JPD issued the following statement.
On August 3, 2026, the body of 29-year-old Tasia Fortune was discovered in the 500 block of Road of Remembrance in Jackson. Fortune was found in a hanging position from a tree behind a vacant house. Investigators immediately began working to determine the circumstances surrounding her death. Since that day, our department has dedicated hundreds of hours to the investigation. Detectives have interviewed as many as 15 individuals, collected and preserved forensic evidence, and followed numerous leads in an effort to establish the facts of this case.
Today, Tuesday, September 22, 2026, investigators arrested a second suspect, 25-year- old Earnest Lloyd Jr. Lloyd was charged with murder for his alleged role in Fortune’s death. Detectives have also obtained an arrest warrant for a third suspect. That individual’s name is not being released at this time. The warrant has been turned over to the U.S. Marshals Service for service.
Kingfish note: JPD arrested Lloyd for aggravated assault in 2023 but he was never indicted.

I suspect that she was killed before, and then hanged as a diversion, i.e. red herring.
Either way the geniuses of Jackson, the propaganda machines, and white saviors still think there’s roving gangs of klansmen running around lynching people and this guy is patsy number 2 for the klan. Never mind the other homicides will literally have the klan kickin up dust in the Ditions.
Another crackhead. Why would being in the split of a tree with a cable cord tied around your neck mocking a hanging and drugs in your system and cause of death be anything but hanging be considered hanging? Help us to understand.

Speculation: She died of a Over dose. To cover the drug dealers track they staged a hanging which was not support by the physics of a hanging.
I was reliably told on X and Reddit that this was the Road of Remembrance chapter of the KKK that did this?!?!?!

Calling the 'hanging' a diversion doesn't really make sense. Just look at those arrested (so far) and tell me you think they have enough sense to concoct a plan other than how to get to the Totesum for a beer and then they'd get lost on the wrong street.
