Double cop-killer suspect Marquis Flowers was out on parole for three charges of auto burglary in Pike County. Two Brookhaven police officers were killed in a shootout this morning. Another suspect was killed as well.
The Natchez Democrat reported he was arrested last year for stealing a vehicle and fleeing law enforcement while he was wearing an ankle-bracelet. He was released in October 2017.

This will only end when the good citizens get a belly full and decide they will have to do whatever it takes, no matter how old fashion it seems, to remove these types of animals from the our midst for good
Did the police have bullet proof vest on?
If body cam & dash cam video shows Mr. Flowers shooting the police, he should be summary executed. It would be my joy to perform this task if need be. And, I have never shot a gun in life. I might have to shoot the gun several times to find a vital spot.
Do not call him "Mr."
Most folks who know me, would call me a bleeding heart liberal...I do not believe in an eye for eye and I am 100% prolife, but if this POS gets the death penalty I am okay with that.

Do you mean summarily?
@8:19 PM Yes.

Even on a thread concerning the killing of 2 police officers, it's good to see the Grammar Police still on patrol.
"To Serve And Correct"
MDOC bears the entire responsibility for the loss of these two heroes.
Got to agree with 6:59pm. Somebody needs to get a rope !
7:55, bleeding heart liberals are not 100% pro-life.
I want him to receive the death penalty.
That said, calling him scum, doesn't fix anything.
Why was he on parole?
It is because he had no history of violent offenses?
Was it overcrowding in the jails or prisons? If so, would we for a tax targeted to increasing jail/prison space? I don't object but we have increased such space before and I'm not sure that we don't just get worse criminals as a result of their prison " education".
Stealing a car with a ankle bracelet, seems bizarre enough to merit revisiting a time when we could keep the criminally insane institutionalized until deemed safe to live among us.
My deepest sympathy to the families of these officers. I'm so sorry they had to give the ultimate sacrifice in protecting the rest of us.
What's missing from this information is what/who started a shooting at 5 AM & who/where's the other party that was involved? Why was someone shooting in the first place?
I don't think MDOC decides, arbitrarily or independently, to release prisoners on parole. That's not an MDOC function.
Buckle up your seat belt folks. The Body Cam & dash Cam video will be released MONDAY!
Who names the parole board? It ain't the DOC?
@7:20 the Great Governor alone chooses and appoints the Parole Board. I challenge you to look at the credintials of the present Parole board. Some of them have law enforcement experience but very few of them have any kind of training in Corrections, recidivism traits, external factors, gang participation etc. The governor and his appointed board undeniably are responsible for the lives of these two officers. A report should be provided to the public as to what merits this piece of trash was released on and why his previous criminal behavior was overlooked that made them believe he would not be dangerous to the community they released him to.
I for one choose to blame Nike and the NFL. MDOC and the parole board didn’t create the issues facing police, Nike and the NFL did. Now you see why it’s so important for our president and governor to end free speech and to boycott these treasonous companies instead of wasting their time with other less important factors.
@12:57 Disagree if he had not been released early by those entities those officers would be alive.
