Mob Tries to Occupy CHS's Office

Note: Comment on the Kavanaugh hearings in this post.

Actress Alyssa Milano and a small mob tried to occupy the office of Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith yesterday.  The protestors was perturbed that the Senator defended Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh on the floor of the Senate yesterday and wanted to have a few words with her.   Start watching video at 20:30.

The Daily Wire reported:

Far-left actress Alyssa Milano paraded around a mob of anti-Kavanaugh activists on Wednesday and began pounding on the door of Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS) while shouting, "open the door, hear the stories!" about women who survived sexual assault.

The goal of these #Womentowomen protests was about potentially persuading female backers of President Trump's SCOTUS nominee Brett Kavanaugh into withdrawing their support. Hyde-Smith's staff reportedly granted them no such hearing, according to one protester.

"[Hyde-Smith’s staff] seemed to be smirking and on their phones and they then just went back into their office and closed the door," says a protester in the video. "And the gentleman who said he was going to find out just sort of snuck in and grabbed something and left."

Alyssa Milano led the women in several different chants: "Open the door! Hear the stories!" and "Open your heart! Hear the stories!" were the most popular.

When the protesters were not pounding on the door, some of them took turns sharing heartfelt stories of sexual abuse they claim to have experienced. Rest of article.

CHS is a coward, including for not saying anything about Kavanaugh until after McDaniel called her out. I don't care for either McDaniel or CHS, but she is just an obvious sell-out who (like most politicians) will simply say or do whatever she thinks will get her elected.

They are paid by the liberals to disrupt and tear down this country.

Don't worry - CHS can lasso them in in a heartbeat - just like the one she got back in her pasture after she was appointed Senator!

11:20a, a lot of these protestors are actually paid to do this. Directly or indirectly.

She seems credible in her testimony. The hard part is there is literally no way to know the truth here after the passage of this amount of time.

She absolutely believes that this happened to her in her mind. Delusional people absolutely believe things happened to them too. NOW, if this really & truthfully happened will never be known.

I have my doubts. Christine Blasely Ford is a liberal, democrat, gave money to democratic causes, lives in California, voted Democrat, studied in a liberal college & is non religious.

1206, I call bullcrap on your claim. CHS first came out in favor of Kavanaugh on July 9. She attended the announcement of his nomination at the WH and again proclaimed her support. Twice the next week she publicly commented on meeting with him in her office and proclaimed her support. Many other times during July and August before Crazy McD said anything. If you cant to make comments in support 9f McD at least make them somewhat believable.

Alyssa Milano hasn't worked for quite some time and also exposed herself in the Maxim or FHM magazine. I know right, she's such a women right advocates and makes money of of her body. Thats exactly why she's such a hypocrite and no one really gives 2 $#!ts what hollywood thinks or does. Hey Alyssa go back to your gated hollywood L.A. house and your upper east side apartment loft and stop ruining the lives of others. She still thinks she's the boss I guess… pun intended. What's the big problem? Just find one of many other conservative judges who don't have something like this in their past. It's pretty obvious that being president of the "T&C" Club at Yale would have been problematic.

I am a bad person. I drank, smoked, and fucked a lot in college and got my first blow job by my girlfriend in 10th grade. By those standards I was a late bloomer. Watching the Democrats preach today made me nauseated. Ford is a paid for fraud and who gives a shit what a kid did back in the day. A man is made by his actions as an adult, not an adolescent. This is the ultimate in ridiculous. I guess I can’t run for office cause I shit my diaper and it leaked out on my mommy when I was 6 months old.

What’s ironic is the activists and race baiters who shout that we shouldn’t judge a suspect before he has a right to a fair trial(and even then say injustice was served) are the same ones jumping up and down and already have Kavanaugh guilty and trying to percecute him without having a reasonable suspicion....35 years and shaky story after the fact.

Proud of CHS for backing him. Wish she would have opened the door and kicked one of them in the throat.

CHS is running for the Senate from Mississippi, not California. She probably hired those bozos to protest her specifically. Kavanaugh the drunken party boy will be confirmed by a Republican majority that could care less whether he pulled the panties off some dizzy broad back in high school. Who cares? Really.

What's the harm in hearing from some witnesses and maybe letting a prosecutor question the judge instead of just the woman? The republicans have just lost me over the last couple years. I don't believe in all the crazy conspiracies they've been peddling and it's pretty much impossible to defend them if you don't believe the conspiracies. The whole party has turned into your crazy drunk uncle. To believe that this woman was paid by the democrats to go before the country and lie in this fashion is just beyond my belief. Any accusations of such behavior with absolutely zero proof against a likely rape victim prove they don't ever deserve my vote.

I'm sure these crazies actions, storming into offices, expecting to be seen (without an appointment as every body else does when dealing with professionals), screaming and shouting in these members offices convinced a lot of folks. Would have convinced me to vote against their 'cause', if for no other reason than because of their actions and disrespect.

@10:19pm, you're probably correct. She probably wasn't paid. She suffers from the same problem you have, a mental disorder. What witnesses where you going to call? So far, no one admits to having any knowledge of this alleged incident. That's one of the great things about this country, guilty until proven innocent. Oh, that conspiracy thing you brought up, is spot on. It's hard to believe those Republicans would accuse Trump of colluding with the Russians.

If her motives were not political, as she has stated, then why did she go to the Democrats to tell her story and not the FBI? (35 years later)(even though she is fairly connected to the democrats).

Also, I bet all of these senators speaking against Brett Kavanaugh wouldn't voluntarily have a back ground check and people coming forward to establish their past history.

Interesting to hear from the DKE from Ole Miss as I wondered if the frat's reputation was as bad here as on the East Coast. In the east , it was wealthy boys who had been expelled or gotten into trouble but with daddies who paid for " restitution". The girls who joined sororities were warned so it was girls from blue collar and middle class families who were targeted.

6:34 am, if your girlfriend was willing, that's fine. Girls have hormones , too. What is it about being assaulted, forced and/or threatened you don't understand?

Let me be specific, if you are being willingly kissed and hugged and make a move and she doesn't move your hand and say " no" or " stop" or any combination of words or actions , it's different than you suddenly grab her private parts. If she's drunk or drugged, she can't give consent. If you are 18 and she's underage, it's statutory rape.

Why is this hard?

What I took from the hearing is that our elected Senators care more about their party retaining power than protecting the dignity and reputation of a key institution of democracy.

And, it seemed pretty clear to me that the intensity of Judge Kavanaugh's anger was such that it may well bias his decisions should he be confirmed. He chose not just a personal defense but an attack on an entire political party rather than a few of the members of that party.

We have been propagandized to see the parties as " Demon crats" or " Deplorables" and forgotten we are all Americans.

Our enemies , without doubt, enjoyed the hearings.

For those of you who are " proud" to watch only one cable news channel, you aren't getting all the facts and you have no ability to discern fact from fiction or which talking heads are more reliable than other talking heads.

And, it means some of you haven't seen any of the court transcripts of sworn testimony and what exactly some plead guilty to doing specifically. You got the general charge only.

There is comfort in ignorance. It's terrible to realize your instincts and assessments of who to trust aren't perfect. It's a blow to the ego. But, our country is more important than your ego.

Anonymous said...

It's all bullshit. The American people are no more intelligent than the party hustlers we call congress thinks we are. Neither party gives a flying damn about rape or Kavanaugh. They just want to maintain POWER. Kavanaugh represents a good chance to lock up judicial power therefore the Republicans want him, whether he's a hopeless drunk or not. The Democrats want to block that at all costs whether they have to find some delusional psycho to dredge up a 35 year old nightmare or something else. They don't give a damn about right or wrong. Neither party does. The American people are stupid as hell for taking this con game seriously.

Bill Clinton's rape accuser, Juanita Broaddrick, has made some apropos comments. “Dr. Ford has no evidence. I had the who, what, when, where and how and had five people that I told, not even counting the woman who found me 30 minutes after the rape with a swollen busted lip, torn clothes and in a state of shock.” Broaddrick went on to attack Democrats, such as Sens. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., who she said did not believe her in the '90s but have jumped to believe Ford’s account, despite the corroborating evidence Broaddrick had.

“How they can take these accusations and run with them, and laugh at mine for so many years is the biggest double standard I’ve ever seen,” she said. “It makes me angry that they left [Clinton] in office,” she said about the Senate Democrats who she said refused to consider her allegations.

Sorry, 8:25 - but if someone accuses of you of something you did not do, I believe you would be just as angry. if you have never been betrayed, then, my friend, your day is coming. Betrayal is part of this world. Innocent folks get blamed everyday. And most suffer in silence. Everyone walking around has been betrayed at one point or another by someone. This should not have been a trial as the DEMOCRATS made it out to be, especially after he had several FBI background checks.

There is an interesting article at National Review Online titled, “‘False Memories’ Are More Common Than You Think.” https://www.nationalreview.com/2018/09/cognitive-science-false-memories-more-common-than-you-think/

It discusses research done or reviewed by Dr. Elizabeth Loftus. Dr. Loftus has been lauded by many liberals who claim her research proves the criminal justice system is biased against the poor since they don't have the resources needed to investigate and pick apart false memories. The article contains the following two paragraphs:

“Dr. Elizabeth Loftus, a cognitive scientist and law professor who has studied memory for more than 40 years, with a particular focus on how it unfolds in the courtroom, has advanced a number of illuminating studies over the years. One gathered information on 300 people in the United States who had gone to prison for crimes they did not commit, as proved by later DNA evidence. Of those 300 (some of whom were imprisoned as long as 30 years), three-quarters of the convictions were the result of the false memories of the accuser.”

“Though Dr. Loftus’s findings have been unpopular among some, the first case she investigated convinced her of the importance of her work. In the 1980s, Steve Titus was falsely accused of rape. Plain and simple: The accusation was the result of a misidentification. The victim had first picked him out of lineup, saying, “That one’s the closest,” meaning that she thought he most closely resembled the attacker. Later in the witness box, she stated, “I’m absolutely positive that’s the man.” Titus was sent to prison but then released, with the help of an investigative reporter who found the real rapist. The journalist won the Pulitzer Prize. But Titus lost everything: his job, his fiancée, his savings. He died of a stress-related heart attack shortly after, at age 35.”

In my law practice, I have some experience with what I’m convinced are False Memories. Unlike real memories, these almost always “develop” over years. The longer the time span, the more fertile the ground for growth of false memories. By contrast, real memories are clearer and more specific at the beginning and became hazier over time.

There is little independent support and/or corroboration for false memories, and the final version of the “false memory” has key contradictions with the earliest versions of any documented descriptions of the false memory.

And finally, there is always an incentive for the person with the “false memory” to adopt that memory. Usually that incentive is very personal – often having little to do with the accused and lots to do with addressing issues in a very close relationship. Thus, for instance, false memories with children seem to be more common. It’s not because children’s memories are bad. It's where the child subconsciously senses that a close relationship depends on the child adopting the false memory.

There is also one other unsettling conclusion supported by the research on false memories. WE ALL HAVE THEM FREQUENTLY. There are many things we say we remember but really don’t. What we mean is that we remember the memory of the memory. In other words, we remember the story we have told over and over again about catching the back yard on fire when we were 12 years old far more clearly than the actual event. That’s normal. But if that is true, it also means our memories are prone to migration over time as our retelling of the story mutates.

@8:25 feels very similar to me. This is all a power grab by both parties. As long as the American voters are complicit in this, the wool will always be over our eyes. The 'demon-crats' and 're-thug-licans' are taking turns at having their way with us. Unless you are some wealthy liberal or conservative, you do not matter to either party, except when they need your vote. The parties have been using the same tactics forever to divide and conquer the people for their purposes.

Hold your elected officials accountable! Start locally, then work your way up. This has to end, and hopefully in my grandkids' lifetime.

What should have been learned by logical, thinking, individuals, during the brief Trump administration, is that there is a power structure behind the scenes in Washington. I have known this for over 40 years. It's faceless, nameless, unelected bureaucrats that write the bills, and actually run the country. They are generally of the same mind, having been trained by the liberal colleges, and universities. The social engineers decided many years ago the direction of this country, and set the correct bureaucrats in place over the years to implement the desired goals. Why do you suppose this country continues in the same direction regardless of which political party is in control, or supposedly in control? The illusion of the two party system should have been recognized many years ago. There is no difference in the political parties. Behind the circus that is in play to divide the American people, the players are all on the same team. The motto they have followed all these years is still in effect, order out of chaos.

The New York Times defended Christine Blasey Ford’s failure to tell anyone about her alleged groping for 30 years by blithely saying things were different in the 1980's. It editorialized that, “a girl in the early 1980's would have blamed herself [rather] than report it.”

But when Patricia Bowman accused William Kennedy Smith of rape, is that the position taken by the Times? NO. It promptly reported on her speeding tickets, partying in adulthood and even dredged up an unnamed woman who claimed Bowman showed a ‘little wild streak’ in high school.

The lesson here is if your name is “Clinton,” or “Kennedy”, rape and even murder was perfectly okay. Only when Hillary lost and Teddy died did the need to ferociously protect the Democrats’ rapists cease.

I’ve watched the testimonies of both parties. Dr Ford seems credible but so much time has passed and there is no hard evidence to support her statements. However what is recent and credible are Judge K’s inability to keep himself composed, factual, non emotional and collaborative. He came off as an angry and belligerent man. Whether he did or did not assault Dr Ford, at this point is irrelevant what matters to me is that he is incapable of maintaining calm and no bias that is required for a Supreme Court Justice!

Anonymous said...

@9:07

Normally I would agree that a judicial candidate that cannot maintain composure under manufactured stress may not possess the ideal temperament for a judge. However, appellate judges have a tremendously different role than that of a trial judge that watches a battle unfold in his presence. But the bigger picture is that it is completely unreasonable to expect someone to act cool, calm and collected when they’ve just been lit on fire while the nation watches (with many taking immense pleasure in his destruction). I give him a pass for lashing out. If he had acted cold about the allegations under that much heat, I would have thought there was something off about him. His reactions were normal and human. And any person that doesn’t treat the allegations he’s defending himself against with suspicious is blinded by what they want to happen. The knee jerk reaction of believing every accuser 100% and always convicting the accused (but only if they are a public figure or represent something you oppose) conflicts with every tenet of our legal system, whether criminal or civil, and is incompatible with the constitution. Kavanaugh knows this much more than any of us and one can only imagine the frustration he must feel in having the law he loves turned upside down and ignored for the purpose of justifying the end result.

Everyone who works in a courtroom is an Officer of the Court. As such, honestly is always the guiding factor. Any dishonestly from any member of the court disqualifies that person from ever serving in a judicial capacity. If Kavanaugh will lie about something as trivial as getting drunk in high school and college, he most certainly cannot be trusted with holding office on our highest court. And his temperament is too volatile to be in the judiciary. We all need to keep in mind that the judiciary was created to be non-biased, and a judge is not supposed to act on their personal views and beliefs.

Claims that sexual assault allegations can almost always be trusted are just more fake news. A recent Washington Times article addresses research showing the exact opposite. See https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2018/oct/7/false-sex-assault-reports-not-rare-reported-studie/ The article states,

“Brent E. Turvey, a criminologist, wrote a 2017 book that dispels [the notion that sexual assault claims can almost always be trusted]. His research, and that of two co-authors, cited statistical studies and police crime reports. One academic study showed that as many as 40 percent of sexual assault charges are false. Mr. Turvey wrote that the FBI in the 1990s pegged the falsity rate at 8 percent for rape or attempted rape complaints.”

The article also states,

“The Pentagon issues an annual report on sexual assaults in the military. Nearly one-quarter of all cases last year were thrown out for lack of evidence, according to a report released in May.”

Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
