Jackson Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba recommends Richard's Disposal of New Orleans gets the new garbage contract. The agenda for today's meeting of the City Council states:
The Mayor rebid the garbage contract after the City Council rejected his recommendation of FCC Connect six months last fall. Oddly enough, Richard's Disposal scored last among the three proposers at the time.
Oddly enough, there is nothing related to the garbage contract or Richard's Disposal in the board packet that was posted online this morning. The Mayor is apparently playing very close to the vest on this one.

Follow the money.
How is the Mayors sister connected to the Néw Orleans garbage company?
Follow...the...money.
It would seem that Waste Disposa'sl palm-grease was insufficient, right?
What’s wrong with Waste Management? That is clearly the only service provided in Jackson that works well. And I thought he wanted to fire WM to go with a local company and now it’s a company from Nola?? This is fraud in the making
flying drone garbage removal?
I’m sorry but one thing that is reliable and consistent as a resident of Jackson is Waste Management’s services. I don’t understand why we can’t just renew our contract with them and move on. Oh, wait it’s probably one of his buddies and he’s getting a nice little kickback. It’s like Siemens all over again new boss same as the old boss. Would that mean we’d all have to fork out whatever the cost is for one of those big ass blue trash cans?
Odd.
If it ain't broke, please don't fix it.
As others said, pretty much the only city service that actually functions as intended is Waste Management, so we better make sure to mess that up too. This place is a joke, because our mayor is a joke.
Funny, I see where New Orleans is rebidding their garbage deal currently.... Hmmmmm

Seems Richards is capable and apparently better than "Metro" and meets a primary requirement for the Mayor of Jackson
"Former (New Orleans) Mayor Ray Nagin shaped that system, heralding the contracts – which together are worth between $20 million and $25 million annually – as the most lucrative in the city’s history for minority-owned firms."
The mayor of Jackson is engaging in corruption in broad daylight.

They can't even handle NOLA, much less a different city.
Who thought THIS was a good idea? Oh, yeah, Chuckles the Clown.
Looks Chock Full of Nuts got some campaign money from a Néw Orleans garbage company. Since Jackson folks are voting for mainly black folks Chock Full can apply this to a congressional race. Happy MLK day You'all!
Put that story in context. That took place right after Ida when the city was overwhelmed with garbage, power outages, and other problems related to the disaster.
Let me go on record by saying when, not if, the mayor changes from Waste Management to some brother in law type deal to change the garbage handling in Jackson, it will go downhill quickly, just like the Siemens deal. Mark my word. And Mayor, I know you and your minions read this blog, everyone will be pointing and laughing at you, again.
Leave it to Chowke to go "Dicking around" with something that actually worked. Perhaps a protest at City Hall is in order with signs that read:
We
Don't do
Dick!
New Orleans certainly is a model that every city everywhere would want to emulate.
"The Incredible Dr. Pol" on the National Geographic channel is an adequate comparison for Lumumba's approach to governing. There's no telling what Dr. Pol will pull out of an animal's rear end. Similarly, the mayor seems to pull one stinking idea after another from his own rear end to see if any can somehow survive, no matter how much feces are present.
Look up the Stan Pampee Barre scandal. Alvin Richard’s fingerprints are all over it. After that, he began working with Ray Nagin along with Metro on New Orleans contracts.
Aww, now 2:55 --- just because Richards and his partner Woods gave $10 grand bribe to get a little school board trash hauling contract, passing it through the Stan Barre NOLA political bank accounts, shouldn't lead one to believe that those fine upstanding businessmen (who can't 'remember' who their business partners are) would be the type that would be offering a bribe to move from last to first for this contract, now would you?
Richards Disposal Inc. See google reviews...Bahahaha that's who we want, yessir
I am in possession of a photo of Fred Sanford's pick-em-up truck with Richard's Garbage Disposal logo on the driver's side door. Two brooms and a shelvel rest in an upright PVC pipe in the cargo-bed. Kingfish won't allow the posting of pictures. I'll see if Maggie can use it.
