Madison-Rankin County District Attorney Bubba Bramlett issued the following statement.
Madison and Rankin Counties’ District Attorney John K. “Bubba” Bramlett announced today that David Yonathan Orozco, 30, was sentenced to serve forty-three years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections for possession of child pornography. On December 23, 2025, officers with the Madison Police Department made a traffic stop on a car that was swerving out of its lane. Orozco was the driver and sole occupant of the car, and he consented to a search of the vehicle. Inside the car was a felony amount of methamphetamine.He was arrested and officers got a search warrant for his cell phone as part of their investigation. Inside the cell phone they found hundreds of videos of child pornography and messages with other individuals exchanging child pornography and discussing how to find a live child to abuse. Orozco was indicted for five counts of possession of child pornography and one count of possession of methamphetamine. Shortly before his trial was set to begin, he elected to plead guilty to the indictment without a recommendation by the State. The Court held a sentencing hearing on August 17, 2026, and the judge sentenced him to forty-three years to serve. He will have to register as a sex offender upon his release from custody. District Attorney Bramlett stated, “The materials that were on this man’s phone were truly horrendous and evil. Someone who finds pleasure in that type of activity has zero redeemable qualities and should be behind bars where they can’t abuse innocent children. I am so thankful for the dedicated men and women at the Madison Police Department who investigate every case fully. If not for the thorough investigation into a suspected drug offender, we may never have caught this child predator. It is incredibly difficult for the investigators and attorneys in cases such as this to have to view these images and videos over and over again to prepare the case for indictment and trial. That is something that you never forget. I would like to personally thank Madison Police Department Investigator Eric Mallery and Assistant District Attorneys Katie Moulds and Ashley Allen for their work on this case and getting it to a guilty plea.”

have fun on your vacation, Mr Orozco
What might have the sentence been without a plea and with a jury's finding of guilty?
Bring back castration for sex offenders. It's the only way to rehabilitation.
Don't worry. 43 years will shrivel his pod.
Those ears…
general pop please......maybe the inmates still have a sense of justice....
The ACLU goes age nuts when someone mentions castration of pedophiles. But let a confused and bullied 13 year get intimidated into thinking he is a girl and the ACLU leads the charge for castration.
Wonder if came here to cut grass? If so, bet he wishes he never climbed that fence or waded across.
Meth and porn, crazy combo. Thank God they got him before they found a real child. Hopefully they go the others in the group message
Bubba Bramlett rules the world. Madison and Rankin are the safest Counties in Mississippi, the Southeast, and the entire Nation. Thank You to Bubba Bramlett, your entire Staff and all of the Outstanding L.E.O. Agencies in Madison and Rankin Counties for your dedication and outstanding hard work. We do Love and Honor all of you.
Castration AND a lobotomy for vermin like these.
i said it elsewhere, i'll say it again;
my solution would be to make him dig his own grave, set him on fire, and then cover him with dirt when the flames go out.
it's the only way to be sure.
Usually the guys talking the loudest about the medieval torture they want to perform on sexual deviants are only saying this due to self hatred and shame. Take a look at Mike Caruso in Florida. He voted to give sex predators the death penalty and now he’s arrested for raping his grandson.
Or they're fathers that imagine some asshole doing harm to one of their little kids.
