The Slabbed nation issued an informal press release concerning a recent fund-raiser:
To the good people at the Mississippi .Please consider this statement the unofficial statement from the group of people known by some as the Slabbed Nation, The Sunherald Snake Nation or the SEA (SCREWED ENOUGH ALREADY) PARTY. We are just concerned taxpayers that seek change.
We are gathering on East Beach in Ocean Springs with permission from the City to protest this fundraiser being hosted by people who we think are in conflict with the Ms.Auditor Stacey Pickering who is in the middle of investigations involving the DMR, Dr. Bill Walker, Scott Walker (who lives right next door at 435 East Beach Blvd which was raided recently by the Ms.Auditors office and the FBI) Walkers private nonprofit Marine Resource Foundation and others that are known an unknown to the public. Also the host and owner of this residence is Mr.Joe Cloyd part owners of Frontier Gulf Coast, a company who was recently given a no bid public relations contract for work at the DMR thru another party. The conflicts are many and Stacey Pickering should know better.
Bill Walker watches from home |
We are a grass roots movement of many professions from the area that wants something done about the embezzlement and misuse of our hard earned tax dollars at the DMR and all other state agencies now. WE ARE MAD AS HELL AND ARE NOT GOING AWAY. Sorry for the inconvenience we may have caused anyone in the area by assembling here tonight.. Thanks, THE PEOPLE
Check out these pictures on Slabbed or this coverage on GulfLive.

Pickering is a waste of perfectly good oxygen. If he truly aspires to a higher calling (or office), he should sack up raid Hinds County.
This "press release" from the Coast tells me one thing: Pickering would be well served by a good primary threat.
Anybody interested in being a real auditor with some statutory weight behind your office? Our current auditor is much too content to sit on his ass and ride the pine til his number is called.
Im assuming Frontier Gulf Coast is Quenton Dickerson and Josh Gregory?
WOW.These people are serious about these matters.Everything you read about this mess called the MsDMR ia going to cost the Taxpayers millions and involve other state agencies/people. Stacey Pickering is even a bigger disappointment with his no urgency investigation that has yielded nothing. I listened to his speech the other day at the Neshoba County Fair where he bragged about what a good year he was having with record breaking recoveries. He fails to tell the public his inflated figures includes restitution agreements that will never be paid by people in prison or otherwise do not have any resources. I will never vote for this man who applies the law unequally again. Thanks for the article Sir.
Well, it is kinda like the Old Bull and the Young Bull on a hill overlooking a pasture full of Heifers, the Young Bull said "Hey lets run down there, and make love to a couple of young Heifers", the Old Bull said "No let's walk down there and Make love to them all!"
The bull involved in all of this corruption is big and getting old quickly. I do not know if the people at the top of the state Republican party realize it yet but these people involved in all what is/has gone on are Republicans, all of them !!! They are destroying the party from the Coast all the way to Jaskson.I spent my adult life as a conservative republican party member but no more for me or many others that I know. On top of all else you have people like Pickering who fails to do his job when it comes to a fellow republican but will chase down the school secretary to prosecute for a small amount of money. What ever has happened has made me a conservative with no party affiliation. And Stacey Pickering needs to go back to Howard Industries once he polishes up on his Spanish.
9:00am the Frontier Gulf Coast is owned by Josh Gregory and Joe Cloyd. It is a new entity registered with the SOS in the first quarter of this year. Soon there after the received a contract from Horne to do work at the DMR under a contract they held. All just coincidental based on the relationship they have with Jamie Miller, the new Director of this agency.
Even though the political calculus has rendered conservative votes from Hinds County as meaningless this Hinds resident will never vote for Pickering again. The no-bid Airwave contract alone was sufficient to warrant an intervention and he did nothing. Going forward I'll vote for any candidate opposing him in any race regardless of party or platform.
Same for the RINO empty suit Gregg Harper.
I bet Joe Nosef and Coby Parker are loving these stories. Both have expressed an interest in the job at some point down the road, but I would assume either have the guts to take on Pickering. Someone needs to step up and preferably it NOT be a Bryant/Gregory yes man who has been the worse party chairman in recent history (aka Nosef) or a Nunnelee/Harper/Hewes yes man who showed his coziness with the trial lawyers by supporting liberal Flip Phillips for the Supreme Court (aka Parker).

The BIGGEST DISGRACE about Pickering is his past relationship with Howard Industry that he has been trying to cover up--Anybody want to dig would come up with information that could send him to his own house or the Big house!! Anyone game to take a look? Its a smoking gun!!!
9:03 Is there a specific allegation or just arm waving and yelling?
9:03--Its all on record and can be proven!!!!
We know from history that no political party holds power for ever. Are we seeing a shift from Republican due to the missteps of those currently holding office? Is the arrogance of these young party turks that now call themselves consultants help accelerate this? Ia it time for a third party to emerge? I like the name the Coasties came up with called the Sea Party, Screwed Enough Already. One thing I am certain of is the fact that if some change of direction, like reeling in these con-cowboys, is not made within the state Republican Party soon some other group like the Democrats or something like the Sea Party is going to be given a opportunity to grow their numbers.
How is DMR even still alive? Its still infested, including the new boss. Same as the old boss
So 9:03, what is the smoking gun on Pickering??
The DMR still exists because the taxpayer dollars still flow to the Agency. I think if the new director invites one more of his republican buddies inside the building to feed at the trough like he did with Frontier Gulf Coast thru Horne I believe the taxpaying public will storm the building and demand his removal. Miller must also be afraid of this because now you cannot get into the DMR without going thru security at one point of entey only. Lockdown is now in place.
The smoking gun on Pickering will be heard around the world when the time is right--
So I guess we have reached the point where the "consultants" remain as indendent contractors to the Governor or other state department heads so they can pursue actual income producing contracts with agencies that need an ok from the Governor. Even if it's just a wink. And they earn the wink by being fundraising go-to guys in the communities where they have deep pocketed contacts. Did Fordice, Musgrove and others do this like Haley and Phil? Or has the technology age, blogs, political fundraising fatigue and gotcha politics finally caught up with these types? These are smart guys we are talking about but how smart are you when you host a fundraiser at your house for a guy that is investigating an agency that you have a no bid contact with and you live next door to the guy that is actually being investigated ?(and by the FEDs too!) Is this a great country or what?!? The Republicans need some fresh meat from a Coast fundraising standpoint because this gang is scaring people off right and left.
Maybe they are using some of Pickering's advisors they have done a good job until now of hiding Pickering's dirt!!!!!!!!!!!
The consultants we see now are in some cases people who help someone get elected thus obligating that certain publc official to leave the back door to their elected office open for these same people to come and go selling access under the new title of "consultants" They make it very difficult to get anything done without their paid help. You have others who work for state agencies like the MDA or DEQ who get the necessary contacts within state government and then use them to access money or get contracts worth thousands. One example would be a consultant who thru his contacts received CDBG funding for real estate projects. One project was funded as "workforce housing" is now constructed in Harrison County and being advertised as a 118 unit Senior Independent Living Facility. Retirement and Work Force Housing seem to be different types of real estate developments. Did his contacts allow for this bait and switch? Maybe the State Auditor needs to investigate this or has a conflict already been created because this same consultant just put together a fundraiser for Pickering in his home? Lots to think about for sure.
If you recall, Trent Lott resigned just in time to begin his lobbying efforts without having to wait 1 or 2 years ...as Congress had recently passed a bill limiting the role a former Congressman could play for a certain a,punt of time. So now we have guys actually working for government, albeit as independent contractors, and being awarded lucrative contracts while their real Boss is actually serving office. It may be legal.....and if it is, it's barely legal.. But it doesn't make it right. They should at least wait until their guy is out of office. I know theses consultants are laughing at the Blogs posted about their money making efforts (and I have heard them publicly laugh about this very subject and how they are untouchable) BUT don't be surprised if this Pickering event that happened down on the Coast causes some major waves in the Party and throughout the State. It also exposes roles and relationships that some folks assume to be quite proper when in reality they are far far from proper and are in fact totally unethical and wrong.
You can take what is going on with the MsDMR and go backwards from today and you will find a web of conflicts and collusion that will have a very negative impact on Republican party politics going forward. This disaster involves in partthe same group of "untouchables" and there clients who are all involved politics to get to the money in my opinion. This sort of remind me of the movie "Scareface" with a little twist to that famous line "first you get the money, then you get the power, then you get the women". These CONsultants are probably using "First you get the your man elected, then you get the consulting contracts, then you get the money". And it all revolves around Republican politics. We all know Josh Gregory has the ump at the Govs office. His game is old hat by now. Down there on the Coast you have his partner in crime,I mean consulting, that started out, I guess, fresh out of college as an aide in Haley Barbour's office. Just a few years removed from that job he is hosting fund raisers for people like Stacey Pickering in what they call a "Million Dollar Mansion". He is involved with several real estate projects that were funded thru the LTWH program which provides grants and loans to developers. He is a public relations professional as a principal in Frontier Gulf Coast with contracts for work at the MsDMR. He is president of the Jackson County Republican Club. He is past president of the Harrison County Republican Club and he is only in his low 30s. Wow!!!My head is spinning!!! Hard to figure out. They use to say that "Youth is the life of the party in the future". If something does not change soon they will be saying "Youth was the death of the party looking back". One thing that is for sure is exposure is the new theme of the day and people across this state are watching this potential melt down forming like a thunderstorm on the horizon. Just wonder if the party heads in Jackson is paying any attention. Sure does not seem like it.
Sorry for my typos and other errors in my post at 12:36.Was in a hurry to catch my flight out of the of the state I cherish.. Just read it on the plane. I will have plenty of time to continue my research for a new book I am working on. Thinking of calling it "Party with Phil Time" (hehehe you got to love it)
The problem 12:36 is that those indy conseratives who want to hold the GOP accountable won't vote for those OBESE blowhards Moak and Presley (can you see those boobs with Mama Obama at a Mississippi Eat Healthy rally? LMFAO) nor Ronnie "Toilet Seat" Musgrove nor for McCoy's Water Boy nor Failed Us Mabus.
So who the hell else you got beside Hood? Who do you have?
Name names or STFU. Because time is short and unknowns don't win.
We better find some new faces and talent or we are going to continue to be #50 for the next 50. And STFU will never bring anybody forward. I myself never will STFU for you or anyone else. Jones County might want to update that petition from the 1860s to free themselves.
You won't pony up and you have nothing but pablum to provide. You must be Brandon Jones, Jr.. Congrats.
What about Enoch Sanders? He can't be bought.
Everybody should be considered regardless of party affiliation. We need good honest people to lead our state out of this political crisis.
I think a fair question for Delbert or whoever wants to be the next Senator or Statewide Republican candidate...Is who are you going to call on the Coast to organize and handle your next big Republican fundraiser? And I'm sure there is a "consultant" out there who can "consult" you on which "consultant" you should use to figure that out
Was is worth it Stacey? You will spend more doing damage control because of the Coast Fundraiser than you would had you never had the event at all. Your opponents are about to have a field day.
It appears to me from my observation the title "consultant" is going to be a liability going forward. Those that practice in this field may want to come up with a new term for what they do. I think we should help them come up with that right catchy title.
I have yet to see someone lose an election because of who he chose as a consultant, regardless of whether the consultant did his job or not.
Liability?
Bad corporate decisions and withholding information from the MPC didn't prevent The Southern Company(MPC) from offering former MPC CEO Day a three-year consultant contract at $450,000 for a three-year period. Could it be hush money? Day should avoid airline travel for the next 10 years, lest he ends up like the late Southern Co. whistleblowing excecutive Jake Horton.

And was it $150,000/year "hush" money that former MPSC commissioner Lenny Bentz will receive as the new director of the SMPDD?

It is funny how they both are getting $150,000.per year and this was announced in the paper on the same day.
