So long sad times
Go long bad times
We are rid of you at last
Howdy gay times
Cloudy gray times
You are now a thing of the past
Happy days are here again
The skies above are clear again
So let's sing a song of cheer again
Happy days are here again
Music and Lyrics by J. Yellen and M. Ager
Any day that you can stick your thumb in kennuf 'tokes eye is a good day!
President McQuirter is the Anti-Stokes. And I'm happy to see that Ms. Hobson-Calhoun is right behind him. At this point, anyone in Stokes' position might look to take a job in the private sector, but who would have him? Graham will sulk, then reinvent himself, but I will never trust him based upon the Airwave scandal alone.
Graham reinvent himself? Gimme a break. He's nothing but a fraud.
Stowers and Hargrove better hope Precious gives them a job doing janitorial work.
praise allah - how many more days til graham the legend is removed from the board completely? now he has more time to focus on paying back the 47k per the state auditor.
Please go into more detail describing the "Stokes not happy" for those of us unable to be there.
I hope somebody has the sense to call for an audit before things begin to vanish!
Does this actually mean that people in Hinds County are beginning to wake up???
Well Graham you can always impersonate a Lieutenant of the Jackson Police Department.
The bad thing about a rotation for President is that eventually it will be Stokes turn. Hopefully he is ousted by then or sulks and quits. District 5 better wake up and vote differently next election. Having attending some meetings, his agenda has never included any district 5 concerns. I'll bite my tongue now.
Stokes is the only one willing to question things and challenge them. The others just sit there and look stupid. I realize how much of a pain Stokes can be,but at least he is asking questions,as oppose to just saying "yes" to things that affect the citizens of Hinds county.
I know I'm dense, so please don't point it out; but, will someone explain the magic of 9.5 month rotation. At first glance I see that it's impossible to start and complete a full fiscal year, every fiscal year will be presided over by at least two supervisors, nobody can be held accountable at the end of the year for something he pushed at the beginning of the year...
Happy New Years !!!
@2:46, You are clueless. Stokes questions are idiotic and most times irrelevant to what is going on but as long as he is on the take he might as well sit there and look like a buffoon with stupid questions. Faking the people into believing that he is actually contributing instead of doing harm that the county cannot afford. His talking points and his questions very rarely have anything to do with his district and the voice of his constituents of district 5. That my friend is dereliction of duty and if he were in the corporate world would have been fired a long time ago. Hell, he probably couldn't get hired in the private sector. And as for your misguided knowledge, it wasn't until McQuirter and Greer got elected that the tough questions started getting asked. McQuirter has already asked that Hinds county contracts be reviewed and Stokes opposed the vote. Greer has already asked questions in regards to the jail and maintenance work. Greer also brought up the board President question which was also opposed by Stokes. Stokes said something about a law that a team of lawyers couldn't find. The first month on the job for the new supes and the slush fund was gone. Congrats to newly elected President Mcquirter.
Where have you been 2:46? Certainly not listening to what has been going on in the county of Hinds. There are truely no words to describe the unruly, ignorant, outbursts that we have tolerated from Stokes. He has taken decent people and thrown them under the bus and never blinked his eyes, and you know why, they weren't his buddy or crony, the right color, or, there was nothing in it for him! He has said "yes" plenty of times to the ones that were. Stokes has been a pain alright, one that along with his Lieutenant friend has almost killed this county.
But you know I really kinda feel it is unecessary now to say all the bad things about them because you know what, it has all come back around and they are reaping what they have sown.It is truely a new day in the county of Hinds, and we now have a fighting chance. I thank GOD that their greedy voices have basically been silenced.
Sounds like transparency to me.
"He has taken decent people and thrown them under the bus.."
And then refused to pay for said bus services.
MOSQUITO CONTROL
HA! Post of the Week goes to @7:33.
Will we get an explanation of the 9.5 rotation or not?
January 7, 2014 at 12:18 PM = considering a colonic
My guess is that there are 5 superintendents and they have 4 year (staggered)terms. In order for each to have a chance to preside over the board their term as president would be 9.5 months (48 months / 5 supes = 9.6 months). Like I said, thsi is just my guess.
...and they have 4 year (staggered)terms
Wrong. You must be a JPS grad.
Screw you 1:44. Contribute meaningfully or get lost.
