JPD arrested two suspects in the triple murder of two women and a two year-old child that took place last weekend.
JPD Chief Rashal Brackney announced the arrest of Cornelius Carter and Jordan Carter in the case. Chief Brackney said the crime was not random as the victims were "targeted."
Mayor John Horhn issued the following statement:
I commend Chief Brackney and the men and women of the Jackson Police Department for their work in identifying and apprehending suspects in this brutal crime. We will continue working every day to ensure that everyone responsible is brought to justice. This effort will continue. My prayers are with the family and loved ones who are carrying this loss. No words can ease the pain, but you are not alone. Jackson, I’m asking you to lift this family up in prayer and surround them with support during this difficult time. The future of Jackson is in our hands. Working together, we will turn our city around and make Jackson a safer place, now and in the future.Kingfish note: Yes, it appears there is some catch and release.
