Posted below are the Senate maps for the Jackson metro area after redistricting. It appears David Blount picked up some more Northeast Jackson at Walter Michel's expense. There are some other changes but if you want to find out if you got switched around, check out the maps. JJ will post the maps of the House of Representatives later this week. .

Why would anyone in NE Jackson vote for Blount?
Thank you for this, KF!

New residents will. Old residents probably died or moved.
1:01 - because they will be outnumbered by the folks in South Jackson that will vote for him because he has a D by his name, and the ability of anyone in NE Jackson to be him with the combination of precincts that he now has - the folks in NE Jackson won't have a choice.
IF a black "D" were to run against Blount in a primary, they would probably beat him, unless the "D" powers (assuming there are some) got together and put the opposition down.
Of the 52 state senators, the vast majority will run unopposed in districts they or their colleagues created.
We need to reduce the size of the state legislature!
Too bad they're not legible.
The Constitution Commission committees after a lengthy amount of work made proposals to reduce the number of legislators and make State government more efficient.
Brad Dye made sure that the Commission was disbanded before even one proposal was considered.
I suggest all of you look to see if your representatives ever proposed one bill or did anything other than show up long enough to collect per diem and expenses for meetings to "earn" their salary.
8:08 - and more importantly, to get PERS vested. We all can name one or two who only propose or draft a bill or two only to have it appear they're looking out for the little people.
