Some context would be wonderful.

what a douchebag.

I do not know if this is a different person with a similar name.

So all I'm saying is what a curious coincidence.

I put the link up at 5:44 P.M.

I now am 99% sure its two different people with the same name.

It is just a coincidence.

Look Kingfish, are you insinuating something about Trish Raymond?

Anonymous said...

I was under the impression Tricia Raymond no longer works for MADD...

Provided this is true, anyone know why she is not with the "organization"?

Anonymous said...

Why does it not surprise me that he's sporting an Ed Hardy shirt?

Anonymous said...

I don't think MADD is the issue here. They have a right to their opinion, and frankly if they seem overzealous at times, that's their right. A corrupt cop with a badge and gun is an entirely different matter. I'm not nearly as interested in the leadership at MADD as I am in the leadership, or lack thereof, of the City Administration and Police Department.

It's probably a fake Ed Hardy shirt.

According to the 9/15/09 minutes of the Ridgeland Board of Aldermen published online, this guy was the Ridgeland PD officer of the month for June, 2009.

Anonymous said...

The one on the left is the (former) Ridgeland DUI Officer discussed in the April 23 article.

Anonymous said...

so your saying as a law enforcement officer you can't drink at your own house?? makes no sense!

Anonymous said...

3:34 pm. That's not the point. There's nothing wrong with drinking. He was a complete and total hypocrite about it who thought he was above the law. And, he drank and drove all the time.

Anonymous said...

it clearly is a point! you have a picture of him at his house drinking...not of him drinking and driving!

Anonymous said...

He got pulled over drunk in Flowood. Because he was a cop, they didn't press charges. He also did alot of drinking at that little place (the Bulldog?) on Ridgewood Road across from Walgreens, just inside Jackson. I agree that there isn't anything wrong with him drinking at home. The reason this has touched a nerve so strongly is that he was regularly abusing the power of his badge and a lot of people knew about it because he flaunted it. While the context of this picture doesn't indicate any wrongdoing, those of you defending him really don't have a leg to stand on.

Anonymous said...

The only thing missing from this story is that he didn't work for Mary Hawkins-Butler. She would have put him up on an altar for that sort of 'enforcement'.

Anonymous said...

He also had inside security guards working at Buffalo Wild Wings that would alert him when someone left. They were fired, of course. From lots of accounts, he's a big time drinker. And driver. And, those of you defending him obviously don't know the whole story.

Anonymous said...

He was also known to start fights in bars and later use his LE position to make that person's life a living hell.

Anonymous said...

We were pulled over and questioned in the parking lot of BWW. My husband who does not drink was driving and our 2 year old was in a car seat. We wondered why you could not leave a restauraunt without being accused of DUI.

Ultimately I hold Mayor Gene "move Harbor Drive over 100 feet for no reason" McGee responsible for this situation. And it's ironic that Chuck McRae, who is no stranger himself to the consequences of committing DUI, is the one that finally put an end to this.

Anonymous said...

7:38-Was it Soto?

Anonymous said...

Oh no, it's not THAT ironic. And to be fair to Mr. McRae, I am not at all familiar with the details, or whether he was even found guilty of DUI, but I do seem to remember quite a dust-up about an alleged DUI a few years back. For me to imply that he was guilty of DUI is over-reaching on my part, not intentionally. Apologies to Mr. McRae, and more appropriately thanks for running this guy out of town.

Anonymous said...

6:17, what has this got to do with mayor madison Mary? Just trying to stir putting smoke to cover for Mayor ridge land gene or was a supervisor on the payroll. Oops I know Rudy was engineering the roads soto was cruising!

Anonymous said...

soto

Anonymous said...

the reason people are defending him is because we DO know the whole story! unlike you guys who are all complaining of soto giving out DUIs...funny all of you are the ones that have either been convicted or charged with a DUI. I'm not going to lie, if i was convicted of a DUI I would hate that officer also. This is just a blog to vent your complaints! and one more inside information..he was not ran out of MS by ANYONE! he has been looking into moving for over a year now. WAY before McRae decided to stir up this BS because he couldn't win a case against him.

Anonymous said...

Thank you really cool guy on the right side of the photo for weighing in on this.

Anonymous said...

Anonymous @ 10:12. I've never been convicted, charged or pulled over for a DUI offense and have no criminal record. Don't drink but do drive so don't lump everyone in one pool. I'd like to hear your whole story since you are defending this jackass.
Give us a new perspective of this soto!!

Anonymous said...

10:12 are you really saying that McRae couldn't beat this guy? Soto's merely a witness for the prosecution. And if the prosecution either knowingly or unknowingly has a witness willing to commit perjury, then it becomes a tough case to defend. So I guess in a way you are right. It's tough to win in court when the prosecution's key witness commits perjury. So this isn't really so much about Soto, but more about how and why did this go on for so long?

Anonymous said...

Soto was planning on moving, however, his actions caught up with him beforehand. He was definitely run out of Mississippi. Even his so-called friends knew of his tactics and will talk openly about them.

Anonymous said...

I wonder how many people know what a Ed Hardy shirt is. Even as I sit here drinking a Sailor Jerry's and 7-Up.

Anonymous said...

both of those guys are douchebags. and whoever is defending that dirty fucking cop needs his ass kicked. i don't know the prick, but i know his type. one look at that picture and i know that everything they are saying is true. fuck him.

Anonymous said...

He's just a little dude. It's called Napolean Complex.

Anonymous said...

Mr. McRae filed a motion to dismiss on March 17 and stated
"The Court is aware that the prosecuting witness being, Officer Daniel Soto, gave false testimony..."
Defendant would show that it is believed that the prosecution has evidence that the witness in other cases has also given false testimony...."
"It is learned that while Officer Soto announced that no tape existed for various reasons, an independent investigation revealed that he personally viewed the video of the arrest of the defendant which clearly showed the perjured testimony of Soto. In addition a copy of the transcript of said witness and the video tape of the occurrence that the City and Officer Soto said did not exist at trial has been maintained by the City of Ridgeland will be supplied at hearing..."
:)
Don't forget, HE LIED!!!!

Anonymous said...

Soto did not GIVE anyone a DUI! The people that drank and drove gave THEMSELVES the DUI! Own up to your own mistakes and stop blaming other people for them!

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
