a third of most teams' starters are transfers, and if someone doesn't get playing time or sees a bigger NIL paycheck at another school, they transfer and you get a college game that is drastically different than the one we grew up a fan of.

If you don't think its real, take a look at attendance. The two SEC schools in this state have had decent success recently and can't fill their stadiums. Both State and Ole Miss played in bowl games that were in half empty stadiums.

My best guess is that the 12 team playoff will have a couple of years where the same six teams are in the hunt, but as soon as a TCU (or UCF, Boise State, etc.) pulls a huge upset, college football will have a resurgence of note. Until then, a 65-7 championship game will be a stain on it's dying popularity.

8:57 & 10:03

It's locker room talk - literally.

Rah rah BS. Like these overpaid thugs are going over the top into heavy machine gun fire. Spare us.

College football (technically American football since real football is what was played in the World Cup last month) is no longer students representing their schools, it is strictly a business and should be treated as such, so college players should be paid and not required to attend class.

11:57...exactly the point. This kind of talk is going on all over America by coaches who are looked up to by our children. Then we wonder why they act like they do.

I don't know who it should have been, but it shouldn't have been TCU. They are obviously not 2nd best in college football. Michigan most likely, but they lost to TCU by 6, but had the same wins and losses so I don't know that, but if you get beat like they did, I would make a Matress Mack sized wager there is another team better than TCU out there.

Trash talk, I guess. All I want to know is how many quarters did his momma make him put in the cuss jar?

Can you motivate a team without such tactics? During my days, I was motivated by much cleaner vocabulary.

My memories include - "If we're going to have any chance tonight, You gott'a be Agile, Hostile, and Motile! Now lets go play Football!"

Maybe he shoud have used decent language and wrapped his pep talk up by shooting someone on the third string practice squad through the head with a 32 revolver. I bet that would have motivated the rest.

12:16...not attending class is coming next. Heck, even non-athletes will probably start demanding it soon.

How do you get superior players to absolutely dominate? I would thrown in some made up insults against my baddest MFers in there to really tune them up.

You just heard it. All you bellyachers are just that. Who gives a shit what he says? The curse words are incidental. The intensity of the moment was what he was conveying. Did a damn good job of it too. A nice, calm, preacher speech would have gotten him 42-27. Intensity like that gives you 65-7. I want to hear his halftime speech. It's probably not quite that, but I bet it is close.

HELL YEAH! LFG!!!!!

After listening to this, I feel like tackling the next person I see in public! If there is anyone who listened to this that's not hyped the f up and ready to give it all they've got and smash into something, then all I can say is they ain't no true American.

Football, football, football, and MORE FOOTBALL!!!!!! Let's get it!

Sportsball, sigh

12:16: I believe Texas ATM already blazed that trail when Johnny Manziel played there. We see how well that non-character-building experience worked out for him.

Fowler and his nuanced growl enunciations are obnoxious and not necessary. He's a tool that thinks he's hot $hit. How he landed the role for the championship game is a tragedy.

Several generations have been taught that someone "yelling" at them is never to be tolerated under any circumstances, and "it's just not necessary". This has been part of the leftist agenda for 40 years now to convey that "anger" and "rage" aren't a good thing.

It's why America has far fewer warriors today because they have no concept of using that passion to defeat or conquer anything...except quietly alone, in a video game.

Listen, I expect to hear various iterations of the F word in locker rooms, but that was every other word out of his mouth. Like, Kirby, is that the sum total of your vocabulary? I’m not impressed.

Totally uncalled for!

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
