A vaccinated person can still breathe in the covid virus, but with the vaccine, your body can respond and defeat it much much quicker (which is being proven in the hospitalization stats). I'm in no way suggesting that people shouldn't get the vaccine(s). That is YOUR choice, and YOUR choice alone. I am, however, suggesting that much of what the world has been told about the vaccines, by the government(s) and the media, has proven to be untrue for reasons (hopefully) of profit and not some other nefarious reason. You can come back at my statements with a knee-jerk denial, but like Sen. Moynihan so famously said, "you're entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts." The truth is still the truth, whether you like it or not. This is NOT a pandemic of the unvaccinated. The data clearly prove otherwise.

The vaccine is not 100% effective in preventing infections. Breakthrough infections are expected and will likely increase as vaccine induced anti-body levels wane over time and the number of cases caused by new variants less susceptible to the anti-bodies (ie. Omicron) increase.

The important thing is that people with a breakthrough infection are far less likely to become seriously ill (or die) than those who are unvaccinated and infected.

However, people with break through infections and mild (or no) symptoms can still be contagious. That's why they quarantine- to prevent further spread and to protect those at greatest risk of serious illness and death, the immunocompromised and unvaccinated.

So Gilbert picked up the Covid in New Orleans and has been the spreader under the dome. How ironic.

@12:00 - For me, the scariest part of Covid is the threat of becoming seriously I’ll and possibly dying and spreading the virus to someone else causing them to become seriously I’ll and dying. It is a fact that if you are vaccinated, you greatly reduce those risks. It’s almost as if the vaccine predates a strain that it was never designed for, a real mystery why it is no longer viable.

My husband and I are double vaccinated as well as boosted. Two weeks ago while dining at a local restaurant we saw a friend who is also double vaccinated and boosted. Our friend joined us at the table to chat and she sat next to me for at least 10 minutes.

A couple of days later our friend informed us she had just tested positive for COVID-19 after being informed of exposure. She had attended a luncheon the previous week, and one of the attendees, not vaccinated, ended up in the hospital with COVID-19. That person was moved to ICU, placed on a ventilator in an induced coma, and died last week.

(My husband and I both developed slight cold-like symptoms that have passed and we didn't even try to go get tested. We might have had a cold for all we know. Our friend is fine now.)

Seatbelts have been proven effective over the course of many years.

Data from around the world consistently show the vaccines are 95% or more effective in preventing hospitalization and/or death. That alone is a good reason to get the shots. You may still be infected, but you will survive.
