Two yewts apparently had a bit of a disagreement at Callaway High School.
One of the combatants channeled his inner Shakespeare and made these comments on Facebook:

Goin places in life, like upstate.
One will shoot the other one this weekend...
12:06am and 2:14am
So both of you did not see pubescent snot noses fight in High School?
I am 45 and seen much worse than this in my hay days
Guess both of you were home schooled or attended Beverly Hills 90210
They momma gone tangle today or tomorrow.
4:11 am
Yes I did.
Now....I'll bet you one of these 2 shoots the other one.
Conflict resolution today is not the same as it was when we were in high school.
@4:11 It's heyday, not hay day. You must've spent more time watching pubescent snot noses fighting than actually learning.
Either that or you were pitching hay to cows instead of cipherin'.
fight? yeah right. either of these would have been on the ground and bloody in my high school..they are dancing like marvin hagler...
Glad to see that JPS's corrective action plan is working out just fine.
good to see them using 'fist a cuffs' versus the alternative !!! One thing I realized back in my days of solving problems / issues through such methods, no matter how bad I pummeled the sh*t out of somebody, I still got punched and felt the pain as a result of the altercation. These young folk need all the mentoring and help we can provide.
The first rule of fight club these days is 1) Break out the cell phone camera #woldstarhiphop
That is not a fight....That is creative dancing. Oh, so talented.
@ 8:16am
exactly! Kids fight in elementary, middle school and in high school. Its better to see them doing this, than running for a gun.
@ 6:11am - then go tell Feel'billy to slow down the gun sells!? What'cha crying for?
Out of curiosity... why no coverage of the last few fights at Terry High School? One made it to the national stage and a few others occurred immediately after and were floating around the web.
Good question. Haven't been able to find the videos.
I attended a private school in the 1980's in Mississippi. Yes, you occasionally saw some fights. It was rare, but it happened. The difference is that the two fighters would have then been pulled into the headmaster's office where he would have taken a paddle and flat wore that ass out. Then the parents would be called. When daddy walked in he would have told the headmaster, "Good job, but I don't think you whipped him hard enough or long enough". Then the kid's daddy would have marched him home and beat that rear end some more. And the kid would have come to school the next day full of nothing but "yes ma'am and no ma'am". The kid would be a changed man.
Band members.
Where are the teachers and other adults? Oh,wait....the lounge or cafeteria.
No teachers, staff and/or video monitors!!! Where is the Sheriffs Deputy assigned to the school?
9:03 PM. Correct. Except I was in high school in the early and mid 60's - of course then it wasn't a private school but a public school.
And when there was a fight, it was on the playground or just off the school property. Didn't matter, still was pulled to the principal's office and the paddle back then had multiple 1" holes drilled in it --- for extra effect.
The paddling at home was often accompanied by other penalties and chores as well. And the results were lasting.
Just a daily occurrence in my 10 out of 12 years of JPS schooling; 9th and 10th grade being in a private school. Now I'm labeled as a "racist" and burdened with "white privilege". Have you ever noticed how many of your friends that attended predominantly white private schools in the day are now the most liberal and "civil rights champions" of the bunch? Strange how that works.
@ Callaway of '81
Hell, Callaway was probably 95% White in 1981 - how many black people did you befriend back then? Or mommy and daddy didn't play that socializing with the coloreds mess?
I have an idea:
Let's install regulation sized boxing rings at all JPS schools. Get the gloves, head protection, the whole deal.
When this kind of shit happens, put them in the ring and let them get after it. No rules. Last man standing wins. End of argument.
Fights will be scheduled after school. Betting is allowed with the house (JPS) keeping about 1/2 for the "juice". Pay for the equipment, release the anger and a good time can be had by all! Oh, I want the concessions!!
That's probably the tamest JPS fight I've ever seen.
Isn't Mississippi the one state without wrestling?
If they had it, these JPS fools would realize how weak they are pretty fast. I mean they are pretty disillusion, so maybe they wouldn't realize it.
3:43, it was 70% black in 81. Nice try. I was there.
Here is the one that started the latest wave of fight vids at the school... the one that made national news:
https://youtu.be/duo7hOMGHc8
There is another one of some girls going at it... I'll see if I can find it on my facebook feed.
5:32, isn't it time for you to understand? Ms. is the one state without a lot of things.
@ 6:07am
Hell, Provine was majority white until 1988 and that is in the heart of West of Jackson?
So I have a hard time believing Callaway was 70% black in 1981? Integration didn't really start rolling until 1963. It was probably 15% black, because kids were being bused in from Virden Addition back in those days.
It probably appeared 70% to you, because one black student was too many!? LOL!
I'm Callaway class of 1982. The "70% black" comment is amazingly spot-on. I have my 1980 Callaway "L'Esprit" yearbook on-hand. I count 831 blacks, 395 whites. There's a guy named Johnny Zeto on page 142 that I excluded because he looks Asian. You can see my photo a few pages past 150. Oh man, did I have a crush on Susan Tannehill (pages 42, 43, 65, 71, 128)
That's about 68% black. By 1981, 70% would be exactly accurate.
